Here's a motion poster made with oil paint by artists Zachary Johnson and Ronen V (via Laughing Squid) Among this year's tributes to Mad Men, here's comedian Dana Gould geeking out about the show's accuracy on a piece of marketing for Planet of the Apes followed by another front page of the promotional newspaper (via Dangerous Minds): Cosplay of the Day: Frozen's Elsa becomes a warrior queen based off some... Everything You Ever Wanted To Know About 'Mad Max: Fury Road' Is In This Book Posted: 20 May 2015 07:47 PM PDT George Miller is an absolute visionary and without him there's no denying that Mad Max: Fury Road be a very, very different movie. However, he didn't build its world entirely on his own. Miller spent nearly two decades working on the movie with a close team of artists to flesh out every single detail of the hellish world that Max lives in, and the amazing characters that occupy it. They came up with a backstory for every single thing in the movie, big and small, even if it was something that would never actually end up in the final movie. But if you're the kind of fan who obsesses about a movie and wants to learn as much about it as possible, then Titan Books is here to save you. They've just published the must-own The Art of Mad Max: Fury Road, which is basically... Read More This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |
'Cooties' Trailer Runs From a Horde of Zombie Kids Posted: 20 May 2015 07:00 PM PDT Some movies only take a single sentence to pitch and you instantly understand exactly what you're going to get. So here's the simple pitch for a new horror comedy: What if cooties was an actual virus that turned kids into zombies and a bunch of elementary school teachers had to fight them off? That's a pretty great idea all on its own, but when you throw in Elijah Wood, Alison Pill, Rainn Wilson, Nasim Pedrad, Jack McBrayer, and Leigh Whannell, Cooties becomes something truly special. Cooties actually first premiered at Sundance 2014, but since then Lionsgate has given the filmmakers the resources to shoot a new ending (their choice), and having recently seen the world premiere of that version at the Stanley Film Festival, we can attest that the whole thing is a ton... Chris Pratt on 'Ghostbusters' and 'Indiana Jones' Rumors and His Expanded Presence in Marvel Movies Posted: 20 May 2015 05:30 PM PDT Chris Pratt, who starred in two of last year's top-grossing movies (The Lego Movie and Guardians of the Galaxy) and leads one of this summer's most anticipated sequels (Jurassic World), might just be the hottest actor in Hollywood right now. Every studio wants him for their biggest franchises, even if they're not telling him about this desire. That lack of direct communication is why we're hearing just as many rumors about his potential future roles as actual confirmed gigs. Let's try to sort these projects out with help from a new interview Pratt did with GQ magazine. Is Chris Pratt the new Indiana Jones? Ever since that wonderful Photoshop of Pratt as Indy popped up online, fans and even Disney and Steven Spielberg have expressed an interest in the... You Can Now Buy Gremlins, Werewolves, Aliens and More Movie Magic From the Legendary Rick Baker Posted: 20 May 2015 03:45 PM PDT If your movie has a non-human character as one of its main characters, you call make-up effects artist Rick Baker. He created all of the Gremlins in Gremlins 2, the werewolf in An American Werewolf in London, Harry of Harry and the Hendersons, Joe of Mighty Joe Young, and all of the apes of Planet of the Apes. Heck, he even made the baby in Baby's Day Out. Basically, Baker has given us all countless pieces of movie magic that we've all grown to love over the years. And now the Oscar-winning artist wants to literally give you those things. Or, at least, he wants to give you the opportunity to own those things, as he's auctioning off a warehouse full of props built over the course of his entire career. The auction will be held in Los Angeles on May 29, 2015, but... Read More This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |
Watch: Bill Murray's Hilarious Farewell to David Letterman Posted: 20 May 2015 01:30 PM PDT It's time to finally bid farewell to David Letterman this week, with his final show scheduled to air Wednesday night. As such, some of Letterman's old favorites are popping up to say goodbye in their own ways -- with perhaps none as unique and inventive as Bill Murray, whose final appearance alongside his longtime pal began with the actor popping out of a cake. Once he was out of the cake, Murray then proceeded to quite literally beg Letterman not to leave, eventually barging out of the studio covered in cake and taking to the streets of New York City to protest Letterman's departure. His final words... "I don’t think my place is here trying to crowbar you into staying for another 30 years, I don’t think I should do that,” he continued... Posted: 20 May 2015 12:00 PM PDT Star Wars: Lawrence Kasdan, who most recently co-wrote Star Wars: The Force Awakens with J.J. Abrams, says, "Right now, there’s no Lando Calrissian [the character played by Billy Dee Williams] in this movie. But Lando I don’t think is finished in any way, shape, or form." Kasdan, who also co-wrote The Empire Strikes Back -- he's pictured above with director Irvin Kershner, producer Gary Kurtz, and George Lucas -- and Return of the Jedi, gave no other hints about the character's possible return. Recently Williams reprised the character on the animated series Star Wars Rebels. [Vanity Fair] Jack Reacher: Edward Zwick is in negotiations to co-write and possibly direct a sequel to Jack Reacher, starring Tom...
