Why You Should Be Watching the 'Scream' TV Series Posted: 04 Aug 2015 09:00 PM PDT There's a Scream TV series, and if you're like most people I mention the show to you were either completely unaware of this or you knew about it and wrote it off without ever watching it. But you should, because it's kind of fantastic. It takes everything great from Wes Craven and Kevin Williamson's original slasher and repurposes it for a new, more socially connected generation. And while I realize that sounds like a disaster scenario where dumb teens are getting killed because they're too busy Instagramming selfies or something, it all works surprisingly well. Here's why. First, no, it doesn't have anything to do with the original Scream. This isn't a continuation of the story of the Woodsboro massacres. The kids in it aren't the... The One 'Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation' Scene Tom Cruise Had to Be Talked Into Doing Posted: 04 Aug 2015 06:00 PM PDT If you've seen the new Mission: Impossible movie, you get a feeling there ain't much Tom Cruise won't do. He'll hang from the wing of an airplane as it takes off, and then learn how to hold his breath underwater for six minutes straight (which is insane when you think about it for more than a second). He can drive cars backwards down flights of stairs and ride motorcycles at upwards of 200mph. But when I sat down with writer-director Chris McQuarrie to talk about Rogue Nation, I learned there was one particular scene he had to convince Cruise -- and the studio -- to do: the opera house sequence. Believe it or not, that was the only time anybody hesitated," McQuarrie told me in an interview for Fandango. "Nobody hesitated about the... Watch the Pilot for a 'Clerks' TV Show That Never Aired Posted: 04 Aug 2015 01:44 PM PDT Looking to feed off the success of Kevin Smith's indie sensation Clerks, a pilot was ordered in the mid-'90s for a more sanitized TV show featuring the same main characters (Dante and Randal), a mini-mart setting and a laugh track. The show was produced without the involvement of Smith -- a fact that becomes more evident after you realize Jay and Silent Bob are nowhere to be found in this version -- and the humor, while similar to the movie at times (like how Randal continues to harass customers), is way too tame to appeal to hardcore fans of the film. Check out the full pilot below. Eventually Smith took hold of his brand and produced his own offshoots of Clerks, including a comic shop called Jay & Silent Bob's Secret Stash, as well as comic books, animated... Posted: 04 Aug 2015 12:00 PM PDT X-Men: Apocalypse: Alexandra Shipp appears as the mutant known as Storm in a new image shared by director Bryan Singer from behind the scenes of X-Men: Apocalypse. Note that in the lower part of the image, the actress is merged with "CG-created backgrounds and settings in real time," using technology known as simulcan. The movie is heading to theaters on May 27, 2016. [Collider] Jurassic World 2: Writer/director Colin Trevorrow (Jurassic World, above with Chri Pratt) began dropping hints about where the sequel might go even before it was officially confirmed recently.
