'X-Men' Spin-Off Movie 'The New Mutants' Is Happening And Already Has a Director Posted: 13 May 2015 08:35 PM PDT The X-Men franchise was the first of the major superhero movies to try and expand its universe by spinning off characters into their own movies, but the reception to X-Men Origins: Wolverine put the breaks on other origin movies, like Magneto. The X-Men movies have all grown stronger since then, though, both with audiences and critics, and so now Fox is trying to get back into the spin-off business. The studio also wants to stay in the Josh Boone business, seeing as the director made a pretty penny for them with 2014's surprise hit The Fault in Our Stars, and have hired him to start a spin-off franchise with The New Mutants. It's unclear at this stage specifically which New Mutants roster will be utilized in this movie, as there are several in the comics, but as the... So, after you see Pitch Perfect 2 this weekend, you can continue the experience with these five tips: 1. Watch the Real-Life Pitch Perfect on TV There's a new show calling itself the real Pitch Perfect debuting tonight on the cable channel Pop. 'The Tribe' Trailer Prepares You For a Grueling, One-of-a-Kind Movie Experience Posted: 13 May 2015 05:30 PM PDT The Tribe is unlike any movie you've ever seen. That's not hyperbole, and that's not us trying to prepare you for the greatest movie ever made, either. All we're saying is that The Tribe is, to put it simply, truly unique. So what makes it so unique? The Tribe has no dialogue, no music, and a minimalist sound design. Why? Because the entire film takes place at a Ukranian school for the deaf. And yes, the characters do use Ukranian sign language throughout the movie, but there are no subtitles to explain what they're talking about. You're probably thinking that sounds like the most arthouse-y arthouse movie ever made, and you wouldn't be entirely wrong, but that's also kind of the point. The Tribe is essentially an experimental film that... Read More This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |

Posted: 13 May 2015 12:00 PM PDT Marvel: Ava Duvernay, who directed the Academy Award-nominated drama Selma (above), is under consideration by Marvel to helm "one of its diverse superhero movies," including Black Panther or Captain Marvel. The former title is reported to be more likely, since it has a slightly earlier release date of July 6, 2018; Chadwick Boseman is set to star as the titular hero. Marvel is looking at other directors as well, so it's not a done deal yet. [The Wrap] The Fugitive: A new installment of The Fugitive is on its way. The 1960s TV series was transformed into an exciting action picture starring Harrison Ford as a doctor accused of murdering his wife before going on the run, with Tommy Lee Jones as a dogged U.S. Marshal in pursuit; Jones returned in a 1998...
