'Big Brother 17' Spoilers: Johnny Mac or Steve, Who Will Be Evicted? Posted: *Warning: BB17 spoilers ahead from the live feeds.* UPDATE 3: Here's a quick update for anyone who watched the Wednesday, August 26 episode, saw that Vanessa won POV and is no longer even a remote option for eviction, and wants to know which final Week 9 nominee -- Steve or Johnny Mac -- is going home on Thursday, August 27. Well ... we don't know for sure yet. But as of Wednesday night, Austwins and Vanessa were ready to evict John. They sounded pretty certain, but they may change their minds for the umpteenth time by the time you finish reading this. For once, the vote is so split that these fools were seriously -- *seriously* -- considering a game of rock, paper, scissors to decide who to vote out. They may just go old school BB and vote in secret without telling each other. Or they may come to some kind of group agreement before Thursday's live eviction, which will be closely followed by the four jurors (Shelli, Jackie, Becky and Steve/John) competing to return into the house. So Steve or John could walk back in within minutes. Vanessa, Liz, Julia, Meg, and James are the only ones who can vote on the live show, and since that's an uneven number there will be no tie. This could be interesting. As of now, Johnny Mac is back in the bullseye, but start a prayer circle for whichever one is your favorite! UPDATE 2: Oh My Lanta did things blow up on Monday before the POV Ceremony. At that ceremony, Vanessa did not use the POV and just kept the nominations Steve vs. John. Before doing so, there was serious house drama, centered around (who else) Vanessa. John was the one who bit the bullet and told Vanessa about last week's five-person deal to backdoor her. She flipped out, per usual, and since Steve was named the backdoor mastermind (really?!) she now wants Steve out. Vanessa is potentially the swing vote, so she may be able to push that. Plus, she tends to get her way. However, on the other side, Liz and Julia want to evict John for ratting out the deal. As of Monday, Austin was arguing to keep Steve and evict John, but Vanessa may change his mind. It is not clear at this point what Meg and James want to do. Vanessa made it very obvious that she feels betrayed by Steve and wants him gone, so Meg and James should see that Steve is a shield for them as long as he and Vanessa are both in the house. Team Steve over Team Johnny, but since many fans think John is cute they'll be thrilled if he stays. This one may come down to the wire with the target going back and forth until Thursday's live eviction. By the time they all vote, Vanessa and the twins will be on the same page about who goes home. As mad as they are at different people, they don't want to lose each other as allies. Vanessa is running her alliance, but this has to have her scared at least a little bit -- since Austwins was involved in the five-person deal to backdoor her -- so maybe she'll go along with what they want to show she's a team player. UPDATE 1: Dagnabbit. Vanessa went and won POV. She's good. She's paranoid and hypocritical, but she's good. The feeds were down for five hours on Saturday night and when they returned, The Mad Hatter had the power. Right after she won Veto, Vanessa said she would keep the nominations the same, so John or Steve may be evicted -- unless she decides to take one down and backdoor James or Meg. That's still possible, and the answer will come during Monday's POV Ceremony. Vanessa's alliance was initially leaning toward evicting John, but they're also worried about Steve. They believe Steve and John have been working together this whole time and Vanessa thinks Steve is two-faced. However, they also worry that James and Meg will work with whoever returns into the house from the jury. If Steve is smart, he'll spill the whole backdoor Vanessa plan to Vanessa to at least try to get her to use the POV on him, or maybe get her vote if he stays up, so they can turn on Austwins (with the help of whoever returns) next week. Vanessa is known for changing her mind every few minutes, so don't put too much stock in any declarative statement from her until nominations are final. Actions speak louder than words. No matter who is evicted from "Big Brother 17" Week 9 this Thursday, August 27, he or she will have a chance to return to the house within the hour. The four jury members will compete on the next live show, and one of them will stay to compete in the next Head of Household competition and try to survive Week 10. Will professional poker player Vanessa Rousso be the houseguest who has that eviction/possible redemption story? Nope! Sorry. She must have a sixth sense (haha) for when she should cover her own butt, and she won protection this week, whether she really needed it or not. Johnny Mac may end up following his girl Becky out the door this week instead. (#Jecky4Eva) But if Vanessa's former Freaks and Geeks ally Steve Moses is ultimately seen as the bigger threat, then he'll be the one crossing his fingers for the buyback. How did it come to this? Vanessa's onetime close ally, Austin Matelson, won the HoH competition that had just started on the August 20 live show. Last week, under his showmance Liz Nolan's HoH, there was a lot of discussion about possibly backdooring Vanessa. They decided to table the move until this week, and the original plan was for the Austwins alliance (Austin/Liz/Julia) to throw this HoH so they didn't have to be the ones to put anyone up. They had made deals with everyone in the house, so being HoH would show their cards. But Austin finally won a solo HOH right he should've thrown it, and as of Friday afternoon he was deciding whether to nominate Vanessa outright or try to backdoor her. He settled on nominating Steve and John. Both Julia and Liz said they wanted to evict John instead of Vanessa, since 1) they don't really trust John, 2) Steve would be forced to work with them without John, 3) Vanessa has not gone against the twins (and she never sold Julia out, unlike Austin) and 4) whoever returns to the house will be gunning for Vanessa. Vanessa is a good shield. Without her in the house, Austwins becomes an obvious target. (They're already an obvious target, with back-to-back HoHs, but anyway.) When Austin told Steve he wanted to put up Steve vs. John, with Steve as the pawn and Vanessa (maybe) as the replacement nominee, Steve was not happy. Can't blame him. What is the point of making an alliance with people who put you up instead of the two other free people in the house -- Meg Maley and James Huling? It just shows that Austin wants to keep James and Meg as his true final five allies and sees Steve and John as expendable. On Friday, it looked like John would be evicted next if he did not win the Power of Veto. Vanessa was not even a serious backup target at that point, since Austin was leaning more toward James, if someone else had to go up. The POV competition was held late on Saturday, and the POV ceremony will probably be a formality on Monday, with Vanessa keeping the nominations the same. But stay tuned to see which way the house leans in the battle of John vs. Steve. What do you want to happen? Want more stuff like this? Like us on Facebook. It's the Most Wonderful Time of Year in 'Love the Coopers' Trailer Posted: There are only 120 days until Christmas, so hope you're ready to celebrate with the Coopers! Yahoo has the trailer for the star-studded holiday comedy "Love the Coopers," and it bears quite the resemblance to "The Family Stone." It shares the producing team, as well as star Diane Keaton, who joins John Goodman as the parents of adult siblings engaging in wacky antics. That includes Olivia Wilde as a perpetually single Eleanor, who recruits a soldier to pretend to be her boyfriend. There's Marisa Tomei's Emma, who accidentally shop-lifts. And Ed Helms is a single dad whose daughter likes to proclaim everyone is a jerk. So, yeah, lots of zany family happenings and mixed-up relationships, with heavy doses of feel-good holiday cheer. No doubt they'll all learn the true meaning of Christmas. "Love the Coopers" opens in limited release November 13. Want more stuff like this? Like us on Facebook. Kurt Sutter Developing 'Sons of Anarchy' Spinoff Posted: When it comes to ride or die, Kurt Sutter would rather ride. The "Sons of Anarchy" creator is working on a spinoff series for FX, according to Entertainment Weekly. The new drama would focus on the Mayans motorcycle club, the Oakland-based Latino biker club that had a contentious relationship with SAMCRO in "Sons of Anarchy." In the original series, the Mayans controlled most of Northern California and almost all of Nevada, and trafficked heroin and weapons through their territory. Their motto was "Los Asesinos del Dios," or "The Assassins of God." A spinoff makes a lot of sense for FX, since "Sons of Anarchy" was their most popular show before it ended in December 2014. Over 9.2 million viewers watched the series finale. Sutter has previously talked about making a prequel limited series to "Sons of Anarchy," but it's unclear if this project is the same thing. It might be some time before any spinoff gets made, as Sutter himself is busy with his upcoming medieval drama "The Bastard Executioner," where premieres Sept. 15 on FX. Want more stuff like this? Jared Leto's Green Joker Hair From 'Suicide Squad' Is Gone Posted: It's not easy being green. "Suicide Squad" has wrapped filming, and actor Jared Leto is done with the Joker, or at least his hair. Jared shared a chopped hair photo on Instagram -- and if we didn't already know the context, it could pass as a foodie's artistic use of shredded celery stalks. Anyway, here's his "Goodbye": He should keep that hair in a plastic bag somewhere, as a keepsake. Or he could sell it on eBay someday, if he needs some quick cash. Back on August 12, Jared shared a cute little video on Twitter, covering up his hair: Was his green hair already gone at that point, or was he just hiding it? You probably already saw the "Suicide Squad" cast's tattoos for each other, to celebrate the end of filming, and Cara Delevingne showed off her rather unusual wrap gift: Love the hand-written "...or someone else's." Nice touch. "Suicide Squad" is scheduled for release August 5, 2016. Want more stuff like this? Like us on Facebook. This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |
David Boreanaz: Late Start on 'Bones' Season 11 Due to 'Personal Health Issue' Posted: "Bones" started shooting Season 11 in the first week of August, but star David Boreanaz was late to class and only just started filming this week. Why? TVLine got an update from Booth himself, who said he had a health scare earlier this summer. It was apparently a bad reaction to an antibiotic, but he's recovered enough to now be on set, taping scenes that will be inserted into the episodes he missed, including the premiere. Here's a statement from David: That premiere arrives October 1 on FOX. TVLine had previously said that , to accommodate his late start, "Bones" created a Season 11 storyline where Booth goes missing. They said "24" star Kim Raver would be appearing as Grace Miller, a FBI special agent brought in to assist the investigation surrounding Booth's disappearance. Here's hoping Bones is found safe and sound, and David stays healthy and strong. Want more stuff like this? Like us on Facebook. This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |
Jennifer Lawrence, Amy Schumer Are Writing Secret Movie Together Posted: Jennifer Lawrence may have just broken the internet. Again. "The Hunger Games" star revealed that she is cowriting a film with new BFF Amy Schumer ("Trainwreck"). "We play sisters [in the film]," Lawrence said in an interview with the New York Times. "We're almost done writing. It just flowed out of us. We've got about 100 pages right now." The Oscar-winner also told the Times what everyone really wants to know: How this team-up happened. "I emailed her after I saw 'Trainwreck' and said, 'I don't know where to get started. I guess I should just say it: I'm in love with you,'" Lawrence recalled "We started emailing, and then emailing turned to texting." And texting turned into jet skiing together in early August and then writing a movie, naturally. "Amy and I were creatively made for each other," Lawrence said. "It's been the most fun experience of my life. We start the day off on the phone, laughing. And then we send each other pages. And we crack up. We'll write a little bit with her sister, Kim, who worked with Amy when she was writing 'Trainwreck.'" No word yet when (or if) this movie will hit theaters, but we wanna already buy our tickets. Virginia Shooting: 2 Killed, 1 Injured During Live TV News Broadcast Posted: Unbelievable. According to WDBJ7, two of their own employees were shot to death this morning during a live broadcast around 6:45 a.m. in Moneta, Virginia. Reporter Alison Parker, 24, and photographer Adam Ward, 27, were killed. Vicki Gardner of the Smith Mountain Lake Regional Chamber of Commerce was injured in the shooting and was said to be in surgery. Details are still coming in, but see below for a photo of the suspected shooter, who is reportedly a "disgruntled" former station employee with grievances against Adam and Alison. According to WHSV, the Augusta County Sheriff's Department identified the suspect as Vester Lee Flanagan, but on air he went by Bryce Williams. WHSV later updated that Flanagan had shot himself and was in critical condition. Not too long after that, the news came in that the alleged gunman had died. This is the most heartbreaking part of an already heartbreaking tragedy: Both of the slain young journalists had new reasons to be excited about their futures, with Adam engaged and Alison starting a relationship with WDBJ anchor Chris Hurst. Chris tweeted his sorrow and shared their love story: So incredibly sad -- and maddening. #WDBJ is now trending on Wednesday morning, and the news site has been updating with information as it comes in: Keep an eye on them for more. Our deepest condolences to the families, and viewers who are also traumatized by what happened. It's hard to imagine how this can be explained, but it's relaunching debates on how future gun violence can be prevented.Want more stuff like this? Like us on Facebook. Vin Diesel Confirms 'XXX' Return, Reveals Filming Start Date Posted: They should just keep adding "X"s every time there's a new movie. Back in 2002, Vin Diesel introduced Xander Cage in "xXx." Ice Cube then took the lead as Darius Stone/xXx in 2005's "xXx: State of the Union." Now Vin has confirmed he's back for the third "xXx" movie, which IMDb is calling "xXx: The Return of Xander Cage" with the movie's status in "pre-production." That's the name they were going with back in 2009, when the director of "Invincible" was going to take on "xXx3," with plans to start shooting in 2010. Obviously that fell through, and it's not clear yet what else has changed. Here's the latest word from Vin himself, via Instagram: In case you can't read that, he wrote "While I was filming XXX, guys on set called me Air Diesel... The time to return has come. Filming starts December in the Philippines. #ILiveForThisShit" So "Air Diesel" is back in the air. No word yet on who will direct or co-star, but fans are excited, with the post earning more than 303,000 likes. Not too long ago, Vin also confirmed that "Furious 8" is happening and already has a release date. Want more stuff like this? Like us on Facebook. Watch 'Star Trek Beyond' Cast's Salute to Leonard Nimoy, Win a Walk-On Role Posted: He lived long and he prospered, and Leonard Nimoy is being honored by the cast of the upcoming movie "Star Trek Beyond." The lucky fan will be randomly chosen from the pool of donors, and funds will be split among nine organizations chosen by cast members, including St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital. Leonard Nimoy was "passionate about" St. Jude's, Zachary noted in the tribute video, which honors the late star and asks for donations in his name: Fans are asked to visit Omaze.com/StarTrek to donate and get a chance to win a walk-on role in "Star Trek Beyond," which stars Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Karl Urban, Zoe Saldana, Anton Yelchin, Simon Pegg, John Cho, and Idris Elba and is scheduled for release on July 8, 2016. The 'Mad Max: Fury Road' Honest Trailer Mocks 'Tom Hardly in the Movie' Posted: Oh, what a diss. What a lovely diss! "Mad Max: Fury Road" -- aka "a two-hour game of Mario Kart from hell" from the grandpa director of "Happy Feet and "Babe: Pig in the City" -- just got itself a worthy Honest Trailer. Because even great movies deserve a few digs. The Screen Junkies video mocks the movie for being short on plot, and set in a world short on fuel and water where everyone drives gas-guzzlers and wastes all the water. "And there's a guy named Max in it too," they offer as an aside. "He just kind of hangs out. Tom Hardy *kind of* stars as Mad Max, the role Mel Gibson got too mad to play. He's a man of few words, but many grunts." In the end, the actor is billed as "Tom Hardly in the Movie." (Ouch) They also credit "Bane With a Sleep Apnea Machine" and 'Real Housewives of the Citadel," and they may be right in suggesting the real winners of the movie are the makers of silver food mist. Check it out: "Mad Max: Fury Road" is out on DVD/Blu-ray this coming Tuesday, September 1. Watch the trailer. Want more stuff like this? Like us on Facebook. Rayanne of 'My So-Called Life' Is Now the Countess of Devon Posted: Way to go, Rayanne! A.J. Langer, 41, is living out her own "Downton Abbey" fairy tale. The actress best known as Rayanne Graff on "My So-Called Life" is now the Countess of Devon and mistress of a 600-year-old, 4,000-acre British estate. We'd call that a so-called awesome life. A.J. -- who also starred in "Baywatch," "The Wonder Years" and "Private Practice" -- met her husband, Charles Courtenay, in Las Vegas in 2002 and married him back in 2005. They are only in the news now because his father, the Earl of Devon, just passed away. That means Charles now has that title and A.J. (aka Allison Joy) is the Countess of Devon and their crib is Powderham Castle in Exeter, Devon, England. Not bad for a girl from Columbus, Ohio! Here are photos of the couple and their castle. A.J. told Breezy Mama back in 2009 that she, Charles and their two children, Joscelyn, now 8, and Jack, 6, are just a normal family. "The whole title thing...I am no expert," A.J. said (via The Daily Beast) of being lord and lady. "It means they have a verrrrrrry big and long family tree. It means more to some people and less to others. It definitely makes for interesting conversation, and an interesting story. Am I royalty now? No-I am not royalty...by marrying Charlie I can take the courtesy title of 'Lady,' and my children can take the title 'Honorable.' If Charlie becomes the Earl of Devon, my title would become the Countess of Devon and our kids would be Lords and Ladies." (That's what just happened.) "But we don't use the titles in our daily lives," she continued, "they are there and we respect the history that gave rise to them, but in our reality we're just a normal family." Her husband Charles told the site in 2009, "Royalty implies a person is a member of the royal family, which we are not. An Earldom is an aristocratic or noble title granted by the King or Queen of the time-in our case by Queen Mary Tudor-but it is not a royal title and, save for Joscelyn who thinks she's a princess, we're not considered royalty." Every little girl is a princess, whether she's royal, a "lady," or just a cool little commoner like the rest of us. But it's pretty cool to go back and watch "My So-Called Life" and imagine Rayanne Graff someday becoming a countess. Who knew? Want more stuff like this? Like us on Facebook. Posted: If you're like us and value your sleep, you probably nodded off into your Ambien dreamland before the party started on post-prime time TV. Don't worry; we've got you covered. Here's the best of what happened last night on late night. Kristin Chenoweth was on "Conan" and, it turns out, she likes to manscape her male friends -- but only above the neck. Kristin said Conan O'Brien had "some brow issues," pointing out what she'd change. So Conan broke out a tweezer and let her do it. His eyes teared up and Andy Richter said he was crying because he's never been this pretty. Conan's reasoning was "ONE DIRECTION'S BREAKING UP!" Speaking of 1D, the talk shows have been having fun with this "break," and Conan had a video suggesting replacement boy bands. Skip the centipede, go for the ferns! Seth MacFarlane was sick and sounded "like Rachael Ray" but he still went on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" to promote "Blunt Talk." Since Seth does so many voices on different shows, Jimmy noted that it's like 125 different people getting sick at once. Seth doesn't draw for his shows anymore, but he was trained as an animator and got into writing that way. Since Seth likes to draw, and he had voice issues, Jimmy decided to have them draw two audience members who had met on a dating site. Jimmy kept a running commentary going while they drew. It took a long time. And Seth kinda cheated. Producer Brian Grazer was on "Jimmy Kimmel Live to promote his book. He talked about people pitching movies to him at all times in all places. There's a long story about heading to the Amazon, and when he was peeing in a bush, a guy came over and pitched him a movie. He also said he used a torture expert to help Jim Carrey continue to shoot "How The Grinch Stole Christmas" even after Jim was so uncomfortable going through the makeup process he wanted to quit. Interesting story. Jimmy broke out the #FingerOfShame, sharing fan tweets with that hashtag to point out bad behavior. All those poor businesses named ISIS. It was such a harmless name not too long ago. Sadly, Jimmy Fallon, Seth Meyers, and James Corden are still on repeats this week, and Stephen Colbert doesn't start his gig until September 8. Pretty soon, late night will be jam-packed! Want more stuff like this? Like us on Facebook. This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |
