Watch the First 4 Minutes of 'The Walking Dead' Season 6 Midseason Premiere

Posted:

Walking DeadMy bloody Valentine? "The Walking Dead" returns for its midseason premiere this Sunday, and things are not looking good for Daryl (Norman Reedus), Sasha (Sonequa Martin-Green), and Abraham (Michael Cudlitz) in the opening scene.

AMC released the first four minutes of the episode, which picks up right where it left off in November. The three are stopped by a menacing-looking group of bikers, who turn out to work for the upcoming big bad Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan). We don't get to meet Negan yet, but his name is invoked as his henchmen demand Daryl, Sasha, and Abraham hand over their weapons.
When Abraham asks who Negan is, the lead thug points at gun at him. And when Sasha shouts at him to stop, he points one at her. Will he pull the triggers? We'll have to find out Sunday.

'Broad City' Season 3 Trailer Is Peak #FriendshipGoals

Posted:

Broad CityTrue friendship: making sure your pal has packed their anti-depressants, anti-anxieties, and vibrator!

The full trailer for "Broad City" season 3 is here, and it's a delightful mash of Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer being as wacky, cuckoo, and lovably themselves. There's not much sense of what this season's plots will be, but the trailer does show a lot of funny gags, including Ilana in a dog hoodie and the two of them trying to ride a bike together.
They're still coming up with great business ideas (a gynecologist who's also a bikini waxer really is genius), and helping each other out of tough situations (like when Ilana gets stuck in a chain belt). We also get glimpses at cameos by Cynthia Nixon, Blake Griffin, and Tony Danza.

"Broad City" season 3 premieres Feb. 17 at 10 p.m. on Comedy Central.

Savage! Watch Katie Holmes Destroy Ryan Reynolds at Musical Beers

Posted:

Ryan Reynolds better get up on that couch and jump 'cause he just got owned by Katie Holmes.

Gotta admit, we did not see the former Mrs. Tom Cruise kicking so much butt at a game called "Musical Beers," partly because we never imagined there would be a game called "Musical Beers." Leave it to "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" to introduce the game, which was like musical chairs but with Red Solo cups.

Katie showed she meant business right in the first round, scaring "Deadpool" star Ryan Reynolds with her speed and knocking him out first. (It was smart of her to take those heels off.) She helped knock out Jimmy Fallon next, and made it down to the final two.

You'll have to watch and see if she beat the last remaining member of The Roots. Also, check out the other "Tonight Show" clip where she does her best Beyoncé Super Bowl impression. Let's just say Queen Bey does not have much to worry about.

Eighth 'Harry Potter' Book Will Appear on His 36th Birthday

Posted:

Does anyone else miss gathering for those midnight "Harry Potter" book releases? We all had no lives together and it was awesome! The last book in the seven-novel series, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows," came out in 2007. Not quite 10 years later, J.K. Rowling is promoting our best hope for a sequel book -- the "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" script book, which is coming out right after the opening of the play in London.

According to Pottermore, what's coming out on July 31 -- the shared birthday of Harry Potter and J.K. Rowling -- is a Special Rehearsal Edition of the script book of the new stage play "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Parts I & II."

Here are more details from Pottermore:

"Print and digital editions will publish simultaneously after the play's world premiere this summer, and will comprise of the version of the play script at the time of the play's preview performances.

Theatre previews allow the creative team the chance to rehearse and explore scenes further before a production's official opening night. Harry Potter and the Cursed Child opens for previews several weeks before its official first performance on Saturday 30 July and the Special Rehearsal Edition of the script book will later be replaced by a Definitive Collector's Edition.

Pottermore will bring you further updates on the Definitive Collector's Edition as we learn more."

That Definitive Collector's Edition may be even better, but since most of us won't be able to make it London for the play, it's good to know we can get a book version of this official eighth story in the "Harry Potter" canon just a day after the play opens.

"Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" picks up the story after the 19-year time jump of the "Deathly Hallows" epilogue. This new script book comes out as Harry turns 36 and J.K. Rowling turns 51, so maybe we can all celebrate together by reading the story as a group.

9 Mistakes You Never Noticed in Oscar-Winning Movies

Everyone makes mistakes -- even Hollywood's best and brightest filmmakers.

Oscar-winning movies aren't immune to the occasional gaffe, continuity error, or invasive crewmember body part. With that in mind, we've gathered a few "Wait? What just happened?" moments from some recent and not-so-recent Best Picture Oscar winners, all courtesy of MovieMistakes.com. Leonardo DiCaprio in "The Departed" (2006)

'The Purge: Election Year' Trailer Votes for More Carnage

Posted:

The Purge 3: Election Year (2016) - Trailer No. 1
The first trailer for "The Purge: Election Year" includes a sweeping chorus of "America the Beautiful" as we see shots of guns, blood, and mayhem on the streets -- along with the tagline "Keep America Great." USA! USA! USA! The movie will be released the weekend of July 4th, because this is what happens when Will Smith abandons the holiday.

This is the third movie in the "Purge" franchise and the political theme follows Elizabeth Mitchell ("Lost," "V") as Senator Charlene "Charlie" Roan, the sole survivor of a Purge Night attack on her family 15 years earlier. Now she wants to stop the Purge once and for all, and others would like to stop her. (It's almost like she's a Bernie/Hillary hybrid and the Purge protectors are Trump, but mayyyyybe that's reading too much into things.)

"Election Year," aka "The Purge 3," brings back Frank Grillo and Edwin Hodge, and includes Mykelti Williamson and Betty Gabriel. It's set for a July 1, 2016 release.

Is the 'Game of Thrones' Season 6 Trailer Coming Soon?

Posted:

Sweet summer children everywhere are growing impatient for HBO to drop the first official trailer for "Game of Thrones" Season 6. We've had little teases, but not The Big One. You know what we mean: The first two or three minute trailer, usually set to a great song, leaving us in chills and Twitter convulsing in ALL CAPS HYSTERIA.

The Season 5 trailer arrived at the end of January. Season 4's arrived in mid-January. Season 3's seemed to arrive a bit later, but still in February. "Game of Thrones" Season 6 premieres April 24, which is a week or two later than past seasons, so it's not too surprising that HBO is making us wait a bit longer this year.

Also, even though there's no "official" drop date for the official first trailer, many fans suspect HBO is going to release it this Sunday, February 14 in partnership with the debut of the new series "Vinyl."

If so, that means we only have a few more days to wait to see more teasing shots of Jon Snow, plus Tyrion Lannister, most of the Stark children, and Daenerys Targaryen probably dropping the mic again with another badass quote.

Do you think we'll get the first trailer this Sunday, before this Sunday, or after this Sunday? It has to be one of those options!

Johnny Depp Is Genius as '80s Donald Trump in Epic Funny or Die Video

Posted:

Johnny Depp is having a yuuuuuuuge day. He was just revealed to be starring in Universal's "The Invisible Man" movie, but first you can see him as the very visible Donald Trump in the 50-minute Funny or Die movie, "The Art of the Deal."

Depp and a dozen other major celebs shot this back in December, and it's being presented now as a "lost film" directed by Trump himself in the 1980s, based on his own 1987 advice book. The "TV movie" starts with an intro from Ron Howard, and includes appearances from Alfred Molina, Robert Morse, Patton Oswalt, Jack McBrayer, Michaela Watkins, Henry Winkler, Stephen Merchant, Christopher Lloyd, Kristen Schaal, Andy Richter, Paul Scheer, Rob Huebel, Tymberlee Hill, Alf, Jordan Coleman, Joe Nuñez, and Jeremy Konner.

But the real star is Johnny Depp as Trump, and his impression is pretty strong. JDepp is always at his best when he lays it on thick, and there's really no other option with The Donald.

Here's the synopsis:

"Donald Trump has it all. Money, power, respect, and an Eastern European bride. But all his success didn't come for nothing. First, he inherited millions of dollars from his rich father, then he grabbed New York City by the balls. Now you can learn the art of negotiation, real estate, and high-quality brass in this illuminating made-for-TV special feature, Funny Or Die Presents Donald Trump's The Art Of The Deal: The Movie."

Watch the full video when you have 50 minutes to spare. Stay at least until around the 42-minute mark, when Christopher Lloyd arrives as Doc Brown, who traveled from the year 2016 to the '80s to stop Trump from becoming president.

Rebel Wilson Reveals Her Awkward, 'Sporty' First Head Shot

Posted:

'How To Be Single' - European Premiere - Red Carpet ArrivalsRebel Wilson is the rare celebrity whose first acting head shot is actually as awkward as billed. Usually celebs are annoyingly self-deprecating about pics that aren't bad at all (they'd NEVER show you the really bad stuff) but Rebel just charmed us even more on "Late Night with Seth Meyers," when revealing her first acting photo.

Before Seth broke out the pic, the Australian star of "How to Be Single" said she was having second thoughts since "this is embarrassing." The photo shows Rebel, who is now 35, at age 18 or 19, holding a softball mitt and -- "just in case you didn't know I was sporty" -- also a softball. "I'm also wearing the world's thinnest gold chain. Maybe that's like [saying] 'maybe I could be classy.' But, just so you know my gangster ghetto roots, you've got the graffiti in the background."

Seth said there's so much going on in the photo and so few acting parts where it would work. Rebel admitted she had no idea what she aiming for with the photo. A lot of times people are at their "hottest" at 18 or 19, she said, but both Rebel and Seth agreed that Rebel looks a lot better now, and she said she has improved her modeling.

Watch the video to see the photo, and hear a lot more from Rebel:

A 'Deadpool' Sequel, Featuring Cable, Is Now Being Written

Posted:

If you leave a "Deadpool" showing this weekend, begging for more Merc with a Mouth, you are in luck. Insiders told The Hollywood Reporter that studio 20th Century Fox has already given the green light to a "Deadpool" sequel, with a script now being written by the same screenwriters, Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick.

THR said "Deadpool" director Tim Miller hasn't signed on (yet) to direct this sequel, but Fox wants to keep the original band together. Obviously that would have to include -- who is promoting this movie like his life depends on it. It seems like he's invested in this character for the long haul, although it has to be exhausting to be "on" as much as he has been in the past few months.

Back in September, producer Simon Kinberg told Collider they were already hopeful that there would be another "Deadpool":

"We certainly are talking about the sequel—we were talking about the sequel while we were making the movie just because when you make a film like this that's from a serialized source material, you hope that it's the first of many. But yeah [Fox is] feeling good about it, we're all feeling really proud of it, so hopefully before it comes out we will be well into the process of figuring out a sequel."

At the time, he said the sequel would most likely include the comic book character Cable, but added that talk was "premature." However, ComicBook.com updated February 9 to confirm the "X-Men" character Cable will be involved in the sequel.

Who is Cable? Here's ComicBook.com's description:

"Created by Rob Liefeld, Cable is the son of Cyclops and Madelyne Pryor who made his first appearance in New Mutants #87. A grim, serious character, he's been a frequent foil for Deadpool, especially in the time since Deadpool was established as genre savvy, the differences between the two make for some interesting chemistry and solid humor."

Meanwhile, the first "Deadpool" movie -- which currently sports an 81 percent fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes -- hits theaters this Friday, February 12. The hard R-rated film is meant to have two post-credits scenes, and one of them may just give some hints on what's to come.

15 Sequels That Took Effing Forever to Happen

Posted:

Waiting a decade -- or more -- to make a sequel isn't exactly a widely practiced business model in Hollywood. Lately, the longest you have to wait is two or three years before the next installment in whatever potential or established franchise hits theaters.

In the last couple of years, however, waiting a decade (or more) for a follow-up isn't such a crazy proposition. (Um, hello, "Mad Max: Fury Road.")

To celebrate the release of "Zoolander No. 2", one of Hollywood's longest-gestating sequels, we present the widest gaps between two movies of the same franchise, along with whether or not they were worth the wait. (Spoiler alert: A lot of them are not.)

'Pretty Little Liars' Season 6 Episode 15 Recap: Sara Harvey Is Hiding a *Million* Secrets

Posted:

Wondering what's going on in the magical town of Rosewood? Oh you know, just the usual stalking and murder, nothing to see here. The only new development is that the ladies of "Pretty Little Liars" are 100 percent convinced that Sara Harvey is A due to the fact that she uses emojis. Their brilliant theory? Emojis are easier to type when you have #ElectrocutedHands. *Shrug*
Get caught up on the details in our recap, and please prepare your already-devastated heart because Spencer and Caleb made out all over the place and it was truly horrifying.

In Which Aria Is Disgusted by Her Parents

Last time we checked on Aria she was convinced her dad was a deranged killer, a theory we've been on board with since the formative years of PLL. Tragically for us, Daddy Montgomery has an alibi: he's having middle-aged sex with Aria's mom. Yay for Byron not being a killer, but AUGH, no child should have to see their parents exhibit that much PDA. Praying for you, Aria.

Oh, and speaking of unwanted public displays of affection, Spencer and Caleb are still having sex / seductively eating blueberries together while ruining our lives. Clearly, Freeform has very different ratings than ABC Family, because their scenes are all kinds of steamy, and our eyeballs just can't deal. The good news is that Spencer and Caleb are super smart and actually get things done, including hacking into Toby's girlfriend's phone when she accidentally leaves it at a coffee shop. So far they've found out approximately nothing interesting, but hey — they don't call him Clever Caleb for nothing. (Kidding, no one calls him that.)

In Which A Is Kinda-Sorta-Maybe Taken Down

Look, as much as we love Hanna's shirtless fiance, let's not pretend that this relationship is acceptable to our collective inner shipper. Hanna and Caleb need to be together, and they got a chance to chill (not to be confused with Netflix and Chill) while creating a fake hard-drive to trap A. No, sparks aren't exactly flying, but at least Caleb actually manages to trick A into inserting a faux hard drive (read: secret virus) into his/her computer. A: 1,000. Liars: 1.

In other news, Ali's back in town and takes Emily to donate her eggs. That's sweet and all, but is she by Em's side when she has a crazy fever dream about Sara Harvey drugging her? Nope, not so much. Also, said fever dream might be a reality, so if Emily drops dead you know why.

In Which Sara Harvey Is the Creepiest EVER

Let's talk more about this Sara Harvey character, because there's lots to discuss. First of all, she's taken to lurking around Rosewood High (someone put her on a watch list immediately) and wants to be BFF with Ali. But more importantly, she's staying in CeCe Drake's old cell at the Radley Hotel, a fact that Aria and Spencer find out when they break in. They also find a) a casual collection of fake gloved hands, and b) a tunnel into the depths of the hotel. And yes, Aria gets lost down there, because of course. Did you really have to ask?
