'The Walking Dead' Season 6 Spoilers Reveal Major New Location and Character Posted: "The Walking Dead" Season 6 is on a mini filming break right now, but it'll be back in business on August 17 to shoot the second half of the 16-episode season, which premieres Sunday, October 11 on AMC. In the second half, we should visit at least one new location from the comic book: Hilltop Colony. *Comic book and filming spoilers ahead* In the second half of Season 5, Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and company arrived in Alexandria, Virginia, which is the No. 1 location where the story should be based for a long time (although filming is still based in Georgia). But in the comic book, once Rick and company are in Alexandria, they start to learn about other communities in the area. They come across a guy named Paul Monroe, who has the nickname "Jesus" in part for his appearance. He's based at a large farming community called Hilltop Colony and the "Walking Dead" location peeps appear to be building the place. Here are some spoiler photos from July and more recently in August:
It also looks like a casting notice was released for a character that sounds like Jesus. According to Spoil the Dead, AMC is looking for "Jason" (probably a placeholder name) to start in Episode 10 and be around for the end of the season and beyond: If this "Jason" is Jesus, that's good news for viewers. Jesus is a very popular, badass character who becomes close with Rick Grimes. If Jesus shows up in Episode 10, and they follow the comic, he won't have the best first meeting with Rick's group, but eventually he should show Rick Hilltop ... maybe by Episode 13 or 14? Just a guess. Who will play Jesus? That might be the next big question. And then the Negan talk will start back up again. One thing at a time, though. Do you agree that it looks like Jesus and Hilltop are coming our way in the second half of Season 6? We'll get all the answers when 6B airs from mid-February to late March/early April 2016. 'Lord of the Rings' Fans Launch $3 Billion Quest to Build Minas Tirith Posted: Why not Rivendell? Just asking. A bunch of J.R.R. Tolkien fans in the United Kingdom have launched a fund-raising page called "Realise Minas Tirith" to create "a beautiful, inspirational and fully-functioning replica of Peter Jackson's depiction of Minas Tirith, as seen in his Lord of the Rings films." Minis Tirith is the capital city in Gondor, as featured in "The Return of the King." They acknowledge they have no rights to the name "Minis Tirith" and will "happily cancel this project should any dispute arise over such." They also tell fellow fans "Please only donate within your means, and in the knowledge that this project is a light-hearted venture with virtually no chance of succeeding." They add that if they don't reach their goal of £1.85bn, aka around $3 billion, the pledges will be canceled. So the stakes are bargain basement low, and maybe it's impressive (or sad?) that anyone has pledged anything at all, even if they are nowhere near the goal. So far, £64,173 has been pledged by 1,616 people in 14 days, which is just about $100,000 in U.S. dollars. There are 46 days left, but -- just a guess -- they probably won't reach the $3B mark. Still, the creators thought this through, and said most of the money would go into building costs, with the rest invested in maintenance and public services for a livable city until the year 2053. "We would commence work on Minas Tirith by the end of 2016, and complete the project by the end of 2023. We are currently considering two locations for Minas Tirith, both in southern England." Let's say this thing magically gets an investor with way too much money to burn and it really happens. How cool would it be to visit a real-life Minas Tirith? Would it have its own king? 'Spectre' Will Show Origin Story of 'How Bond Became Bond' Posted: James Bond is a man of action -- shake, don't stir! -- and he's usually too focused on moving forward to look back. But director Sam Mendes told Entertainment Weekly that "Spectre" is a culmination of the three previous Daniel Craig Bond movies while developing 007's mostly unexplored backstory. As Mendes put it: Mendes told EW that Bond was "rebooted" at the end of "Skyfall" but that was just the beginning of the story, which is picked up by "Spectre." Daniel Craig added to EW: Every classic Bond thriller needs a Bond villain, and who better than Christoph Waltz? He plays Oberhauser, the self-described "author" of all Bond's pain. Sam Mendes previously told BBC Radio of "Spectre": "This is a bigger movie than 'Skyfall.' It's shot in more places - we were in Mexico City and Tangiers and northern Sahara and Rome and the Alps and London. It's been an enormous undertaking." "Spectre" is coming out on November 6. 5 Reasons Why Jennifer Lawrence Should Be Cast as Captain Marvel Posted: Jennifer Lawrence has room on her resume for one more Marvel franchise. Contractually, "X-Men: Apocalypse" is set to be Lawrence's last on-screen appearance as shapeshifter Mystique. Unless a new deal can be worked out, the once and future Katniss will be free from the house that Charles Xavier built. Which means her dance card will be open, and what better movie to fill it than with Marvel's upcoming "Captain Marvel," set for release July 2018? Fans (and the internet) have been clamoring for Carol Danvers to get the big screen treatment ever since Phase One of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Several actors are rumored to be in the running (like frontrunner Emily Blunt), and while they would do a solid job in the role, here are five reasons why Marvel needs to cast a member of the X-Men as Captain Marvel. 'Excited' Benicio Del Toro Talks 'Star Wars: Episode VIII' Villain Role Posted: It's not a bad day when you get a call from the "Star Wars" team. Benicio Del Toro was recently said to be in talks to play a villain in "Star Wars: Episode VIII," the 2017 movie coming after this December's "Episode VII - The Force Awakens." Entertainment Tonight asked Benicio about the potential "Star Wars" role and it sounds like he's ready to go: Yeah, don't risk it! Variety had said the studio also met with Joaquin Phoenix, and they noted that "a deal is still far away from coming together," so it may be too soon to say anything for sure. But we can't blame him for being excited. "I saw the original one when it came out and it marked me," Benicio, 48, said of the 1977 "Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope." "I was impressed by the film and by the characters and by the story and the message." Best of luck to Benicio on confirming the role. With or without him, Rian Johnson is directing "Episode VIII," which will be released May 26, 2017. Want more stuff like this? Like us on Facebook. Key 'Toy Story 4' Plot Detail Revealed Posted: An intriguing piece of the "Toy Story 4" puzzle was just revealed during Disney's D23 Expo. John Lasseter confirmed that the movie will follow a romance for Tom Hanks' Woody, adding to CNBC: Bo Peep, eh? That has some fans asking, "What about Jessie?" But maybe we'll see Jessie with Buzz. (This could easily veer into soap opera territory, but since the movie is ostensibly for kids, hopefully not.) According to Lasseter, "At Pixar and at Disney, we only make sequels if we come up with a story that's as good or better than the original. That's our rule. We don't do things just to print money." Pixar has a remarkable track record, not just for success but also for quality, so we're cautiously optimistic for "Toy Story 4," even though we would've been OK to see the story end on the strong note of the last movie, which came out in 2010. It's rare for a franchise to produce three great movies, so if they believe they have an equally great fourth in them, we're here for it. "Toy Story 4" has a release date of June 16, 2017. 15 Celebrity MILFs (Moms I'd Like to Friend) Posted: Everyone loves a good MILF, amiright? Get your mind out of the gutter. We don't mean it like that -- we're talking Moms I'd Like to Friend. "That's creepier," you say. "We can't hear you," we say. Judge if you must, but if loving these celebrity moms is wrong, we don't want to be right. They've got some of the cutest kids around, AND they make the whole mom thing look easy (yes, we realize they probably have a huge staff of nannies, assistants, drivers, tutors, etc.) When they're not busy actually parenting, we'd love to set up play dates, coffee dates, and double dates with these moms and their partners. Here are 15 Hollywood moms who aren't just regular moms, they're cool moms we'd totally want to hang out with. This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |
Jay Leno Slams Jimmy Kimmel, Blames His 'Mean Streak' For Lower Ratings Posted: Jay Leno may still be smarting from that time Jimmy Kimmel slayed him during the Jay/Conan "Tonight Show" feud, since he's now dissing Kimmel's "mean-based" humor as the source of his not-quite-"Tonight" ratings. It's time for a late-night catfight! Jimmy, a huge David Letterman fan, was probably already anti-Jay after the first "Tonight Show" feud between Jay and Dave, when they fought for Carson's chair. When Jay ended up in a late night battle with Conan O'Brien, Jimmy appeared to back Team Coco. Jimmy broke out his not-so-flattering Jay impression on "Jimmy Kimmel Live," then pretty much destroyed Jay -- to his face -- as Jay's own guest on "The Jay Leno Show." Here's how that went: Jimmy Kimmel DESTROYS Jay Leno as a guest on... by Giagantor Fast forward to 2015 and Jay Leno is returning to TV with "Jay Leno's Garage" on CNBC. TV Insider talked to Jay about his stand-up, and of course asked if he ever watched any of the new late-night shows, now starring Seth Meyers, Jimmy Fallon, Stephen Colbert, Conan and Kimmel. Here's Jay's response, complete with serious Kimmel shade: Oof. That's almost worthy of its own "Mean Tweet" segment on Kimmel. Jimmy has a sharp sense of humor, and he's known for his pranks, but he definitely has a heart -- as shown in his defense of Cecil and attack on sport hunting. He also just officiated Jennifer Aniston's wedding. "Jimmy Kimmel Live" has actually been on repeats for the past two weeks, so Jimmy had no chance to make a quip about Jay's latest diss. We'll have to see if he addresses it or just lets it stand. It's OK to have different styles of humor, so maybe nothing more needs to be said. But for the record, at least from here, those Halloween candy pranks are hilarious. Want more stuff like this? Like us on Facebook. 'Inside Out' Has a Sequel, 'Riley's First Date,' and Here's the Cute First Clip Posted: One year after the story of "Inside Out," a boy seen briefly in the Disney/Pixar movie comes to Riley's house to visit her. Well ... RED ALERT! What happens next is part of the short film "Riley's First Date," and here's the first clip from that sequel: ABC Latest News | Latest News Videos Haha. Embarrassing parents bein' embarrassing. All dads probably do have a "Boy! Boy! Boy!" red alert, especially when one shows up to see their 12-year-old daughter. You might remember, the boy in the clip had his own "Girl! Girl! Girl!" alarm when Riley tried to talk to him at the hockey rink in "Inside Out." "Riley's First Date" features the vocal returns of Amy Poehler (Joy), Phyllis Smith (Sadness), Bill Hader (Fear), Lewis Black (Anger) and Mindy Kaling (Disgust), plus Kyle MacLachlan and Diane Lane as Riley's parents. According to Zap2it, the short will be included as a bonus feature with the "Inside Out" Digital HD (October 14) and Blu-ray (November 3) releases. Want more stuff like this? Like us on Facebook. 'Prison Break' Star Addresses That Obvious Sequel Spoiler Question Posted: "Prison Break" fans were excited to hear about the limited series sequel in the works at Fox, but one big question was left hanging over the revival. *SPOILER ALERT* How, exactly, was Wentworth Miller going to return as main character Michael Scofield when Michael died in the two-hour TV movie finale? Well, without giving away any spoilers, Dominic Purcell, who is returning as Michael's brother Lincoln, told E! News, "I know that we're starting from where we left off on the show. I know that story but I can't tell you what it is. It's really exciting though. It will make sense for the fans." By "show," does he mean where the show ended in 2009 including the TV movie finale or before the finale? For now, we have to assume they'll show us that Michael did not actually die, maybe in some Bourne-level deception where it seemed like he was dead but there's more to the story. But we'll see. Dominic wouldn't share any plot teasers but he did tell E! that "There's a lot of traveling involved, that's all I can say." OK, that does sound Bourne-ish -- not to unnecessarily make this about Jason Bourne but, you know, that wouldn't be a bad thing. The same but he's dead! question was asked by a fan to TVLine: As long as it makes sense we'll roll with it. And heck, even if it comes off as a stretch it's not like we'll stop watching. "Prison Break," "24," "Mission: Impossible," the "Bourne" movies -- sometimes you have to suspend disbelief to enjoy the ride. 'Hannah Montana' Gave Miley Cyrus Serious Body Image Issues Posted: Like Ariel Winter before her, Miley Cyrus is speaking out about the creepy standards Hollywood sets for its young female stars, and the singer says that she struggled with severe body image issues while starring on Disney Channel hit "Hannah Montana." In an interview with Marie Claire, Cyrus revealed that playing the titular pop star on the kids show caused her to suffer from anxiety attacks and wrestle with daily exhaustion. But that's nothing compared to the messages that Cyrus said she was fed on a near-daily basis about what it means to be beautiful: skinny, blonde, and slathered in makeup. "From the time I was 11, it was, 'You're a pop star! That means you have to be blonde, and you have to have long hair, and you have to put on some glittery tight thing,'" Cyrus told Marie Claire. "Meanwhile, I'm this fragile little girl playing a 16-year-old in a wig and a ton of makeup. It was like 'Toddlers & Tiaras.'" That eventually morphed into insecurities about her body that Cyrus says she's only just now getting over, years later. "I was told for so long what a girl is supposed to be from being on that show," she explained. "I was made to look like someone that I wasn't, which probably caused some body dysmorphia because I had been made pretty every day for so long, and then when I wasn't on that show, it was like, Who the fuck am I?" Today, Cyrus is more self-assured, and though she still gets caught off-guard looking at so-called "perfect" images of edited photos, she's eager to change beauty standards -- but not as a spokesmodel. "[M]y dream was never to sell lip gloss," Cyrus told the magazine. "My dream is to save the world." For more from Cyrus, check out the story over at Marie Claire. LeBron James Confirms He Wants to Make 'Space Jam 2' Posted: It's not a sure thing yet, but after weeks of speculation, NBA star LeBron James has finally confirmed the rumors: he wants to make a sequel to "Space Jam." In an interview with Today that aired on Friday, James discussed his recent partnership with Warner Bros., the studio behind the 1996 Looney Tunes/basketball mashup flick. While the athlete (and current "Trainwreck" star) said that he hopes to pursue other projects in the entertainment industry once his NBA career is over, one property in particular has piqued a lot of interest -- and James didn't shy away from fueling the fire. "We're definitely missing Bugs and Daffy and Tasmanian Devil and and every last one of them," James said when asked about the possibility of making "Space Jam 2," "so hopefully we can do some great things." It seems like a no-brainer for Warner Bros. -- which reportedly recently renewed some important "Space Jam" trademarks, in a move ramping up the sequel speculation -- and James's commitment to the idea should help fast-track the concept. Now, the ball is in the studio's court; here's hoping they take a shot. [via: Today] Photo credit: Getty Images This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |
The 'Fantastic Four' Shoot Was 'Chaos,' and Josh Trank Was Almost Fired: Report Posted: A scathing new report about the filming of "Fantastic Four" has provided some insight into how and why the underwhelming film -- which was widely panned and majorly flopped at the box office -- turned out the way it did, and it seems that the flick was a disaster from the start. The Hollywood Reporter did some digging and spoke to several sources about the allegedly arduous production process, and it turns out that the rumors of director Josh Trank being difficult to work with were just the tip of the iceberg. According to one crew member who spoke to THR, Trank "built a black tent around his monitor" and would hole up in there or in his trailer alone for entire shooting days, emerging only to film a scene. The director reportedly insisted on pushing "a gloomy tone" on the cast (Miles Teller, Michael B. Jordan, Kate Mara, and Jamie Bell), and was "telling [castmembers] when to blink and when to breathe," an insider told THR. "[M]ultiple sources associated with the project say the director did not produce material that would have opened the way to a salvageable film," THR wrote. "And by several accounts, he resisted help." Eventually, talk turned to firing Trank, but a source told THR that that suggestion came too late in the production process, and would have required essentially scrapping the entire movie and losing the cast -- a huge financial blow. Instead, studio Fox enlisted producers Simon Kinberg and Hutch Parker to slap together a different ending, and commissioned reshoots without key actors (only Teller was available, and shot scenes on a green screen alongside body doubles). Director Drew Goddard was reportedly brought in to supervise. "It was chaos," according to one crew member. But the blame doesn't stop there. Per THR:

Best of Late Night TV: Kristen Wiig's 'Late Night' Voice-Over and Alicia Vikander's Drinking Game Posted: If you're like us and value your sleep, you probably nodded off into your Ambien dreamland before the party started on post-prime time TV. Don't worry; we've got you covered. Here's the best of what happened last night on late night. Let's kick things off with some comedy gold, shall we? Kristen Wiig visited "Late Night" to serve up some alternate dubbed dialogue for Seth's monologue. Her partner in dubbing crime? Fred Armisen. Meanwhile, Titus Burgess swung by and chatted about working with Tina Fey (aka the Best Boss of All Time), and -- more importantly -- singing Beyonce with her on a private plane. #Blessed Over on "The Tonight Show," Paul Giamatti spoke about his awesome wig in "Straight Outta Compton," as well as his love for Ice Cube. Honestly, who doesn't love Ice Cube? Kevin Bacon recently shared a hilarious TBT of himself as a nerdy teen, which was apparently taken the day before he was mugged and beaten up with his own shoes. Must-watch story right here. Finally, and most amazingly, Alicia Vikander stopped by "The Tonight Show" and promptly did shots and danced around like a frog with Jimmy Fallon, as ya do.
