'Big Brother 17' Spoilers: Will Vanessa Be Evicted in Week 9?

Posted:

*Warning: BB17 spoilers ahead from the live feeds.*

No matter who is evicted from "Big Brother 17" this Thursday, August 27, he or she will have a chance to return to the house within the hour. The four jury members will compete on the next live show, and one of them will stay to compete in the next Head of Household competition and try to survive Week 10. Will professional poker player Vanessa Rousso be the houseguest who has that eviction/possible redemption story? Eh, maybe. But probably not. Johnny Mac may end up following his girl Becky out the door instead. #Jecky4Eva

How did it come to this?

Vanessa's onetime close ally, Austin Matelson, won the HoH competition that had just started on the August 20 live show. Last week, under his showmance Liz Nolan's HoH, there was a lot of discussion about possibly backdooring Vanessa. They decided to table the move until this week, and the original plan was for the Austwins alliance (Austin/Liz/Julia) to throw this HoH so they didn't have to be the ones to put anyone up. They had made deals with everyone in the house, so being HoH would show their cards.

But Austin finally won a solo HOH right he should've thrown it, and as of Friday afternoon he was deciding whether to nominate Vanessa outright or try to backdoor her. He settled on nominating Steve Moses and John McGuire. Both Julia and Liz now want to evict John instead of Vanessa, since 1) they don't really trust John, 2) Steve would be forced to work with them without John, 3) Vanessa has not gone against the twins (and she never sold Julia out, unlike Austin) and 4) whoever returns to the house will be gunning for Vanessa. Vanessa is a good shield. Without her in the house, Austwins becomes an obvious target. (They're already an obvious target, with back-to-back HoHs, but anyway.)

When Austin told Steve he wanted to put up Steve vs. John, with Steve as the pawn and Vanessa (maybe) as the replacement nominee, Steve was not happy. Can't blame him. What is the point of making an alliance with people who put you up instead of the two other free people in the house -- Meg Maley and James Huling? It just shows that Austin wants to keep James and Meg as his true final five allies and sees Steve and John as expendable.

At this point, it looks like John will be evicted next if he does not win the Power of Veto. Vanessa may not even be the backup target. It could be James or even Steve. It's sad. The POV competition will be held late on Saturday, with the POV ceremony on Monday. Once those tea leaves have been read, we'll know who's leaving next (even if they just return a few minutes later).

Megan Fox Files For Divorce From Brian Austin Green After 11 Years Together

Posted:

Germany Ninja Trutles Premiere
UPDATE: So much for those reconciliation hopes. According to People, Megan Fox filed for divorce from Brian Austin Green. This divorce update comes two days after it was revealed that the couple had decided to separate. In the divorce docs, Megan cited the classic "irreconcilable differences" and asked for joint physical and legal custody of their sons. Unnamed sources always come out of the woodwork at times like this, and one reportedly close to Megan told People, "Megan and Brian's split is a classic Hollywood story of two people in different stages of life and career. Megan is young and hot and sought after for work, and she is eager to move ahead in her career. Brian wants more of her time than she can allow." The couple reportedly had "many disagreements and arguments about her time at home."

Original story (8/19):

Two more Hollywood stars are said to be consciously uncoupling. Sigh. "Transformers" and "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" actress Megan Fox, 29, and "Beverly Hills, 90210" alum Brian Austin Green, 42, have split up, Us Weekly reports. An insider told them, "Megan has separated from Brian. They decided on it six months ago."

Believe it or not, they've been together for 11 years, even if they were only married for five of them. That's still pretty impressive for a Hollywood couple. Brian was a guest star on Megan's sitcom "Hope & Faith" when she was just 18. "I liked him right away," Megan told New York Times Magazine in 2010, describing how she met Brian on set. "Everyone was around the monitor watching a scene, and Brian accidentally touched my leg. I remember literal electricity shooting through me and out me from every direction. It was like magic."

They initially got engaged two years after they first met, when she was 20, but called it off, only to get re-engaged later. They finally got hitched in June 2010 during a holiday in Hawaii. Megan and Brian have two children together -- sons Noah, 2, and Bodhi, 18 months -- and Brian has a 13-year-old son from a previous relationship.

Us Weekly said their reps couldn't be reached for comment on the reported separation. Best of luck to the stars as they co-parent their sons and do whatever they do next in their individual lives. And who knows, maybe they'll reconcile before one of them files for divorce.

'Game of Thrones' Actress Asks Peers to Refuse Generic Hot Girlfriend Roles

Posted:

2015 Comic-Con - Maisie Williams wants more actresses to just say no to two-dimensional "hot" roles and demand better. The 18-year-old star -- best known as badass Arya Stark on "Game of Thrones" but also appearing in the new season of "Doctor Who" -- talked to the Evening Standard about how women can break out of the "hot girlfriend" box.

There are a lot of roles that come in that are 'the girlfriend' or 'the hot piece' in a movie or TV series. That's something I've seen first-hand and read all the time. It will say 'Derek: intelligent, good with kids, funny, really good at this' and then it will say 'Sandra: hot in a sort of cute way' - and that's all you get. That's the way your character is described, so going into an audition you are channelling 'hot', which isn't like a person, that's not who a person is. That's what I see and that's what needs to change. I've been lucky enough to play a very great female character from a young age, who is a fantastic role model for girls. [...] I just hope that if we stop playing those characters, they'll stop being written."

At that point in the interview, Maisie paused and laughed, saying, "It's a very big thing to say for me, on behalf of all the women in this industry."

It's true, though! So many casting notices come through with the female character described for her looks with the male character including actual personality traits. Bless Maisie for pointing this out and calling for women to stop taking the roles, since it's going to take people actually in the industry, especially young actresses in the industry, to force a change. It's not enough to just sigh and shake your head at "the way it is," you have to refuse to accept it and hope that other women do the same.

Watch Two Insanely Creepy New 'AHS: Hotel' Teasers

Posted:

Tip: Don't call for room service in "American Horror Story: Hotel," 'cause this guy might come to the door. Yikes.

Nobody teases us like the AHS team, and they just did it again with two very brief, very creepy videos that piqued our interest without telling us much of anything about what's to come. We'll get the keys to this "Hotel" when it premieres on October 7, but here are the new teasers, first shared by Entertainment Weekly:

Was that an under-the-mattress clown strangling we just witnessed? No judgment, just checking.

If you want more intel on the characters and plot of "AHS: Hotel," read all the updates from the TCAs. Here's just one tease, from Ryan Murphy, on Lady Gaga's character: "[Her] is named Elizabeth, and she is a very wealthy social doyenne who is consumed with art and fashion and people. She has a nefarious plan that is revealed in the first episode and will play out during the course of the season." A nefarious plan! Bwahahaha. Excellent. Murphy also said "Hotel" "harkens back to the first season. It's much more rooted in honest, primal fears as the first season was."

Does it all sound (and look) good to you so far?

Did 'Dexter' Have the Most Disappointing Finale of All Time? This Graph Says Yes

Posted:

This image released by Showtime shows Michael C. Hall as Dexter Morgan in a scene from the series finale of If a show you never really liked has a lame finale, well, what did you expect? But if a show is popular and well-respected, and it pulls a "Dexter" in the final episode, then you end up with a massive popularity free-fall, as documented by a Reddit user in a new series of graphs.

Someone called ChallengeResponse recently posted charts ranking TV finales by different metrics, based on IMDb ratings. You can check them out here. The first one shows the ratings of series finales relative to their average episode ranking. Showtime's "Dexter" ended up way at the bottom, because most of the episodes had been rated high, so the average was high going into the finale; fans expected a lot from the final episode, but they hated it so much that its rating dropped more than any other final TV episode. On the flip side, "Glee" is at the top, not because it was considered to have the best finale of all time, but it was a higher rated finale than the average of the show's other episodes. Fans didn't think "Glee" was always a good show, but they thought it ended strong.

The highest finale episode ratings went to "Breaking Bad" and "Dexter" star Michael C. Hall's other show, "Six Feet Under." On that list, just ranking fans' final episode ratings, "Dexter" had the second worst rating, just above "Two and a Half Men." But that sitcom didn't have average episode ratings as high as "Dexter," so its finale was less "disappointing" than "Dexter" or shows like "True Blood" and "How I Met Your Mother," which also had much lower finale ratings than their average IMDb ratings.

All the graphs are over here, if you want to sort through the data.

Do you think "Dexter" deserved the biggest popularity drop for its finale, or would you give that dubious honor to HIMYM, "The Sopranos," "Seinfeld" or another show?

Timm Sharp and Dolly Wells On What Sets 'Blunt Talk' Apart

Posted:

2015 Summer TCA Tour - Day 4Patrick Stewart's dissipated, fraying-at-the-seams news anchor may be the centerpiece of Starz's new comedy "Blunt Talk," but he's also been surrounded by an ensemble of characters who despite their media elite jobs are finding life equally full potential pitfalls.

Timm Sharp and Dolly Wells are part of the deep bench assembled by creator Jonathan Ames and producer Seth MacFarlane, playing the show-within-a-show's writer Jim and producer Celia, respectively, and the two comic actors (both are HBO alums, he of the recent "Enlightened," she of the current "Doll & Em") sat down with Moviefone to offer a tease at the behind-the-scenes dysfunction ahead, even as they admitted their own not-so-successful ability to recognize the real-life news references their characters spout.

Moviefone: There's so much talent involved in this project that I can see why signing on would be an easy yes. But creatively, what was the thing that made you say "I'm going to have fun with this character?"

Timm Sharp: Jonathan let me know very early on that my character was going to have a slew of really complex issues. And I thought that would be so fun to play somebody who had all these issues. You've seen the first four episodes, right? So you only know of two so far. There's more.

Dolly Wells: It's like a treasure hunt. "Hey, I found some of Timm's problems!"

Sharp: A scavenger hunt.

Wells: I was quite jealous of all his issues. I want some more issues. No. I've got issues. Remember that bit where they were asking me to say "iss ues" [leaving out "h" sound in an overly British pronunciation]. But I was trying, but I had issues with saying "iss ues."

Sharp: There was one where the director was like -- it was an American director -- and he was like, "This doesn't sound right. Can you try doing it, just saying 'iss-ues?" And you're like, "Um..."

Wells: And also, not that I'm 15, but you have to be well over 60. It's a generational thing. My mother, you say, "sex-ual" and "iss-ues," but I don't. I couldn't say it.

Sharp: She was saying it through the door.

Wells: I was saying, "We all have iss-ues."

Sharp: And then I said, "Why are you saying issues like that?" Maybe that will be on the DVD. Oh, yeah, it is on the blooper reel.

Wells: Anyway, my answer to that would be, because I haven't lived in America for very long and this is my first American show, I feel like she's actually a very evolved woman in that you can show all her problems and confusions about everything. But you can also have her sleep with a bunch of people or try to find boyfriends on Tinder, but without there being any judgment, like "Oh my God, that's quite weird." But as I say that, I'm seeming quite old because I'm thinking, she does loads of shows probably in England, but America, women are like that. But that's why I found her attractive. She was very intelligent, very successful. I mean, she's a senior producer there, on this great show. That's a very good job to have. She's only one underneath Rosalie [Jacki Weaver]. So she's doing a really important job, and she's necessary. And she's only been doing it for six months. She's moved from England for a year. She used to work at the BBC.

Sharp: I think you play it very well. You play that without the heaviness on the acting. That's just something about you, and you move on.

Anybody would jump at the chance to work with Patrick Stewart. This is Patrick Stewart comedically unleashed in a way we've never seen him before and he's doing brilliantly, so tell me about seeing that happen in front of your face and not just either stop and watch him go -- or kind of lose your mind inside?

Sharp: That was all part of it. The first two weeks, I saw more breasts than I think I've ever seen in my life.

Wells: But also, you feel so lucky. I remember the first day or one of the first days when it was in the porn studio, and Patrick's in that yellow windbreaker or whatever you call it here. Wind-slicker or something you call it here. And I thought, "My God, even if I didn't have a single speaking line, the fact that I'm standing this close to such a fantastic actor, that not only have I heard he's a fantastic actor, but now I'm really seeing up close what a phenomenal actor he is."

Sharp: He's incredible.

Wells: He's really brilliant. And I mean, each take, there's something different. And he's so inclusive and you're such a part of it all. And he's got a little -- not little -- huge, twinkly eyes. All the sort of fun and chaos that's happening, I think he was enjoying as much. He was saying, "I haven't in my whole career done as many ridiculous things as I've done in the last three months." And he'd giggle. But you felt like you were all part of it together. It was exciting watching everybody. It was exciting for me watching Timm, watching Mary, watching Kara, watching Adrian. Because you see everyone's work a little bit. But it's like, wow. Honestly, you feel proud of yourself, like I'm allowed to be a part of it. You feel like you're gate crashing a party.

Sharp: Yeah, we're part of something that's never... I think there's nothing like this show on TV. It's weird in all the great ways, and yeah, I'm honored to be a part of it. And it's fun watching all the Jonathan's neuroses come out through us.

Wells: I know. It's an honor to show them.

The world of news network is so rich for stories. Were you a news junkie before or just watched it casually as most of us do?

Wells: I feel very ashamed to say this, but I'm getting better. But I find it's almost like someone starting to learn Danish later in life or something. I just have always found the news so frightening that I'm not up to date. It made my friends laugh. I mean, of course, I know what's going on sort of, but I'm not someone that's very -- I read the newspapers, and I feel really sad.

Sharp: What's funny about that is I'm the exact same way. I loosely follow what's going on in the world, and we are both playing the senior producer and head writers of this show [laughs]. And we don't know what the hell is going on.

Wells: Like when we were doing that walking along. Do you remember?

Sharp: Oh, yeah.

Wells: And it felt like I was just going "Uh, uh, uh...I didn't know the countries I was speaking about. I mean, it's all sort of laughing and going, "I know nothing about the world." I don't mean that.

Sharp: Yeah, "Timm Sharp and Dolly Wells are idiots."

Wells: "Proud to know nothing about current affairs."

Tell me about the intersection of the two talents, Seth MacFarlane and Jonathan Ames, that make this show uniquely pop?

Sharp: I think Seth MacFarlane is smart, very smart force. And he basically just introduced Patrick and Jonathan and let those two do their thing. Creatively, Seth wasn't as involved as Jonathan and the writing staff.

Wells: But it's almost like his work was done before that. First of all, he's an incredible comedic talent. I mean, I can't believe, like I can't believe he's sticking around. He's really hilarious. But I think and also, there's a humility. I think that's just as creative and exciting. And she's thinking, OK. Patrick Stewart, hilarious, brilliant. I've watched him on "Extras." Wasn't Patrick's voice on "Family Guy?"

Sharp: There's an interview -- I can't remember who he was quoting -- but Seth was like "Somebody great said to me, 'The key to success is to just put all your favorite people together and let them do their thing. And you can reap the rewards,' or whatever. Seth's amazing. And he loved the show.

Wells: He knew to put those together -- to me, that's a creative decision. Or it's even like people that non stop give the best parties or whatever: "Who knows: if I have that person and that person, something exciting is going to happen." It's like a creative party.

Sharp: Seth is an incredible party host for us.

Tom Felton Apologizes For His 'Harry Potter' Fans: 'I'm Sorry Girls Like Malfoy'

Posted:

Curse you and your hotness, Tom Felton! "Harry Potter" bad boy Draco Malfoy still has plenty of fans out there, but that's a problem for both his creator, author J.K. Rowling, and the guy who played Draco in the movies, Tom Felton, and they both went on Twitter again today to try and remind people that Malfoy is kind of a jerk.

Every so often, Rowling disses her own creation, as she did back on Draco's 35th birthday in June, telling girls they are "misguided to fancy him." As she has put it in the past, "I'm trying to clearly distinguish between Tom Felton, who is a good looking young boy, and Draco, who, whatever he looks like, is not a nice man."

That subject came up again on August 21, when a fan sent actor Tom Felton a photo of a T-shirt reading "Draco Malfoy Is My Boyfriend." Tom responded with some deflection, and an apology to J.K. Rowling on his own character's popularity:
Ron isn't even a good back-up choice, considering some of his own actions. Go for Neville! Go for Neville every single time! Neville is the IDEAL boyfriend! Sorry. Anyway, Rowling also responded to Tom's tweet and it sounds like she really wishes he weren't so darn attractive:
Don't hate him because he's beautiful! Maybe the situation calls for a new Draco Malfoy standalone story -- complete with redemption arc -- which can then be adapted for the screen and played by Tom Felton. That way, maybe the girls who only liked him as a hot "bad boy" will wake from the love potion.

Watch Chris Pratt Ride With Raptors in LEGO 'Jurassic World'

Posted:

"Jurassic World" became one of the biggest box office hits ever with the help of Chris Pratt, raptors, and dinos-fighting-dinos goodness.

The only thing that would have made it an even bigger hit? LEGOs.

The new video from Brotherhood Workshop thankfully adds the building blocks to mix, re-telling the film in 90 seconds. You haven't lived until you've seen Chris Pratt, who voiced the lead character in "The LEGO Movie," in LEGO man form. (Thanks, meta internet!)

The short recreates key moments from the film -- like the shot of Pratt's Raptor Whisperer riding his motorcycle alongside his raptor pals) -- while also delivering a snarky take on some of the film's plot-driving exposition scenes.

If there's a better minute-and-a-half of the day to spend, we don't wanna know about it.

Jennifer Aniston Shows Off Her Stunning Wedding Ring

Posted:

Premiere Of Lionsgate Premiere's Her engagement ring was sizable, and Jennifer Aniston's new wedding band in nothing short of gorgeous (and enormous), either.

The actress debuted her new hardware on Wednesday in her first public appearance since her secret wedding to actor Justin Theroux earlier this month, attending the red carpet premiere of her new flick, "She's Funny That Way." And while Aniston didn't flash the bauble about, it was hard to miss -- the sizable gold band also features a ring of diamonds encrusted around the middle.

While Theroux wasn't with Aniston on Wednesday (Us Weekly reports that the event was a "girls night" celebration for Aniston and pals), the actress did open up about the pair's hush-hush nuptials, which were attended by a host of famous faces. So how did Aniston and Theroux keep the ceremony a secret, at an event where Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Chelsea Handler, John Krasinski, and Emily Blunt -- among many others -- were guests?

"Where there's a great will, there's a way," the actress told Access Hollywood. "It can be done."

Check out a closer look at Aniston's wedding band below. Don't let all that bling blind you.

Here's Your First Look at Disney's 'Moana' from the D23 Expo

Posted:

moana, dwayne johnsonDisney has finally released official images from its D23 presentation of upcoming animated musical "Moana," and based on what we've seen so far, the film is beautiful, colorful, fun, and emotional -- basically, everything a great Disney flick is meant to be.

The presentation, which took place last week, featured a bunch of people involved in the behind-the-scenes action on the movie, including directors Ron Clements and John Musker ("The Little Mermaid," "Aladdin") and producer Osnat Shurer (a Pixar consultant making her Disney feature producing debut), along with the team behind the film's music: Lin-Manuel Miranda (Tony winner for "In the Heights"), composer Mark Mancina ("The Lion King"), and Opetaia Foa'i (lead singer of world music band Te Vaka).

Te Vaka performed a musical number from the film, complete with Polynesian dancers. Dwayne Johnson, who voices the demigod Maui in "Moana," also made an appearance, discussing his passion for the project and its focus on the South Pacific culture.

But the real star of the presentation was "Moana" itself, and the visuals and clips that premiered during the expo. The crowd got its first look at the film's new logo, beautiful Polynesian scenery, and introductions to a cast of characters that includes Moana's sidekicks Pua, the adorable pig, and Hei Hei, a cocky rooster. According to the Disney Insider blog, the presentation was nothing short of dazzling:

Moana is a young woman who sets off to discover her destiny on the open ocean. She encounters a demigod named Maui (voiced by Dwayne Johnson, otherwise known as The Rock) and battles ancient creatures, including an incredible character made out of molten lava. ... It's a story that's totally new and yet utterly timeless, and the presentation, which included a pair of animated sequences (including one where Maui recounts his epic past and another where a young Moana wades into the ocean, who plays back with her), left us speechless (and a little weepy).

Check out some photos from the presentation below. (More images can be seen here.)

The 32 Best and Worst Made-for-TV Celebrity Biopics

Posted:

"The Unauthorized Full House Story," debuting August 22 on Lifetime, should be a lot of fun to watch -- or, if it's bad, to hate-watch. Despite the grumbling among fans who watched last year's "The Unauthorized Saved by the Bell Story" (whose scriptwriter, Ron McGee, also wrote Saturday's "Full House" movie), Lifetime is banking on these "Unauthorized" backstage tell-alls to drive ratings among nostalgia-minded viewers. (Coming in October: "Unauthorized" movies about the original "90210" and "Melrose Place.")

It doesn't matter that a lot of these showbiz TV biopics aren't very good, or feature unknown actors who bear little resemblance to the celebrities they're playing, or offer few genuine revelations from behind the scenes. By now, the format is a time-honored ritual, hitting specific beats along a familiar plot arc (usually a cautionary tale of rise, fall, and maybe redemption). Quality is almost beside the point. That said, some TV celebrity biopics are actually made with some artfulness and insight. Here, then, are some of the best and worst.

Shannen Doherty Has Breast Cancer

Posted:

18th Annual Webby Awards - ArrivalsFormer "Beverly Hills, 90210" star Shannen Doherty has breast cancer, the actress has confirmed.

In a statement to People, Doherty, 44, revealed her diagnosis, discussing the disease for the first time publicly.

"Yes, I have breast cancer, and I am currently undergoing treatment," Doherty's statement said. "I am continuing to eat right, exercise and stay very positive about my life. I am thankful to my family, friends and doctors for their support and, of course, my fans who have stood by me."

Doherty's diagnosis was first reported by TMZ, which earlier this week posted a details of lawsuit filed by the actress claiming that her former business manager -- the firm Tanner, Mainstain, Glynn & Johnson -- mishandled her finances, including failing to pay her health insurance premiums and causing her insurance to lapse. During the time when she was not receiving medical care, the suit claims, Doherty developed breast cancer, which went untreated and undiagnosed until March of this year, when doctors "discovered that she had invasive breast cancer metastatic to at least one lymph node."

According to the lawsuit, Doherty "was informed that her cancer had spread during 2014 (when she was uninsured) ... [and] was also informed that, had she been insured and able to visit her doctor, the cancer could potentially have been stopped, thus obviating the need for future treatment (including mastectomy and chemotherapy) that [Doherty] will likely have to suffer through now."

A representative for Tanner Mainstain released its own statement to People in response to Doherty's claims. It said:

Tanner Mainstain is saddened to learn that Ms. Doherty is suffering from cancer and wishes her a full recovery. However, the claim that Tanner Mainstain caused her to be uninsured, prevented her from seeking medical care, or somehow contributed to her cancer is patently false. Tanner Mainstain will aggressively defend all of Ms. Doherty's claims in court.

Here's wishing Doherty well in her treatment and recovery.

See Hugh Jackman and Jim Carrey's Hilarious Impersonations of Each Other's Characters

Posted:

jim carrey, wolverine, jim carrey impersonates hugh jackmanSometimes, celebrities can share too much on social media. Sometimes, they share just the right amount. Hugh Jackman and Jim Carrey fell into the latter camp this week with a random, yet completely hilarious, attempt at impersonating two of each other's most beloved characters.

The shenanigans started a few days ago when Jackman uploaded a Dubsmash video of himself uttering Carrey's famous "Smokin'!" line from "The Mask," nailing the comedian's rubbery facial expression with wide eyes, raised eyebrows, and a devilish grin. Jackman's post got plenty of love from fans, but it was Carrey's response the following day that made things truly amazing.

#JimCarrey mate trying my best to do justice! Clearly, I should stay in my own lane.

A video posted by Hugh Jackman (@thehughjackman) on

Though he didn't share a video, Carrey may have one-upped Jackman in the details department, opting to take on Jackman's Wolverine role from the "X-Men" series in a silly, surprisingly accurate photo. What the comedian lacked in sound, he more than made up for in visuals, styling his coif in the perfect Wolverine 'do and brandishing some silverware and a corkscrew to mimic the character's claws. Carrey finished off the look with a menacing growl. We're not quite sure why this happened, but we love it. Thanks for being weird, internet; never change.

ABC Orders Pilot for Mockingbird Show 'Marvel's Most Wanted': Report

Posted:

adrianne palicki, agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., agents of SHIELD, mockingbirdAfter scuttling a proposed spinoff of "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." earlier this year, ABC has reportedly ordered a pilot for another Marvel series, centered around Mockingbird.

Variety reports that "Marvel's Most Wanted" would focus on "S.H.I.E.L.D." star Adrianne Palicki's character, Bobbi Morse -- a.k.a. Mockingbird -- and actor Nick Blood's character, Lance Hunter. Per the trade:

Insiders say the series is not a spinoff, per se, but rather an entirely new project solely focused on the two characters to continue their story. Though plot details are scarce at this point, "Marvel's Most Wanted" will follow the pair and their adventures together.

That's a different tune than ABC president Paul Lee was singing at upfronts earlier this year, when he said of Palicki and Blood's alter egos, "We absolutely love those characters on 'S.H.I.E.L.D.,'" and alluded to the fact that showrunners didn't want to mess with a good thing. But Lee did leave some wiggle room for a possible Mockingbird spinoff as well, telling the upfronts crowd, "It certainly is a possibility of spinning them off."

We'll have to wait for word from ABC before Variety's report can be confirmed, but it would make sense for the network to continue down the Marvel path. With "S.H.I.E.L.D." and "Agent Carter" already modest hits, as well as the success of shows on The CW and Netflix, it seems the thirst for superhero series is only growing, and "Most Wanted" could fit nicely in that niche.

Stay tuned.

Kristen Stewart Facts: 12 Things You (Probably) Didn't Know About the 'American Ultra' Star

Kristen Stewart rose to fame with the popular (but not always loved) "Twilight" series. Since leaving behind human-turned-vampire Bella Swan, Stewart has found her way back to more indie films, and some critical acclaim. Even though she's spent a lot of time in the spotlight, she's a pretty private person, so it's time find out some things you never knew about the star (like the fact that she does, indeed, smile).

Jennifer Lawrence Is the World's Highest-Paid Actress

Posted:

Comic-Con International 2015 - Lionsgate Press RoomForbes rolled out its annual list of the highest-paid actresses in the world this week, and sitting at the top of the ranking this year was none other than Katniss Everdeen.

"Hunger Games" star Jennifer Lawrence easily outranked the rest of the list, banking a whopping $52 million over the past 12 months. That total comes thanks to her role in that popular YA franchise, as well as her continuing involvement in the "X-Men" series, though Forbes notes that Lawrence also has a lucrative contract with fashion brand Dior that pads her already-impressive income.

It doesn't take an eagle-eyed observer to notice, though, that Lawrence's total -- and the rest of the women on Forbes's Top 18 list -- don't come close to matching the money-making of their male counterparts. Lawrence, for example, still lags well behind top-earning actor Robert Downey Jr., who banked $80 million in 2015, and all the top-earning women on Forbes's actresses list earned a combined $660 million less than the men on Forbes's Highest-Paid Actors ranking.

That disparity comes thanks to Hollywood's continuing issue of a lack of roles for females, though the problem is also rampant in other movie-making industries around the globe. Forbes included international movie stars on its lists for the first time this year, and while several Bollywood stars broke into the top rankings on the actors' side, only one international star -- Bingbing Fan, from China, who came in at number four -- cracked the entire female list. (Forbes also cuts off its rankings at the $6 million mark, meaning that its list of highest-paid actors is larger than the list of highest-paid actresses by default.)

It's certainly a depressing difference, but the women who did manage to score some big paydays should certainly be celebrated. Keep it up, ladies -- and let's hope there's more where that came from in the future.

Here's Forbes's full list:

1. Jennifer Lawrence, $52 million
2. Scarlett Johansson, $35.5 million
3. Melissa McCarthy, $23 million
4. Bingbing Fan, $21 million
5. Jennifer Aniston, $16.5 million
6. Julia Roberts, $16 million
7. Angelina Jolie, $15 million
8. Reese Witherspoon, $15 million
9. (TIE) Anne Hathaway and Kristen Stewart, $12 million
11. Cameron Diaz, $11 million
12. Gwyneth Paltrow, $9 million
13. (TIE) Meryl Streep, Amanda Seyfried, and Sandra Bullock, $8 million
16. (TIE) Emma Stone and Mila Kunis, $6.5 million
18. Natalie Portman, $6 million

Michael J. Fox's 11 Most Questionable Movie Choices, Ranked From Best to Worst

Posted:

Outside of "Back to the Future" and "Teen Wolf," Michael J. Fox has found limited success on the big screen. Especially during the 1990s.

The once and future Marty McFly probably wishes he had a time machine to un-happen "Life With Mikey" or "Greedy," two of the most questionable films on a resume full of them. The '90s were not kind to Fox, which is kinda fitting since his films weren't too kind to audiences.

But we love the guy, and it's with love (ish) that, in honor of "Teen Wolf" turning 30 this week, we rank Fox's most questionable films from the '80s and '90s -- ranked from best to worst.

'Teen Wolf' Cast: Where Are They Now?

Posted:

"Teen Wolf" was supposed to be a disposable quickie, a cash grab from the distributors of "Valley Girl," eager to catch lightning again with another low-budget teen comedy. (It was shot over just 21 days, for only $1.4 million.)

But it also had the good fortune of starring Michael J. Fox in his first film lead; 'Wolf" was shot before "Back to the Future," but released two months later. When it hit theaters 30 years ago this week, on August 23, 1985, "Teen Wolf" went on to gross $80 million worldwide and spawn a cartoon series, a feature sequel, and an MTV drama series currently going into its sixth season.

The fan-favorite launched the film careers of several actors, though none did as well as Fox. Some eventually left acting behind, though others eventually became beloved stars on TV. Here's what became of key cast members in the years after Scott surfed atop Stiles' van.

Best of Late Night TV: Michelle Obama's 'Effin Vee' and Lily Tomlin's Weed

Posted:

If you're like us and value your sleep, you probably nodded off into your Ambien dreamland before the party started on post-prime time TV. Don't worry; we've got you covered. Here's the best of what happened last night on late night.

First Lady Michelle Obama is all about healthy foods, and she visited "Jimmy Kimmel Live" for a section called Eat Your Effin Vees. Their dynamic is completely hilarious, and frankly Michelle Obama is the absolute best. If only she'd mom danced, but alas, wrong late night show.

Lily Tomlin also visited Jimmy, and sold a bunch of weed to his band. Don't worry, it was medicinal.
Over on "The Tonight Show," Rachel Maddow stopped by to teach Jimmy Fallon how to make The Millionaire -- in honor of Donald Trump's run for president. Best quote: "I have to tell you, it is a terrible drink. It isn't tasty."

John Cena has a message for his SummerSlam opponent Seth Rollins, and it's amazing: "I'm gonna turn that place into a soup kitchen and give out knuckle sandwiches two for the price of none." Oh. Well then.
