Moviefone Presents Street Food Cinema 2015 in Los Angeles

Posted:

Street Food Cinema 2015Summer is here (well, technically it starts June 21st), which means lots of sun, beach-going, and outdoor movie-viewing. Yeah, you read that right. The traditional movie-going experience is great and all, but being cooped up in a theater means missing the beautiful weather outside -- including sunsets, cool breezes, and starry skies.

Luckily, Moviefone and Street Food Cinema are taking you out of the theater and onto the moonlit fields of Los Angeles's amazing parks with a 2015 outdoor screening series featuring some pretty incredible titles, like "Bridesmaids," "Ferris Bueller's Day Off," "Jaws," and many, many more.

The annual outdoor movie festival gives Los Angeles-area residents (or anyone visiting L.A. this summer) the chance to watch a diverse line-up of iconic movies and contemporary classics in the fresh summer air. While the centerpieces of the festival are the films, the event also features gourmet food trucks and music from L.A. musicians, along with a few surprises here and there. Tickets to the event are $12 for adults, which includes access to the food, music, and live entertainment.

You can check out the full Street Food Cinema 2015 schedule here, and find out plenty more on Street Food Cinema's official site.Street Food Cinema 2015

Elijah Wood and Rainn Wilson Battle Kid Zombies in 'Cooties' Trailer

Posted:

CootiesTurns out those school lunch chicken nuggets we had as kids really were that bad.

In the new trailer for "Cooties," the horror comedy that debuted at Sundance, those nuggets are the cause of a zombie outbreak -- but only among the children. The teachers, having all passed puberty, are immune, but that doesn't make them safe! Because kids can be VICIOUS. Elijah Wood, Rainn Wilson, Alison Pill, and other educators team up to escape the school before their students eat their brains. The movie received very favorable reviews at Sundance, and the trailer looks smart, funny, fun, and a little unseemly (adults bashing in kids' heads) without going over the line. Count us in to go back to school -- though, we'll pass on the chicken nuggets.

"Cooties" opens in theaters September 18.

The Amy Winehouse Documentary Trailer Will Break Your Heart

Posted:

British singer Amy Winehouse performs du
"All I'm good for is making music," Amy Winehouse says in the new full-length trailer for a documentary about the late singer.

That's just one of several statements made in the "Amy" trailer that give it such a haunting quality. Directed by Asif Kapadia ("Senna"), the doc traces the British singer's highs - winning a Grammy, performing for thousands - and lows, up to her 2011 death at the age of 27 from alcohol poisoning.

The song used in the trailer - "Back to Black," written about her breakup with ex-husband Blake Fielder-Civil - is a stark and mournful reminder of how talented Winehouse was, but also how dark her life could be.

The documentary has generated controversy, with Winehouse's family criticizing it for being "unbalanced." Reg Traviss, Winehouse's fiance at the time of her death, called it a "distorted depiction of Amy's life."

"Amy" opens in limited release on July 3.

Watch Peter Dinklage Mock 'Game of Thrones' Deaths With Coldplay Song

Posted:

Tyrion Lannister is always in some kind of trouble, but he's "still going strong" on "Game of Thrones." Most of the Starks and Baratheons cannot say the same. (Sansa Stark is alive, but it's hard to argue that she's going strong right about now.) Peter Dinklage mocked the dead guys of Westeros in a new video clip to promote Red Nose Day.

Chris Martin's Coldplay teamed up with the "Game of Thrones" cast to produce "Game of Thrones: The Musical," which will air as part of the televised Red Nose Day celebration this Thursday, May 21 at 8 p.m. on NBC. Red Nose Day is fundraiser for children's charities and donations will be accepted during the live telecast, which will feature a ton of celebrities - including (via People), Will Ferrell, Gwyneth Paltrow, Emily Blunt, John Krasinski, Jack Black, Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Pharrell Williams and more.

In this clip, Peter Dinklage sings, in part: "Remember Ned Stark? He was a lot of fun, but he didn't make it past Season 1. Robert Baratheon was part of that crew, but he never made it to Season 2. The King of the North was cool, you said, another favorite that ended up dead. You thought that Joffrey had to survive? He ain't in the credits for Season 5." Haha. Some people's parts aren't very long, he adds later, "but not me - I'm still going strong." And we're glad for it! By the way, the real Tyrion would've made a nice jape off that "parts aren't very long" lyric.

Check out the musical clip below, watch the special on Thursday, and don't forget to watch GOT this Sunday to find out what happens to Tyrion. He's not actually going that strong on Season 5 since -- spoiler alert if you're not caught up! -- he and Ser Jorah Mormont just got abducted by slavers...

'Dancing With the Stars' Recap: We Have a Winner!

Posted:

'DWTS' Crowns Mirror Ball Trophy Winner
It's here, dance fans! That huge semi-annual televised dance party is back! It's the "Dancing with the Stars" Season 20 Finale-as the giant letters across the stage continually remind us. There's lots of activity as all of the season's contestants return to the ballroom, but it's not all fun and games: the final 3 couples still work really hard with one more round of competition.

After their performances last night, the final 3 were given their dance styles for the 24-hour fusion challenge. Noah and Sharna's cha-cha/argentine tango mashup uses phrases and sequences we've seen earlier in the season, and it looks like it. Same with Rumer and Val's fox-trot/paso doble fusion, as lovely as it is. I imagine Riker and Allison's salsa/quickstep also uses sequences they have done previously, but it doesn't seem as obvious to me. Perhaps they just hide it better. But all three couples dance beautifully, receiving generous scores: Noah & Sharna: 36; Rumer & Val: 40; Riker & Allison: 40

But before the competition comes the big celebration, with lots of additional performances and video packages filling out the evening. Jason Derulo sings his auto-tuned hit "Want to Want Me"-on Sesame Street, for some reason-and reminds me of Jimmy Fallon's autotuning bit at the Emmys some years ago. Fifth Harmony sings "Worth It" while the "DWTS" women strut and wiggle; the "DWTS" men show off to the same song after the commercial break. We're treated to a silly bad lip reading video (though it's funny hearing Derek talk about pooping), an even sillier "Die Hard" parody with Tony Dovolani as Bruce Willis, and an awesome rehearsal bloopers package. And Patti LaBelle delays the final results with her song "2 Steps Away."

But the standout performance tonight is Derek and Julianne Hough, joined by two amazing young dancers (Joey German and Emma York), dancing to Sia's incredible song "Elastic Heart." Ryan Heffington's dynamic choreography is still stupendous, and executed beautifully with raw emotion and power, as the two couples violently throw each other around their rooms, breaking things. In an incredible bit of special effects, the routine starts with the last few measures of the dance in reverse. The only problem is it's difficult to watch both couples at the same time, and I want to see every tiny movement they make.

The season's 12 competitors all return for an encore performance of one of the routines they competed with during the season. Redfoo, the first eliminated contestant in the show, starts by singing an expanded version of his week 1 cha-cha, "Juicy Wiggle," even though it's not as good as his week 2 jive. I'm still disappointed about Redfoo's ouster in Week 2. He worked so hard that first week that he deserved to stay longer.

The other contestants' routines, while fun, are not necessarily my favorites. Here's what they performed, and what I'd have rather seen:

- Riker & Allison win the encore freestyle from last night's twitter competition, and reprise their Week 1 jive routine. My favorite Riker routine is too difficult a decision, so it's a tie: Riker's incredibly moving performance in their week 8 Viennese waltz, and week 9's stupendous contemporary.

- Charlotte & Keo's Week 2 "California Gurls" routine is worse than the first time around, as she had improved tremendously. If I have to pick a favorite of Charlotte's dances, it would be this one-based on her first performance of it, at least.

- Suzanne & Tony's Week 3 "Copacabana" cha-cha is still a crowd pleaser, Suzanne still terrific, and I agree this is my favorite of their dances.

- Robert & Kym's Week 1 cha-cha is still cute, but off timing. My favorite of his dances is the fun and unexpected week 7 1980s argentine tango to "Word Up."

- Chris & Witney's Week 1 "Footloose" Jive is very cute and he made a great first impression with it, but my favorite of his is the week 7 1940s-style fox-trot.

- Nastia, Derek, & Sasha's modern Charleston with Andy Grammer is still a great routine, but I have to award them a tie between their sexy week 4 argentine tango and their fun week 8 "Centuries" paso doble.

- Willow & Mark reprise their Disney Week 5 "Alice in Wonderland" routine, and as much as I like it, my favorite of theirs is a tie between their brilliant Week 4 contemporary Hunger Games routine, and their fiery week 2 Gotye argentine tango.

- Rumer & Val's Week 3 Disco is clearly chosen for the upbeat party anthem, but my favorite of theirs is their "50 Shades of Grey" waltz from the Semi-Finals, or their classic week 8 rumba.

- Patti & Artem's party "In da Club" routine from week 2 is as fun as the first time, but my favorite is her week 1 fox-trot.

- Noah & Sharna don't dance an encore per se, except for a little of their Argentine tango, with special guest Amy Purdy and Derek. But my favorite Noah routine is a tie between the awesome ensemble week 7 1970s jazz and the stunning freestyle contemporary from last night's finals.

- Michel & Peta don't get a full encore tonight either, just a tiny bit of the opening group number. It's unfortunate because he's a good dancer but his week 1 cha-cha is his best.

With the results close at hand, I'm nervous and hopeful for the end I want. I've made no attempts to hide my desires of how much I want Riker to take the title, and there's so much Riker and Allison at the top of this finale that I have my hopes up. But I still suspect that Rumer and Val will take the trophy. After Tom and Erin award Noah and Sharna third place and bid them goodbye, they make the final announcement, naming Rumer and Val the winners. Val finally has his big win.

So, how is it for you, dance fans? Did you get the final result you wanted? What are your highlights this season 20? And will you tune in again next season?

'Jupiter Ascending' Is Destroyed in Harsh (But Hilarious) Honest Trailer

Posted:

Honest Trailers: 'Jupiter Ascending'
Weirdly enough, Screen Junkies' absolute evisceration of "Jupiter Ascending" may make you want to watch it even more. It looks like one of the best (unintentional) comedies of the year. So send them some thank you flowers, Mila Kunis and Channing Tatum!

Here's the start of Screen Junkies' latest Honest Trailer:

From the directors of The Matrix and nothing else worth mentioning comes the last time anyone will give The Wachowskis money -- 'Jupiter Ascending.' Look out, Scientology, there's a ridiculous new space opera in town and it makes even less sense than 'Battlefield Earth.' So full of such terrible performances, stupid dialogue, and ridiculous characters that it's actually kind of hilarious."

This Honest Trailer is more than kind of hilarious; as usual, the sharp critiques are not only witty, they're insightful and nail the key issues. As they note: "If you've been waiting for a female sci-fi lead character on par with Ripley or Sarah Connor, get ready ... to keep waiting, as Mila Kunis spends the entire movie getiting saved, cleaning toilets, getting saved again, desperately trying to bone her savior, getting saved again, playing dress up, cleaning more toilets, and looking bored."

Watch the 5 minute 30 second takedown if you want the whole story spoiled so you don't have to see the movie yourself. Not that the plot description will do anything but confuse you further.

11 Times Olivia Benson Was the Queen of Everything

It's no wonder Taylor Swift named one of her cats after Olivia Benson from "Law and Order: SVU" -- she's been kicking butt and taking names since 1999. Before the Season 16 finale, we thought it was only appropriate to refresh our memories on what it is that makes Olivia Benson the boss lady she is. Honestly, Mariska Hargitay should have statues erected in her honor for playing such an amazing character for so many years.

Here are the 11 times Olivia Benson was simply ***Flawless.

'Bachelorette' Promo Teases Sex Scandal, Chris Harrison Expects Double Standard

Posted:

Um, about last night... no one watches "The Bachelorette" because it's classy, but fans gasped and clutched their pearls in Mrs. Dursley horror-fascination when the extended promo for Season 11 showed new Bachelorette Kaitlyn Bristowe admitting she went "too far too fast" with one of her many boyfriends. In case that wasn't clear enough, she further spelled it out on camera -- and to her remaining suitors -- she had sex with one of the guys. That's generally frowned on, even if there have been rumors that people have done it in the past (Bachelor Bob Guiney reportedly had sex with five and a half women, even though that doesn't even make sense), and fans just assume that most rose-givers get it on in the fantasy suite. Heck, even when they make a point of saying they didn't have sex, fans still think they did. That's part of the prurient nature of this show. But this would be the first time a lead -- male or female -- had opened that can of sexual worms on air.

Here's a look at the promo:
'The Bachelorette': The Bachelorette 2015 Official Trailer

Since that promo closed the show, it was a major talking point -- along with the return of Andi Dorfman's runner-up Nick Viall. Host Chris Harrison talked to TV Guide after Tuesday's episode, and the reporter noted that Kaitlyn's sex revelation must have a massive effect on the rest of the season. Chris said:

Kaitlyn, in general, is very affectionate with the guys and in her words, she made a mistake and goes too far with one of them. It's definitely an issue. But the thing with Kaitlyn you'll see is that at times she can be her own worst enemy. She's a wonderful Bachelorette because she wears her heart on her sleeve and lays everything out and says what's on her mind, but the flip side is that can get you into trouble. Like the issue with the two Bachelorettes, the social media masses often pick the lowest hanging fruit and go for that shot because it's easy. It's going to be easy to say things about Kaitlyn, so we'll see how people react. If it were a guy, would it be any different? Part of the dynamic I love about this show is that there will be a debate and talk about this, and it's not such a bad thing."

Chris lives for the drama, but it is probably going to be a bad thing for Katilyn. It remains to be seen how bad -- in terms of fan reaction. Kaitlyn would probably be in hot water just for all the making out she did. Every lead sucks face, but Kaitlyn made out with two guys right on the first night (in view of the others), and she was shown kissing everything but Tony's plants in the promo.

There are a few things going on here. One, Kaitlyn was the one fans REALLY wanted, over Britt Nilsson, who was deemed by many to be fake, humor-challenged, and possibly threatening with her pageant perfect looks. Kaitlyn was the real, funny, humble one with the big personality. But the downside of being the only one on the show is you are the only target, and you are still a flawed human being. The history of "The Bachelor" and "The Bachelorette" shows that EVERY lead is trashed during their season. Britt probably won the second she lost, especially if she does hook up with Brady, who left on Night 1 to be with her.
If there's a happy ending to the season, fans get over their hate fast. But no matter what Kaitlyn does from here, something will tick people off. The sex part -- yeah, people will take her to task for that, but probably not as a sexist double standard. There's plenty of sexism in the world, and on this show, but for once that's not really the issue. They already did the two-lead twist back in "The Bachelor" Season 6, so the people who called this twist sexist to pit women against each other should remember that they did it to men first. And everyone lived through it just fine. Plus, Bachelors get attacked as often as Bachelorettes, if not more often. Remember the disgust fans had with Ben Flajnik for skinny dipping with Courtney, or the general loathing for Juan Pablo Galavis, in part for his slut-shaming of Clare for doing whatever they did in the water together? There were already heavy hints of sex there, but this is just Kaitlyn spelling it out.

The men on this show usually end up hated more than the women. See Brad Womack's first season, then Jason Mesnick, Jake Pavelka, Ben, and Juan Pablo. Plenty of women get attacked too, and Kaitlyn may join them, but since we're getting a taste of this sex tease early on -- along with Kaitlyn's tearful defense that she made a mistake but she's not a bad person -- fans may be ready to defend her by the time it airs. The more time you give something, the more likely there will be a backlash to the backlash.

Top 10 Things We'll Miss About David Letterman

Posted:

David Letterman didn't invent the top 10 list, but it was his most durable comedy bit. Maybe we won't miss it after he airs his final episode of "The Late Show" on May 20, but there's so much we will miss.

After all, even if you're tired of hearing how Dave changed the face of comedy and set the template for all late-night hosts who've followed, it's nonetheless true. He managed to keep the plates spinning for 33 years, three years longer than his idol, Johnny Carson, and anyone who departs after that long is going to leave a gaping void. So, in Dave's honor, here are the Top 10 Things We'll Miss after he's gone.

Watch Amy Schumer Spoof 'Toddlers & Tiaras' and ... 'Benjamin Button'?

Posted:

Child pageants are easy spoof targets, since most of them -- especially the reality TV versions -- already seem like parodies of themselves. So maybe "Inside Amy Schumer" could've gone even further with its "Babies & Bustiers" sketch, which went for a "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo" style mocking of "Toddlers & Tiaras," with maybe a touch of "Dance Moms," and the intriguing twist of Amy's character suffering from "Benjamin Button's disease."

At least that's how her mother, played by the inimitable Jennifer Coolidge, put it. Amy's character actually has the opposite problem -- instead of aging in reverse like Brad Pitt's "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" character, she's a 6-year-old who happens to look like the grown-up Amy Schumer. This makes things awkward during a pageant when a wardrobe malfunction rips part of her top off.

The 5-minute video ends with "To Be Continued unfortunately..." so, if you watched the show, you got to see what happened to Amy after her accidental flashing. (Comedy Central now has the full episode online.) Meanwhile, Amy will also be featured this coming week (May 25) on "The Bachelorette." Speaking of shows that are spoof-worthy...

See Joker, Harley Quinn Photo Leaked From 'Suicide Squad' Set

Why so serious, Joker and Harley?

"Suicide Squad" is now in production, with a scheduled August 5, 2016 release. Director David Ayer previously posted photos of Jared Leto's much-mocked Joker and the main cast in character, but Ayer did not share the new visuals floating around the Internet. The fan-shot set image below shows Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn looking like a normal hot blonde , pointing a gun at Leto's Joker, who is sporting Joker's classic fluorescent green hair.

Here are two versions of the same shot, with captions sharing details on the scene and opinions on its relative awesomeness:

Ayer's previous cast photo -- which was posted on May 3, the last day he officially shared anything -- showed Margot Robbie's Harley in full makeup, and TheWrap noted that this may be a flashback scene to when Harley was still Dr. Harleen Quinzel.

How is this looking to you so far? You excited to see more or disappointed by what you've seen so far?

Best of Late Night TV: Bill Murray Shines As Letterman's Last Guest, Kimmel's Emotional Tribute, Jamie Foxx Sings

Posted:

If you're like us and value your sleep, you probably nodded off into your Ambien dreamland before the party started on post-prime time TV. Don't worry; we've got you covered. Here's the best of what happened last night on late night.

Bill Murray was David Letterman's very first guest -- 33 years ago -- and he was also his last, Tuesday night on "Late Show with David Letterman." Dave's final show is tomorrow but it'll be a celebration send-off; this is the last classic round of guest interviews. Bill arrived for his big moment by popping out of a giant "Goodbye Dave" cake. He hugged Dave, then visited the band and went into the audience to smear people with cake. In his cake-covered sit-down interview, Bill told Dave they all just want more from him. He got the audience to chant "More! More! More! More!" Then he went outside to face the crowd and gathered them in the streets of NYC to chant "All we are saying is more Worldwide Pants," which is Dave's production company. Gotta love Bill Murray. They also aired a highlight reel of Bill's best moments from 22 years on "Late Night": Bob Dylan also performed "The Night We Called It a Day": Jimmy Fallon offered his Letterman tribute on Monday night, and Tuesday it was Jimmy Kimmel's turn. Kimmel choked up very early in the tribute and cried talking about how he grew up watching Dave's show, describing what made it different from every other talk show. Jimmy also showed a photo from his 16th birthday party -- he had a Late Night cake and wore a Dave Letterman letterman's jacket and they showed his L8 Nite vanity plate for his first car. Kimmel choked up again when saying he wouldn't have his own show if executives and producers hadn't seen him perform on Dave's show. Kimmel said they'll be airing a repeat episode tomorrow night so as not to compete with Dave's final show, and he encouraged his fans to not even watch that. Just watch Dave.
George Clooney was a guest on "Jimmy Kimmel Live," talking about his many pranks over the years. Britt, who was eliminated as one of the new "Bachelorettes" last night, was also on JKL, talking about her disappointment. Jamie Foxx was on "The Tonight Show" and he got the audience chanting "America" -- the audience was filled with Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines. He mentioned running into Meredith Vieira, saying his beard is dyed, so when he hugged her, he gave her "half of a black man's beard." He turned that into a song and did a little dance. Jamie also played "Wheel of Musical Impressions" with Jimmy: Lisa Kudrow and Zach Woods were on "The Late Late Show with James Corden" and they talked about their childhood neuroses.
