Mark Your Calendars: Here's When You Can Watch the Next 'Mission: Impossible' Moive Posted: 09 Nov 2016 08:30 PM PST There are a few actor and filmmaker matchups that you can always, always count on generating something special. That’s the case with Tom Cruise and Christopher McQuarrie. Jack Reacher, Edge of Tomorrow, Valykrie, Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation-- it doesn’t matter if McQuarrie is just writing or if he’s also directing, if they have credits on the same movie, you’re going to have a good time. With that in mind, you should go ahead and make a mental note that you have somewhere to be on July 27, 2018. That’s when Cruise and McQuarrie’s next film together, the currently untitled Mission: Impossible 6, will hit theaters. Unfortunately right now all we know about the project are those two names. We Have a Real-Life 'Avengers' Team In Case the Aliens from 'Arrival' Actually Show Up Posted: 09 Nov 2016 06:30 PM PST When Arrival hits theaters this weekend, audiences will finally be able to watch one of the best movies of the year -- a unique and brainy sci-fi movie that's very different from your typical aliens-arrive-on-earth story. The film has already received rave reviews (including one from yours truly), and Amy Adams' terrific performance as a linguist tasked with communicating with an alien race is already garnering Oscar buzz. But what if aliens really did arrive on our planet -- would we really send in a linguist to help save the day? Chances are, yes. In an interview with Cinema Blend, Arrival screenwriter Eric Heisserer revealed that he actually spoke with two of the people who are on a top secret team designed to respond should we come in contact with an... Here's the latest on some of the biggest franchises and more: X-Men With X-Men: Apocalypse underperforming and most of the star's contracts up, the X-Men franchise will be "reconfigured," according to The Hollywood Reporter. DVD Obscura: The New Indie and International Movies You Need to Watch Posted: 09 Nov 2016 03:30 PM PST New Indie Being known as “the farting corpse movie” at Sundance would present quite a hurdle for any film, but Swiss Army Man (Lionsgate Home Entertainment) managed to overcome that sobriquet and turn into one of the year’s most successful indie movies. Paul Dano stars as Hank, a hopeless romantic stranded on a deserted island, who befriends the late Manny (Daniel Radcliffe), who washes ashore one day. Together, the two teach each other about life and love, inspiring Hank to go after the girl of his dreams. This eccentric and visually lush debut feature from the music-video directing team known as DANIELS charmed audiences worldwide.
