Watch New Trailers for 'The Belko Experiment,' 'Sleight' and 'The Shack' Posted: 01 Dec 2016 07:30 PM PST Three new trailers arrived at our doorstep today, and each has an enigmatic quality to its plot. Watch the new spots for The Belko Experiment, Sleight and The Shack below. The Belko Experiment With a premise reminiscent of many psychological experiment-based plots, including The Purge and Battle Royale, this thriller from the Blumhouse brand looks messed up, especially in the following blood-soaked Red Band trailer. Written and produced by Guardians of the Galaxy helmer James Gunn and directed by Wolf Creek's Greg McLean, the movie pits employee against employee in a locked-down office building where a voice orders them to murder so many people or a larger amount of people will die. Gunn... Read More This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |
'La La Land,' 'Moonlight' and 'Arrival' Lead Critics' Choice Nominations Posted: 01 Dec 2016 06:00 PM PST Nominations have been announced for the 22nd annual Critics' Choice Awards, to be televised live on A&E on December 11, and this is really your first chance to get a sense of the year's major awards contenders, as well as the frontrunners too. Those frontrunners, according to the members of the Broadcast Film Critics Association, include La La Land, Moonlight and Arrival, as all three lead nominees this year. Most notably La La Land, as the movie-musical from writer-director Damien Chazelle scored a whopping 12 nominations (Best Picture, Ryan Gosling for Best Actor, Emma Stone for Best Actress, Damien Chazelle for Best Director and Best Original Screenplay, among them). Advance tickets for La La Land, which hits theaters in limited release on December 9, are now... Read More This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |

Tom Cruise Faces an Ancient Evil In First 'The Mummy' Teaser Posted: 01 Dec 2016 03:00 PM PST When most people think of The Mummy, they likely think of the tongue-in-cheek, Brendan Fraiser-starring reboot from the late '90s that was less a horror movie and more of a family adventure that went for laughs instead of scares. But when The Mummy first emerged back in 1932 it was unmistakably a horror movie about a young woman stalked by the reanimated corpse of an ancient Egyptian prince. So when a reboot of The Mummy hits theaters on June 9, 2017, it's already got the difficult task of bridging the expectations of those who want an adventure movie and those who want a fantasy-filled horror movie. Thankfully the team behind it seems up to the task. For starters, it's got a screenplay from Doctor Strange and Passengers writer Jon Spaihts and is directed... Decades After Tim Burton's 'Batman,' Billy Dee Williams Will Finally Become Two-Face Posted: 01 Dec 2016 01:30 PM PST In a career that dates back to 1959, Billy Dee Williams has appeared in dozens of films and television shows. He first made his mark starring opposite James Caan in the tearjerking TV movie Brian's Song and he followed that up by starring opposite Diana Ross in Lady Sings the Blues and Mahogany. Williams really hit the big time, though, when he costarred as Han Solo's roguish old buddy Lando Calrissian in Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back and Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi. The role cemented Williams' place in the unofficial geek hall of fame, a position that was strengthened when he appeared in Tim Burton's Batman as Harvey Dent (pictured above). The character has a long history In DC comic books. His origin has been changed several... Read More This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |
Posted: 01 Dec 2016 12:00 PM PST Alien: Covanant: 20th Century Fox celebrated Ridley Scott's birthday yesterday by sharing a photo of the director on the set of Alien: Covenant. Sharp-eyed observers noted that the chair in the background may be holding an alien "Engineer," similar to the so-called "Space Jockey" seen in Scott's original Alien. Michael Fassbender, Katherine Waterston, Demian Bichir and Danny McBride star; the movie is heading for release on May 19, 2017. [Twitter/Bloody Disgusting] Detective Pikachu: Rob Letterman (Goosebumps) will direct Detective Pikachu. Nicole Perlman and Alex Hirsch have written the script for the live-action movie, based on a character and storyline in the incredibly popular Pokémon universe, which followed "a boy who... Watch Napoleon Dynamite and Pedro Reunite for Cheesy Tots Posted: 01 Dec 2016 11:00 AM PST 2004's Napoleon Dynamite was one of the biggest success stories out of the Sundance Film Festival, launching careers for Jon Heder (Napoleon), Efren Ramirez (Pedro) and writer-director Jared Hess. It's also one of those rare hits that permeated popular culture in a huge way and yet they never produced a sequel... until now... ... kind of. Heder and Ramirez reunited for a new Burger King campaign tied to the return of their cheesy tots, an amusing reference to the tots-related moment in the film itself. Neither actor looks like they are completely reprising their individual roles -- Heder seems reluctant to fully go there -- it's like Napoleon gew up and just became your average dude -- but those hankering to see Napoleon and Pedro back again talking about the...
