Recap of 'Pretty Little Liars' Season 6 Finale: Find Out A's Identity! Posted: You're entire life has been leading up to this moment: the moment you finally find out who A is on "Pretty Little Liars." You'll have to read the recap below to discover the truth about everyone's favorite stalker (not to be confused with Ezra Fitz), but all you really need to know is that our feelings are best summarized by this "DHSJAKDHSJAKHDSJKAHDSJAK." Basically, this A reveal was even huger than when Toby got high on gummy bears and was tripping on the streets of Rosewood. And A Is... Last week's episode ended with Ali coming face-to-face with Charles DiLaurentis, and this week she wakes up in a creepy bunker next to her comatose dad and brother. LOL, A, keep doing you! Meanwhile, the little liars meet up with Mona at prom, who informs them Charles has his own cellular network located at the Carrisimi Group. The liars head to a the company headquarters and quickly discover a live feed of Ali talking to...wait for it...Cece Drake. BOOM, bet you didn't see that coming! Unless you did, in which case congratulations. A's Backstory as a Transgender Child Is Revealed So, turns out Cece (aka Charles) was carted off to an asylum because her dad couldn't accept her for being transgender. The good news is that when Cece turned twelve, Ali's mom bought her a yellow dress and began embracing her identity, which kind of makes up for the whole "we're the worst parents of all time" thing. Sadly, everything went south when Cece met fellow sanitarium inmate, Bethany Young. Bethany pretended to be Cece's friend, but was secretly murderous and transphobic. In fact, she killed Toby's mom on the roof of Radley Sanitarium, and then blamed the incident on Cece. Sure, she was innocent, but Mrs. DiLaurentis paid off Detective Wilden to rule Mrs. Cavanaugh's death a suicide just in case. After spending a few years in a cell, Cece (who was called Charlotte at the time), was granted permission to attend college, where she wasted no time calling in a bomb threat and booking it to Rosewood. So, what did she get up to while in town? Why, she casually started dating her brother, Jason DiLaurentis, of course! *We assume you are feeling vaguely ill right now due to #PLLincest, so please take a moment to collect yourself. At this point, Bethany decided she should kill Jessica DiLaurentis as payback for dating her dad (girl had issues), so she wandered over to Rosewood and tried to off her. The problem? Cece killed her first! Only she didn't, because she was too busy accidentally killing Ali. Apparently all blondes in Rosewood look the same -- it could happen to anyone, ok? Cece ended up burying Ali's body in a grave with her mom's help, but little did they know she was actually alive. Dun, dun, duuuuun! Who Is Red Coat? So, who killed Bethany? Apparently, Mona did -- but only because she was actually trying to kill Ali. Yep, she also has a lot of confusion when it comes to blonde hair + murder, and who can blame her? Anyway, no one seems too upset that Mona's a killer, so let's move on to Red Coat. Turns out Cece assumed A's identity after talking to a drugged-up Mona in Radley Sanitarium, and was further inspired by Sara Harvey (aka Red Coat). Cece and Sara teamed up to take the liars down, and their motive? Getting the girls back for being mean to Ali in high school! (And also just general insanity.) Oh, and in other news Sara killed Detective Wilden. So yes, Emily has the worst taste in girlfriends ever. Five Years Into the Future After listening to A's backstory over a live feed, the liars rush to stop Sara from blowing them to smithereens with a homemade bomb. The good news is that they successfully prevent her from killing everyone (and Em punches her in the face), but the bad news is that poor A can't handle being caught and ends up turning herself in after a suicide attempt. Where will the show go from here, you ask? Oh, just five years into the future. It's casual. Apparently, the girls graduate college and Alison starts working as a teacher with the faux name Mrs. Rollins, which sounds fabulous, but actually isn't. You see, things get intense real fast when the liars storm into Ali's classroom and announce that someone's after her. The question on everyone's minds? Who?! Also, here's to hoping that the PLL's fleet of drunk moms were let out of the basement. This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |

Britney Spears Will Guest Star on 'Jane the Virgin' Season 2 Posted: There were plenty of high-profile guest stars sprinkled throughout the first season of charming CW series "Jane the Virgin," including Jane Seymour, Rita Moreno, Cheech Marin, and Paulina Rubio, to name a few. But the bar has officially been raised for the upcoming second season: Britney Spears is set for a cameo on the show. The pop star revealed the news herself on Twitter, writing that she would be stopping by the Marbella hotel, where the titular character works. Spears also professed her love for the critical darling, writing that "Jane" is "one of my favorite shows EVER." Showrunner Jennie Snyder Urman followed up Spears's announcement with a statement explaining how the singer will fit into the show, and it sounds pretty fantastic. "We are so thrilled that Rogelio's [Jaime Camil] 'nemesis' - Britney Spears - has agreed to appear on 'Jane The Virgin' in episode 205," Urman said. "Personally, after hearing about their long standing fued (from Rogelio's point of view), we are eager to hear Ms. Spears' side of the story, which we assume is quite different. #TeamBritney." Urman also added on Twitter that Spears's casting was a "Dream come true" for the series. We concur. We can't wait to see how a Rogelio-Britney "feud" plays out (and it makes total sense that Rogelio is the bigger diva of the two). Season two of "Jane the Virgin" is set to premiere on The CW on October 12. 'The Notebook' May Become a CW Series Posted: It was previously adapted into a cult classic film starring Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling; could "The Notebook" blossom as a television series, too? That's what The CW will try to find out, with Entertainment Weekly reporting that the network is currently developing a show based around the Nicholas Sparks romance novel. According to EW, the "Notebook" series will draw inspiration from both the 1996 book and the 2004 movie, and Sparks himself will serve as an executive producer on the project. Here's the official synopsis for the show, per EW:
While EW sounds a bit skeptical about a "Notebook" series's place on the superhero- and rom-com-heavy network's slate, this project actually seems like the perfect match for The CW. After all, it's a network that's catered to young women throughout its existence ("Hart of Dixie" and "Jane the Virgin" come to mind), and has a current hit with "Reign," another female-centric show which is also in the historical period drama vein that "The Notebook" will tap. Stay tuned to see if this show makes it off the ground. [via: Entertainment Weekly] Photo credit: friskytuna/Flickr This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |
Dominic Purcell Reveals the Real Reason for the 'Prison Break' Reboot Posted: ALICIA RANCILIO, Associated Press LOS ANGELES (AP) - Dominic Purcell says if you want to thank someone for the idea to reboot Fox's "Prison Break," that would be Wentworth Miller. "'Prison Break' wouldn't happen if Wentworth didn't want to do it," Purcell told The Associated Press Monday at a CBS party for the TV Critics Association. Purcell and Miller played brothers on the popular Fox show. Their story began with Miller's character getting purposely sent to prison with an elaborate plan to break out his brother, who was on death row. "Prison Break" aired for four seasons from 2005-2009. Last week, Fox announced it would bring the show back in 2016 for a 10-episode event series. The two actors will also share the screen on the midseason CW series "DC's Legends of Tomorrow." Purcell plays Heat Wave and Miller is Captain Cold. "Wentworth was the one who suggested me for ('Legends'), said Purcell. "The producers said, 'Do you know anyone that's kind of a force of nature? That's rough, that's edgy, that's crazy?' He said, 'I've got just the guy.'" Purcell describes "Legends of Tomorrow" as "like 'Avengers' every week," with heroes and villains from the DC Comics universe teaming up to save the world. The show is a spin-off of both "Arrow" and "The Flash" on The CW. Purcell says "DC's Legends of Tomorrow" begins shooting in September and on their summer hiatus, he and Miller will go straight into production on "Prison Break." "It's exciting. I'm in a privileged, unique position," he said. This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |
Zac Efron May Join Dwayne Johnson in the 'Baywatch' Movie Posted: Zac Efron may be getting ready for yet another shirtless performance: The actor is reportedly in talks to star in the "Baywatch" movie. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Efron is poised to join the flick, based on the popular '90s syndicated series about red swimsuit-clad lifeguards in California, as one of the leads. Dwayne Johnson, the other lead, is spearheading the adaptation, which will be directed by Seth Gordon ("Horrible Bosses"). THR notes that Efron's casting is the next key piece in the "Baywatch" movie puzzle, and production should start sometime in early 2016. That comes after years of stops and starts for the project, which has been kicking around Hollywood for what seems like forever. The film, which is said to be striving for a tone similar to the recent hit "21 Jump Street" franchise, will focus on "a by-the-book and very serious lifeguard (Johnson) who is forced to team up with a young rule-flouting hothead (Efron) in order to save their beach from environmental destruction at the hands of an oil tycoon," per THR. Here's hoping that original star David Hasselhoff makes an appearance (perhaps as the oil tycoon?), too. If all goes according to plan, expect "Baywatch" to make a slow-motion run toward theaters sometime in 2017. Matthew Perry & Matt LeBlanc Weren't Invited to Jennifer Aniston's Wedding Posted: Were they not really friends after all? Jennifer Aniston surprised everyone last week when she secretly wed fiance Justin Theroux during an impromptu ceremony at the couple's home. But two surprising names didn't make the guest list: Aniston's "Friends" costars Matthew Perry and Matt LeBlanc. The actors revealed that shocking omission this week during an interview with People at a Television Critics Association event in Los Angeles. But according to the former Chandler and Joey, there are no hard feelings. Both actors wished Aniston and Theroux well, with LeBlanc calling the newlyweds "a great couple." "I think she's happy. And that's all I care about is that Jen's happy," LeBlanc told People, revealing that he also missed the actress's first wedding, to ex-husband Brad Pitt, back in 2000, because he was off shooting a movie in Austria. "If she wanted me there, I would have been there," LeBlanc said of Aniston's marriage to Theroux. As for Perry, he told People that the pair's surprise nuptials -- the couple used the ruse of a birthday party for Theroux to gather pals together, before springing the wedding ceremony on the guests -- were also a surprise to him, though he had nothing but good things to say about his former castmate and her new husband. "They're a lovely couple, and I'm happy for them," Perry told People. " ... I wasn't invited. So what can you do?" As Chandler would say: Could they BE any more gracious? No word yet from David Schwimmer, the only other "Friend" whose guest list status is unknown. Both Lisa Kudrow and Courteney Cox were in attendance for the hush-hush August 5 ceremony. 'Man From UNCLE' Director Guy Ritchie Reveals the Cool Action Scene You'll Never See Posted: "The Man From UNCLE" is full of explosions, car chases and fist fights. But even a summer blockbuster as big as this one doesn't have room for all its action scenes. Moviefone recently sat down with director Guy Ritchie and his cowriter/producer Lionel Wigram to chat one major set piece that didn't make the final cut as it was originally shot, but they did find a very inventive way to work the footage in. The end result of the scene? Kinda awesome. "UNCLE" hits theaters this Friday. This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |

Sarah Michelle Gellar Pays Tribute to Robin Williams on One-Year Anniversary of His Death Posted: One year after his devastating death, Hollywood is still mourning actor Robin Williams, who died on August 11, 2014 after he hung himself in his California home. Tributes for the star have been pouring in ever since, and one of the most touching is from his former co-star, Sarah Michelle Gellar. In an Instagram post timed to the anniversary of his passing, Gellar remembered Williams, with whom she starred on the short-lived CBS series "The Crazy Ones," which aired for one season from 2013 to 2014. The actress shared a snap of the famous Boston bench from Williams's Oscar-winning film "Good Will Hunting," which has become an unofficial monument to the late actor, along with the following quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson:
Gellar added in her own comment, addressed to Williams, "You succeeded RW." We couldn't agree more. RIP, Robin. [via: Sarah Michelle Gellar] Photo credit: Getty Images This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |
This Is Why You Will Never Find the Perfect Movie Theater Seat Posted: LEANNE ITALIE, Associated Press NEW YORK (AP) - Too close! Too far back! Middle? No way, aisle. When it comes to where you plant yourself in a movie theater, you're either a seat-specific Goldilocks or you're with one. And if, by some miracle, you and your date, spouse, friend or gang from work DO agree on where to sit, chances are you've been privy to an angsty pre-show spat or two among the seat-selecting stressed. Are movie-seat beefs legit, in the scheme of not-hugely-important problems, or have we lost our minds to the point where not even assigned seating can save us? "My best friend has very strict rules on movie theater seating and it drives me insane," said Gina Mazzone in Bloomfield, New Jersey. "Originally, she would make us change our seats multiple times until she was happy." But wait. Said best friend, Caitlin Quagliato, has her reasons. "I'm just super picky. I try to avoid distractions. I don't like to sit too close because my neck strains. I don't like to sit too far away because I can't see," she said. "It drives my sister crazy, too. I get headaches and nobody wants to deal with me during migraines. That could be what started it." The two 24-year-olds who met in college about four years ago remain regular movie companions, but they now stick mostly to a theater that allows for assigned seating, though - Mazzone said - "she still complains." Anthony Pomes, 43, in the Suffolk County hamlet of East Northport, New York, doesn't complain so much as feel very, very passionately about the subject. And he doesn't routinely have the benefit of assigned seating. It's all about "maximum movie-ness," he said, noting in particular the importance of center screen viewing and sound balance for digital systems used in theaters today. So where is his sweet spot? "For at least the past 15 to 20 years, I have very persistently insisted that those with whom I see movies in a theater join me smack dab in the middle of the aisle somewhere between 10, but no more than 13, rows away from the movie screen," Pomes said. Irene Myers, 34, in Philadelphia isn't having it. She goes to a movie most weeks, about 60 percent of the time by herself to avoid the "where-are-we-sitting conversation." It's all about control when grouped with a huge theater full of strangers, she surmised. Movie seating, to a film buff like Pomes, is "as near to a religion as Scorsese's 'Last Temptation,'" he said, regularly dragging his wife and 18-year-old twins to theaters at least an hour ahead of show time. "When we don't get the good seats we want, the whole feng shui is just blown," he said. "To me it's art. I would never go to a museum gallery and not look at everything." Does this, er, fever have an origin? "It's some kind of weird hybrid of, like, elitism and sort of trying to get home again, because I do regard film as primal," Pomes said. "My older brother took me to see 'Star Wars' in 1977. I was 5 or 6. It has that shot of that ship that just keeps going over your head. We were between rows 10 and 13. I remember that specifically." There are other things that make Pomes a "bit batty" about movie seating. "I don't like there to be lights coming in from another room that you see on the screen. It's ritualistic and it should be. I mean Scorsese once talked about it being like how he felt when he was a kid in church. But my wife does think sometimes that I go a little beyond," he said. Afam Onyema, 36, in Los Angeles, has other things on his mind. He's a big guy, a former college linebacker, with a wee movie-going bathroom issue. He can't make it through one without a pit stop mid-movie and finds himself in seating negotiations all the time. The seats he seeks from friends and surreptitiously angles for with dates are on an aisle or front row, second tier behind the rail in theaters that have raised sections separated by a wide walking aisle. "It's embarrassing. My friends will say, 'It's only two hours' and I'm, like, 'I know. I'm not doing it on purpose! This way I can just hop over the rail without kicking popcorn all over the floor or stepping on some old person's shoes." But inevitable conflicts arise for prime real estate-seeking Onyema, who goes to three or four movies a month. "There are some friends who want to be in the middle and they worry that if we're on the aisle people are going to be bothering us to get out. It's definitely a give and take," he said. "If it's 'Lord of the Rings' length or something like that, I'm going to push to be on the aisle or the railing. If it's a shorter movie, I'll say 'OK, I'll let you have this one.'" Daniel Collins and his wife don't get to the movies that frequently, but with his long legs, the distinct possibility of a work call he can't miss and some prostate issues at 52, he's an aisle man. Getting there early enough to nab a good one isn't fun. "My wife, who should be teaching master's courses in procrastination, can be a challenge to get out the door," said Collin, in suburban Baltimore. "But she's working hard at improving, and I'm working hard at not being so, 'If we're not 15 minutes early we're late.'" This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |
'Star Wars,' 'True Detective' Mashup Is the Best Thing You'll See Today Posted: How does one cure their "True Detective" blues? By mashing the HBO series with "Star Wars," obviously. This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |
'True Detective' Season 2 Finale Ratings Down Double Digits From Season 1 Posted: "True Detective" season 2 didn't just suffer in critical acclaim in comparison to season 1; its ratings were also down. Sunday's season 2 finale drew 2.73 million viewers, a 22 percent drop from the season 1 finale. The only good news is that ratings rose for the finale 25 percent from the series-low Aug. 2 episode. Season 1 of the HBO drama was applauded by critics for its beautiful visuals, a stunning single-take action scene, and the performances by Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson. But season 2 took shots from the start - for "sketchily written" characters, clunky dialogue, "no sense of place," and "disorganized" plotting. Still, HBO is on board for season 3, if creator Nic Pizzolatto is game to write another season. Let the #TrueDetectiveSeason3 hashtag game commence! Want more stuff like this? Like us on Facebook. Is That 'Frozen' and 'Tarzan' Theory True? 'Frozen' Director Speaks Out Posted: Last year, "Frozen" director Chris Buck blew all our minds when he revealed in a Reddit AMA that there's a link between that movie and 1999's "Tarzan" (which he also directed). Basically, the theory boils down to this: The King and Queen of Arendelle (Elsa and Anna's parents) didn't die at sea. Instead, they had a baby boy on board, then got shipwrecked on the shores of a jungle. They built a treehouse, but end up getting eaten by a leopard. But is this for real or something Buck just made up in his head? A bit of both. As he recently told MTV, "When you're working on a feature, you have a lot of time to think about stuff because it takes four years to make one. I think Jen [Lee, his co-director] and I were walking to a meeting, and I just start to tell her the entire story." With the shipwreck scenario, he added, "In my little head, Anna and Elsa's brother is Tarzan - but on the other side of that island are surfing penguins, to tie in a non-Disney movie, 'Surf's Up.' That's my fun little world." OK, so maybe it's not official - and nowhere close to being as involved as the Pixar theory - but it's a fun bit of backstory to think about. "Whatever people want to believe, go for it," Buck said. "If you want to tie them all together, then do it." Want more stuff like this? Like us on Facebook. Former Intern Sues Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen's Company Posted: NEW YORK (AP) - A former intern has sued Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen's licensing and manufacturing company, saying she worked 50 hours a week but wasn't paid. Shahista Lalani filed a class-action lawsuit against Dualstar Entertainment Group in Manhattan's state Supreme Court. Lalani says she worked from May to September 2012. The Daily News reports the lawsuit claims interns were misclassified as exempt from minimum wage requirements. Lalani says her responsibilities included inputting data into spreadsheets, doing errands for paid employees, cutting patterns, photocopying and sewing. A spokeswoman tells the Post the company wasn't aware of the lawsuit and declined to comment further. The 29-year-old twins founded the company when they were 6. Among other things, it makes videos, books, cosmetics and clothes. Lalani's attorney didn't respond to requests for comment from the News. Leonardo DiCaprio, Martin Scorsese Reuniting For Serial Killer Movie Posted: Sixth time's the charm for Leonardo DiCaprio and Martin Scorsese. The actor and director have teamed up to make five acclaimed movies, and they're reuniting once again for "Devil in the White City." Deadline reports that Paramount has optioned the rights to Erik Larson's nonfiction book about a serial killer in Chicago in the late 19th century. DiCaprio will play HH Holmes, who murdered between 27 and 200 people, mostly single young women. The movie is set against the backdrop of the 1893 World's Fair, and also tells the story of fair architect Daniel H. Burnham. Holmes, who works with Burnham, builds the World's Fair Hotel and uses it as a means of luring in his victims. It was a nightmarish place that had a gas chamber, crematorium, and dissecting table. Together, DiCaprio and Scorsese have previously made "Gangs of New York," "The Aviator," "The Departed," "Shutter Island," and "The Wolf of Wall Street." It's been a great collaboration for the actor, who has received two of his five Academy Award nominations in Scorsese films. Want more stuff like this? Like us on Facebook. 10 Most Underrated Disney Movies Ever, Ranked Posted: Is there a bigger name in animation than Disney? Between 1937 and 2014, Walt Disney Animation Studios has released no less than 54 theatrical films, many of which are regarded as true classics of the medium. And naturally, some of them are less beloved. For every "Sleeping Beauty" or "The Little Mermaid," there's also a "Home on the Range" or "Atlantis: The Lost Empire." That said, some of Disney's animated efforts tend to get a bad rap. Maybe not every one their 54 films is solid gold, but there are some that deserve more acclaim and financial success than they received. Here are our top ten underrated Disney movies.
