Before hitting the big screen, the Guardians of the Galaxy were a pretty niche team confined to comic books and animated kids shows. But then writer-director James Gunn came along and made a movie about them; a movie that very, very quickly became one of the most beloved Marvel movies and a box office phenomenon to boot, raking in even more money than even Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
