But you should, because it's kind of fantastic. It takes everything great from Wes Craven and Kevin Williamson's original slasher and repurposes it for a new, more socially connected generation. | Watch the Pilot for a 'Clerks' TV Show That Never Aired Posted: 04 Aug 2015 01:44 PM PDT Looking to feed off the success of Kevin Smith's indie sensation Clerks, a pilot was ordered in the mid-'90s for a more sanitized TV show featuring the same main characters (Dante and Randal), a mini-mart setting and a laugh track. The show was produced without the involvement of Smith -- a fact that becomes more evident after you realize Jay and Silent Bob are nowhere to be found in this version -- and the humor, while similar to the movie at times (like how Randal continues to harass customers), is way too tame to appeal to hardcore fans of the film.
