'Pretty Little Liars' Season 6 Episode 14 Recap: Er, Is Aria's Dad A? Posted: We imagine that you've spent the past week being emotionally traumatized due to the newest ship sailing around fan fiction. Naturally, we're talking about #Spaleb, aka Spencer + Caleb, "Pretty Little Liars" weirdest couple who were clearly designed to play with our emotions. All kinds of Spaleb drama went down this week, and we're here to talk about it in intense detail (we're all in this together, guys).
In Which Caleb and Spencer Have Sex, Make Toby Feel :( So, Caleb and Spencer had sex. As in, they woke up together naked while some gentle acoustic guitar played. Our lives will never be the same. The good news is that Toby has a new fiance named Yvonne who happens to be campaigning against Spencer's family. But that doesn't mean he isn't experiencing max ~feels~ thanks to his best friend sexing his OTP. Poor Toby flies into a major huff when Caleb tells him the news, and is like, "get out of here with your graphic velvet flower shirt!" (*Actually, he's just silent and awkward, but same diff.) Fortunately, Spencer, Caleb and Toby were able to put the awkwardness behind them because they're now adults, but we're still sensing some sexual tension between Spoby. In Which Aria's Dad Might Be a Murderer, Go Figure Due to the fact that Ezra is a beer-chugging, bearded alcoholic who might also be a murderer, Aria decides to do what any normal person would. Break into his house while he's out of town and check to see if his nine iron is missing. (Note: Cece was killed with a golf club.) Honestly, the biggest revelation about this — other than how terrible at decision making Aria is —is that Ezra plays golf. Isn't he too busy listening to Bright Eyes or something? Anyway, looks like Ezra didn't kill Cece, but womp: Daddy Montgomery might have. Aria makes this discovery after listening to Ezra's voicemails (girl) and overhearing her dad implore Ezra to chat about what he "saw" on the night Cece died. So, to sum things up, all the men in Aria's life are ultra shady. In Which Hanna Is Rewarded for Bad Behavior Wondering what's up with Hanna? Despite being vaguely horrified by Spencer and Caleb, she's ready to move forward in her engagement. But first, she has to tell both her mom and her fiance that she lied about Aria's whereabouts on the night Cece Drake was murdered. Th good news is that everyone forgives her and her mom steals the incriminating back up tapes of Radley Hotel's security footage, so we've once again learned a valuable lesson on PLL. If you lie to the police, it's totally chill. In Which A Is More Than Officially Back The good news about Spencer and Caleb getting their love making on (sorry) is that they're both really smart. These two use their brain power to track A 2.0 down, and after some real talk about Toby, they come across a storage unit filled with A's old hoodies and a cell phone. The message within? "I don't lurk in the shadows, I hide in plain sight." Shudder. Speaking of shadows, if you see an old man lurking around Rosewood, it's just A in a super realistic costume. This vigilante's financial resources will never cease to amaze us. This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |
Melissa McCarthy Says She Wasn't Asked Back for 'Gilmore Girls' Revival Posted: Only days after the "Gilmore Girls" revival was officially confirmed by Netflix, many original cast members have already been confirmed to return. But will comedy superstar Melissa McCarthy be among them? As of right now, it's looking like a firm "no" -- and the actress says she was never even asked. That was McCarthy's claim on Twitter on Tuesday, when she responded to an interview in which "Gilmore" creator Amy Sherman-Palladino said she had reached out to McCarthy's representatives about possibly fitting in a small Sookie cameo. Here's what ASP told TVLine in the original interview: But according to McCarthy, she never got that message. "Thanks for the invite, but sadly no one asked me or Sookie to come back to Stars Hollow," McCarthy said in response to a fan pleading with the star to answer Sherman-Palladino's call. The actress added that she wishes those involved with the revival "all the best." It's unclear who to believe in this scenario. Would Sherman-Palladino really not bother attempting to get McCarthy on board, even knowing that it was unlikely the busy star could join in? Or did McCarthy's management simply not give her the message, because they, too, knew it probably wouldn't work out? Something seems fishy here. Either way, it looks like McCarthy's absence, though obviously glaring, won't really affect the plot of the revival, which Sherman-Palladino said would explain away why Lorelai's BFF wasn't around. (Much like fellow Netflix revival property "Fuller House" will excuse Michelle's absence.) The creator told TVLine that fans could expect a reference to the chef, but they'd still love to have McCarthy in the flesh if she was willing and able. "[I]f her people called me up and said she's free on these particular days or would love to drop by and just be in one scene, we would put her right in," Sherman-Palladino said. Here's hoping they can work something out. The "Gilmore Girls" revival is in production now. It's slated to appear on the streaming service sometime later this year. Lady Gaga Will Pay Tribute to David Bowie at the Grammys Posted: Nearly one month after rock and fashion icon David Bowie passed away, his loss is still reverberating across the globe. Now, a special public tribute has been planned for the late star, featuring another chameleonic performer. Lady Gaga will perform in honor of Bowie at the Grammy Awards, the organizers of the show said on Tuesday. Gaga is expected to perform three or four of the artist's songs, in a performance slated to last about six or seven minutes. Grammys producer Ken Ehrlich revealed in an interview with The New York Times that Gaga had already been booked to perform on this year's awards show. But after Bowie died of cancer on January 10, organizers quickly planned to pay tribute to the star, and began discussing the possibility with Gaga and her management team. The singer has long expressed her admiration for the late star, and his influence on her career and persona. "Over the next week, Mr. Ehrlich added, he was contacted by numerous other artists who wanted to participate — 'some of whom might have made sense; the vast majority didn't,' he said — but he stuck to the idea of Lady Gaga solo," the Times reports. Ehrlich also told the Times that Gaga's performance would "be a true homage to who David was, particularly musically, but not ignoring his influence on fashion and pop culture in a broader way." Musician Nile Rodgers, a frequent Bowie collaborator, will produce the tribute. We're looking forward to Mother Monster doing Starman proud. James Corden to Host the 2016 Tony Awards Posted: James Corden is taking his hosting skills to an even bigger stage: The "Late Late Show" host will emcee the 70th annual Tony Awards this year. Corden, who is a Tony winner himself thanks to his stint in the 2012 play "One Man, Two Guvnors," has been tapped to host the show honoring the best in Broadway -- and which also, coincidentally, airs on "Late Late Show" home CBS. Neil Patrick Harris previously served as a four-time host between 2009 and 2013 when he was starring on the network's sitcom "How I Met Your Mother." Aside from his built-in CBS connection, Corden is a smart pick for the gig thanks to his success behind the "Late Late" desk, which he took over in March 2015. The host has proven himself adept at crafting comedy bits -- often with the help of big name celebs -- that have gone viral, including his very first show, where he and Tom Hanks acted out every single one of the Oscar winner's roles in only eight minutes. More recently, "Late Late"'s Carpool Karaoke segment has been a smash hit, with the Adele edition racking up more than 62 million views (and counting). Corden's viral savvy, coupled with the assumed coronation of hit musical "Hamilton," will no doubt make this year's ceremony a must-watch. Tony nominations are due out on May 3. Elizabeth Banks to Play Rita Repulsa in 'Power Rangers' Movie Posted: Fresh off her stint playing the wacky, fabulously-dressed Effie Trinket in the "Hunger Games" series, Elizabeth Banks is set to portray another character with iconic fashion sense: Rita Repulsa, the major villainess of the "Power Rangers" series. Banks has just joined the new "Power Rangers" movie, a reboot of the popular -- and campy -- '90s kids show (and subsequent movie) that followed a bunch of teens battling monsters created by Rita, an alien witch who's trying to take over the world. And if you're a "Hunger Games" fan who's eager to see more of Banks in crazy wigs and cracked-out costumes, you're in luck: Rita has been portrayed in the past with some pretty spectacular hair, and an opulent cape and staff to boot. The Hollywood Reporter first broke the news of Banks's casting, followed soon by confirmation from the official Twitter account of the production, and then Banks herself. The actress referenced Rita's origin story from the series in her gleeful message to Twitter followers. "After 10,000 years, I'm free!" Banks wrote on the social media site. "It's time to conquer Earth!!" We're 100 percent on board with this casting, and can't wait to see Banks in all her villainous glory. "Power Rangers" hits theaters on March 24, 2017. Kate Winslet Admits Rose Could've Saved Jack in 'Titanic' Posted: She didn't have to let go. Since the 1997 release of "Titanic," fans have been wondering whether Rose (Kate Winslet) really had to let Jack (Leonardo DiCaprio) slip into the icy waters to freeze to death. Now, Winslet has admitted Rose probably could've saved her star-crossed lover, simply by sharing. "I think he could have actually fit on that bit of door," she said on "Jimmy Kimmel Live." The question of the door came back up when Winslet gave DiCaprio a big hug at the SAG Awards after her former co-star won the Best Actor trophy for his role in "The Revenant." That ignited a flurry on Twitter, with fans joking that they should "Never let go."
"People are always so excited to see Leo and myself in the same space, which at the end of the day, that's so lovely," Winslet told Kimmel. "It's been 20 years and people still get such a kick out of it. It's really quite endearing." Want more stuff like this? Like us on Facebook. 'Archer' Season 7 Trailer Goes Magnum Posted: Meet "Archer P.I."! FX dropped the season 7 trailer for "Archer," and it's a glorious homage to the opening credits of "Magnum P.I." (and reminds us of Adam Scott's "The Greatest Event in Television History"). Archer zips around in his red sports car, stalks through the jungle, and even wears a Hawaiian shirt! Plus there are are shots of Cyril doing Tai Chi and Pam dressed as a rodeo clown! "Archer" undergoes another reboot this season, moving into the world of private investigation. That sounds like it might be similar to season 5, aka "Archer: Vice," which parodied '80s crime shows and turned the whole crew into cocaine dealers. Last season returned to the more normal international spy game, but now Archer is going full Selleck and trying out detective work. "Archer" season 7 premieres Thursday, March 27 on FX. Quiz: Are These Actors Really Redheads? Posted: Actors change their personal appearance about as often -- or sometimes moreso -- than they change roles. Sometimes, however, they've rocked one look for so long that it can come as a shock to learn that what you once thought was genetic is, in fact, the result of having a very talented colorist on speed dial. Case in point: celebrity redheads. Some are real and some have just been faking it for so long our brains have taken it as law. Can you tell the real redheads from their bottle-born counterparts? It's not as easy as you think. This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |
Intense 'Green Room' Trailer Pits Punk Rockers Against Patrick Stewart Posted: Rock and roll and run for your lives! The first full-length trailer for "Green Room" debuted today, and it's got some tantalizing glimpses of Patrick Stewart breaking bad as the villain in the horror-thriller. The movie centers around young punk rockers -- Anton Yelchin, Imogen Poots, Alia Shawkat, and Callum Turner -- who take a gig at a remote Oregon venue. They get way more than they bargained for, though, when they stumble on some neo-Nazis committing murder backstage. Stewart plays the ruthless, violent owner of the club, who's willing to do whatever it takes to shut them up for good. It's a nice departure for the veteran actor -- we're used to seeing him in more stately, dignified roles. The movie has been getting great reviews at Sundance, and, judging by the trailer, it's an action-packed, tense rollercoaster ride. Sign us up. "Green Room" opens in limited release on April 15 and wide release on April 29. Want more stuff like this? Like us on Facebook. This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |
