'Anomalisa' Trailer Shows Off One of The Most Beautiful Movies of 2015 Posted: 02 Nov 2015 08:30 PM PST Anomalisa is one of the most interesting, emotionally complex and heartfelt movies of 2015. It also happens to be a stop-motion animated movie written and co-directed by Charlie Kaufman (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind) that takes place almost entirely in a hotel and features countless characters who all have the same face and voice. Basically, it is not an easy movie to sell in a trailer that's only 120 seconds long. That said, the first trailer for Anomalisa does a tremendous job of showing off the beautiful and unique animation. It taps in to the movie's core theme - about so desperately wanting to find another human to connect with - in an easily understandable way, and it leaves you wanting to see more. However, it's also not a wholly accurate... Read More This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |
A Terminal Cancer Patient Is Trying to See 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' Before He Dies Posted: 02 Nov 2015 07:00 PM PST In the 2009 movie Fanboys, a terminally ill Star Wars fan drives out to George Lucas's Skywalker Ranch with his friends in the hopes of seeing the not-yet-released The Phantom Menace before he dies. Now a real-life terminally ill Star Wars fan is attempting to see Star Wars: The Force Awakens before he passes away. Daniel Fleetwood is a 32-year-old Texan suffering from a rare type of cancer called spindle cell sarcoma. According to his local NBC affiliate, he was told in July that he only had two months to live, and while he's already made it past that deadline he's pretty certain he won't last until the December 18 release of the seventh Star Wars installment. video platformvideo managementvideo... Laugh Off the New James Bond With a NSFW Trailer for 'The Brothers Grimsby' Posted: 02 Nov 2015 06:00 PM PST There's a new James Bond movie coming this week (or it's already out if you're in the UK), and that means it's also time to hear about a new James Bond parody to follow in its path. Or at least a new spy comedy that seems to poke fun at the 007 franchise. Here's what you need to know about The Brothers Grimsby plus its brand new Red Band trailer: Mark Strong is the James Bond type You've seen him recenty as a Bond villain type in ads for Jaguar and as a trainer of a new generation of 007 wannabes in Kingsman: The Secret Service. Now he's the tough spy hero at the center of The Brothers Grimsby, whose actions are seen firsthand thanks to a POV camera in his contact lenses. He's MI6's greatest asset. Sacha Baron Cohen... See the 'Inside Out' Emotions That Didn't Make the Movie Posted: 02 Nov 2015 01:20 PM PST Last summer, Pixar's Inside Out took audiences into the brain of young Riley as she was uprooted from her beloved Midwestern home by her parents' decision to move to San Francisco. Her primary emotions -- Joy, Fear, Anger, Disgust, and Sadness -- were thrown into conflict as Riley struggled to adapt to a new city, a new house and a new school. The movie met with critical and popular success, earning more than $354 million at the U.S. box office. Inevitably, however, some wondered how Riley's emotions were selected. While six "classic" emotions -- happy, surprised, afraid, disgusted, angry and sad -- have long been recognized, recent research suggests there may be only four "basic" emotions: happy, sad, afraid/surprised, and angry/disgusted. So how... Read More This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |
