Thanks to Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Jurassic World, which are produced by wife and husband Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall respectively, the total domestic gross for the year has reached a record $11 billion. The previous record was $10.9 billion in 2013, when Frozen, Iron Man 3 and The Hunger Games: Catching Fire each made more than $400 million from their U.S. theatrical release. The aforementioned top two 2015 titles have each made it past the $600 million mark. And in third place, Avengers: Age of Ultron also grossed more than the chart topper of two years ago. New Images: 'Ghostbusters' Kick Fire Truck Butt, While 'The Jungle Book' Gets Sad Posted: 30 Dec 2015 02:00 PM PST The upcoming new version of Ghostbusters initially created a stir because of its casting, with Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones stepping into the shoes originally filled by Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis and Ernie Hudson. With production completed, however, it's time to start speculating about the inevitable plot changes. So why is a fire truck turned on its side in the newest official photo (above)? Movie News: Leonardo DiCaprio Confirms Anakin Skywalker Rumor; Watch Wild 'Lazer Team' Trailer Posted: 30 Dec 2015 12:00 PM PST Star Wars: Leonardo DiCaprio has confirmed a long-ago rumor that George Lucas wanted him to play Anakin Skywalker in Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones. At the time, Lucas envisioned the character as a bit older, while DiCaprio had followed up Titanic with a trio of underperforming movies. DiCaprio met Lucas about the role, though he later said he "didn't feel ready to take that dive." Instead, the actor moved on to starring roles in Martin Scorsese's Gangs of New York and Steven Spielberg's Catch Me If You Can (above).
