'The Dark Tower,' 'Jumanji' and 'Baby Driver' Shift Release Dates -- Here's When You Can Watch Them

Posted: 03 Nov 2016 08:00 PM PDT

Three major films are on the move, but for reasons that should ultimately make them better movies. The highly anticipated adaptation of Stephen King's The Dark Tower starring Idris Elba and Matthew McConaughey was supposed to come out this February, but that has since been pushed back to July 28, 2017 in order to give everyone more time to finish a movie that just wrapped production a couple months ago. Due to Dark Tower sliding into a spot originally held by the reboot/sequel (or requel) of Jumanji, that film starring Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart and Jack Black, will now shift to December 22, 2017, positioning it as the big family movie for next Christmas. Meanwhile, Edgar Wright's (Shaun of the Dead, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World) next film, Baby Driver, has also been...

New 'Office Christmas Party' Trailer Promises The Craziest Party Ever

Posted: 03 Nov 2016 07:30 PM PDT

There are basically two ways a movie called Office Christmas Party can go. Either it's a lowkey, dry Sundance dramedy about someone's mundane life spiraling out of control after they experience yet another boring holiday party at their dead end job. Or it's a raunchy comedy about the most outrageous company party ever. Guess which route the new movie from the directors of The Switch and Blades of Glory took? Featuring a ridiculous cast that includes Jason Bateman, Jennifer Aniston, T.J. Miller, Kate McKinnon, Olivia Munn, Rob Corddry, Randall Park, Jamie Chung, Abbey Lee and Courtney B. Vance, Office Christmas Party is a raunchy, R-rated comedy about a couple of employees who go for broke and through a raging shindig at their office. They're not actually...

'Starship Troopers' Is Getting a Reboot From 'Friday the 13th' Writers

Posted: 03 Nov 2016 06:00 PM PDT

Five years ago a pair of X-Men: First Class writers were hired to cook up a reboot of the classic man vs intergalactic, man-eating bugs tale, Starship Troopers. Less than a year after that news hit, original Starship Troopers director Paul Verhoeven predicted the remake would probably die on the vine because the remake of another of his iconic sci-fi classics, Total Recall, failed at the box office. Now we know Verhoeven's prediction was right, at least about that particular version. That reboot attempt, which was said to be less violent, never came to pass, but now Columbia Pictures has pressed the reboot button once again. The Hollywood Reporter broke news the studio has hired Damian Shannon and Mark Swift to write the screenplay, which is an inspired choice. Shannon...

Update: The Full 'La La Land' Trailer Brings You Into Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling's World

Posted: 03 Nov 2016 04:30 PM PDT

UPDATE 11/3: The full trailer for La La Land is now online. Check it out at the bottom of this post.   No director has exploded on the scene in recent years quite like Damien Chazelle. 2014's Whiplash wasn't actually his directorial debut, but it is the movie that vaulted him right to the top of many, many people's must watch lists. It helps that Whiplash is an incredible film, but what really helped fuel the buzz that Chazelle was the 'next big thing' was his age-- he was only 29 when he made the Oscar-nominated movie. Now that Chazelle has hit the wise, staggering age of 31 he's got a follow-up to Whiplash. It's called La La Land and stars Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone as two aspiring artists who fall in love over the backdrop of early 20th...

Choose Life, Choose Facebook, Choose the First 'Trainspotting 2' Trailer

Posted: 03 Nov 2016 03:00 PM PDT

They really did it. After years and years of talk and little expectation that it'd ever come together, they finally got the gang all back together and made a sequel to Trainspotting. By "they," we mean original director Danny Boyle, original screenwriter John Hodge (adapting the sequel novel by author Irvine Welsh) and original producer Andrew Macdonald. And by "gang all," we mean Renton (Ewan McGregor), Sick Boy (Jonny Lee Miller), Spud (Ewen Bremner) and Begbie (Robert Carlyle), plus Mickey Forrester (Welsh), Diane (Kelly Macdonald) and Gail (Shirley Henderson). The title: T2: Trainspotting. And as proof it's really happening, the first (NSFW) UK trailer is here, and it's like a little reunion on your screen. McGregor as Renton is back...

Watch a New 'Wonder Woman' Trailer and Be Amazed

Posted: 03 Nov 2016 12:00 PM PDT

When the new Wonder Woman made her big-screen debut in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice earlier this year, it was a big boost to the movie as well as to loyal fans of the comic book character. Gal Gadot made a strong impression, both as antiquities dealer and entrepreneur Diana Prince, her secret identity, and as a powerful Amazonian princess who comes to the aid of Batman and Superman. Though brief, Wonder Woman's debut raised expectations for the upcoming solo movie that will serve as an origin story, detailing how the character is introduced during World War I. The first trailer, which premiered at Comic-Con, featured spectacular large-scale action scenes that showcased Wonder Woman's abilities. Gadot promises that the movie will tell "a very simple story...
