| Well Go USA’s ‘Beyond Redemption’ hits Blu-ray in February Posted: 24 Nov 2016 11:09 AM PST  “Beyond Redemption” Teaser Poster On February 7th, 2017, Well Go USA will be releasing Beyond Redemption to Blu-ray & DVD. This upcoming actioner stars Brian Ho (Marco Polo), Osric Chau (Killing Poe) and Hong Kong cinema great, Eddy Ko (Heroes Shed No Tears). Beyond Redemption is directed by veteran Hong Kong actor/stuntman Bruce Fontaine (Armour of God II, Once Upon a Time in China, Big Bullet), so we’re expecting to see some of that Hong Kong-style action that comes with Fontaine’s territory. Beyond Redemption follows a weary undercover cop who must maintain his cover while trying to save the daughter of a notorious Triad Boss from becoming collateral damage in a sting operation gone wrong. The film also stars Linna Huynh, Tony Towe, Don Lew, Paul Wu, Johnson Phan, Vicky Huang, Darren E. Scott, Patrick Sabongui and Youtube stars Peter Chao, The Chengman and Leenda Dong. | Go behind-the-scenes with ‘Raid 2’ stars for a ‘Headshot’ Posted: 24 Nov 2016 01:00 AM PST  “Headshot” Theatrical Poster The Mo Brothers, the filmmaking duo separately known as Timo Tjahjanto and Kimo Stamboel, are teaming up with The Raid's Iko Uwais for an action film titled Headshot. Starring alongside Uwais will be fellow Indonesian actresses Chelsea Elizabeth Islan (Refrain) and Julie Estelle ("Hammer Girl" from Raid 2), as well as Sunny Pang (The Collector). According to Deadline, Headshot focuses on an amnesiac (Uwais) who, Bourne Identity-style, washes ashore with a serious and mysterious head injury. Shortly after being nursed back to health by a young doctor (Islan), his past comes back to haunt him. If you're familiar with The Mo Brothers' work – such as the thrillers Macabre and Killers – expect a serious amount of bloodletting and hardcore violence. Of course, topping it off with Uwais' fluid martial arts skill, one can only imagine the film's insane outcome. After all, it is called Headshot. XYZ Films and Vertical are distributing the film, which will be released in February 2017. Other Uwais films potentially in the works include Gareth Evans' Blister and Peter Berg's Mile 22. You can also catch him in the upcoming sci-fi film, Beyond Skyline, a sequel to 2010's Skyline. | Celina Jade howls in for Wu Jing’s ‘Wolf Warrior II’ Posted: 24 Nov 2016 12:00 AM PST  “Wolf Warriors II” Chinese Teaser Poster A sequel to 2015’s Wolf Warrior is currently in production. Jacky Wu Jing (SPL II: A Time for Consequences) is once again starring and directing. Yu Nan (The Expendables 2) also returns. According to AFS, Wolf Warrior II will be set in a war-torn African country. Other confirmed cast members include Olympic gymnast Zou Kai. Frank Grillo (Captain America: The Winter Soldier, The Purge: Anarchy and the upcoming Iko Uwais flick, Beyond Skyline) will be playing a mercenary commander who goes head-to-head with Wu Jing. For Wolf Warrior II, Jing aims to topple the original. He’s even enlisted the help of Hollywood heavies, The Russo Brothers (Captain America: The Winter Soldier): “We're helping Wu Jing out on Wolf Warrior 2. We introduced him to some of our relationships in the business, like a stunt team that's going to come in and work hard with him to elevate the action on the film because the second time out he really wants to up his game and outperform the first movie, which did incredibly well,” Joe Russo told LA Times. Handling action for the film will be Hong Kong veteran Jack Wong (SPL II: A Time for Consequences) and Sam Hargrave (fight coordinator for Captain America Civil War) and his team (via Mike Leeder). The original Wolf Warrior starred Scott Adkins (Close Range), Kevin Lee (Pound of Flesh), Deng Ziyi (Pay Back), Sona Eyambe (Zombie 108), Kyle Shapiro (Dragon Blade) and Samuel Thivierge (In the End).
