The New 'Spider-Man' Has a Telling Short List of Potential Directors Posted: 05 May 2015 09:30 PM PDT Before we even go any further, it's worth pointing out that the short lists for directors on big projects isn't always that accurate. For example, James Wan wasn't on a rumored list for Furious 7, nor was Scott Derrickson on the reported list for Doctor Strange, and both directors landed those projects. But it can be fun to speculate on a movie's future based on the names getting tossed around, and in the case of the new Spider-Man reboot, the list and its accompanying rumor is pretty telling. According to Deadline, Marvel and Sony have narrowed the competition down to six names, two of whom would be directing together. They are: Jonathan Levine (All the Boys Love Mandy Lane, Warm Bodies) Jared Hess (Napoleon Dynamite) Ted Melfi (St. Vincent) Jason Moore... Disney Confirms New 'Indiana Jones' Plans - Here's What We Know So Far Posted: 05 May 2015 07:30 PM PDT Yesterday was Star Wars Day, and boy did it bring a lot of goodies related to the next few movies, especially this year's Star Wars: The Force Awakens. But what about the other Lucasfilm titles? When is Willow day? When do we celebrate Tucker: The Man and His Dream? When do we get news on the Howard the Duck movie that George Lucas is sure Disney will make at some point. Most important, though... When do we get another Indiana Jones movie? Actually, along with yesterday's Star Wars festivities, we did get an update on the Indiana Jones franchise. In Vanity Fair's June issue, which is where much of the latest The Force Awakens details and images came from, Lucasfilm boss Kathleen Kennedy confirmed that the chronicles of the adventuring archaeologist will... A 'Cube' Remake Is In The Works With 'Prometheus' and 'Doctor Strange' Writer Posted: 05 May 2015 06:00 PM PDT If you were a sci-fi fan in the late '90s or early '00s, chances are at one point you either said to someone or had someone say to you, "Dude, you haven't haven't seen Cube? You have got to see Cube!" Vincenzo Natali's strangers-trapped-in-a-maze science fiction puzzler was a regular mainstay of video stores and VHS/DVD swaps after it started blowing minds in 1997, so much so that it's actually a little surprising it's taken nearly 15+ years for a remake to get off the ground. There have been two sequels to Cube since then (Cube 2: Hypercube is actually kind of great), but they both went straight to home video. There's a chance this new version is heading to the big screen, though, thanks to some heavy hitting talent. The Hollywood... Posted: 05 May 2015 01:30 PM PDT Back in February, John Wick directors David Leitch and Chad Stahelski told us that they were already working on a sequel to one of last year's most entertaining action movies, and now Lionsgate has confirmed John Wick 2 is officially a go -- with both directors and screenwriter Derek Kolstad returning, as well as star Keanu Reeves. No other details were revealed about the Wick follow-up, which will once again track the crazy, bullet-ridden life of notorious assassin John Wick (Reeves). The first film introduced a great little mythology, revealing a world of assassins who operate out of a hotel set up specifically for them. When we spoke with Leitch and Stahelski about the potential sequel a few months back, here's what they had to say: “We have ideas for... The story follows a volunteer police officer who decides to follow in the footsteps of his mother, a highly decorated former officer, after she dies. [The Hollywood Reporter] It: Will Poulter (We're the Millers) is in negotiations to play Pennywise the Clown in Cary Fukunaga's adaptation of Stephen King's horror novel It.
