Moviegoers Pick 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' As Their Favorite Movie of 2015 Posted: 28 Dec 2015 08:00 PM PST In a nationwide survey during the final weeks of December, Fandango has revealed the list of 10 movies chosen by moviegoers to be their favorites of 2015. And, unsurprisingly, Star Wars: The Force Awakens tops the list. The latest Star Wars film has already racked up an astonishing 37 box office records as it continues its quest to become the highest grossing movie of all-time. Will it beat James Cameron's Avatar? Analysts feel it's no longer a question of it, but when. Somewhat surprisingly, the second film on the list is not one of the few that also topped a billion at the worldwide box office this year. Ridley Scott's The Martian proved to be the most entertaining next to Star Wars despite the fact that it didn't earn as much as some of the other films on the... Here's What Christopher Nolan's Next Movie Is About Posted: 28 Dec 2015 06:00 PM PST A few months ago, we learned Christopher Nolan's next movie will be out in the summer of 2017. But we weren't let in on what that movie actually is. Now the mystery may have been solved, as reports from France, now confirmed by Variety, suggest some loose details on what could be the filmmaker's first war movie and his first period piece since 2006's The Prestige. Here's what we sort of know of the project, which is currently titled Dunkirk: A cast is already coming together According to the Variety report, Mark Rylance, Kenneth Branagh and Tom Hardy are in talks to join the cast. None of their potential roles are known, unfortunately, but the trade refers to it as an ensemble cast, so expect even more names in the future. There will... Posted: 28 Dec 2015 04:00 PM PST People can argue until the blood covered cows come home about Quentin Tarantino's movies, but one thing is indisputable: the man knows how to create characters and cast a movie. Once a Tarantino movie is in the bag, it is impossible to imagine other actors taking on any of his characters. That said, with a few exceptions, Tarantino doesn't always write a character with an actor in mind. It's a normal casting process just like on any other movie wherein the director makes a list and meets with potential cast, talks them through the movie, sees if they are a good fit and so on. And in the case of The Hateful Eight, that process almost meant us seeing Jennifer Lawrence as Daisy Domergue, the prisoner at the center of the whole, twisted, gory mystery. Tarantino...
