Posted: 02 Oct 2015 08:00 PM PDT Drew Goddard cut his teeth in the entertainment industry as a writer for Joss Whedon on Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel. Since then he's stayed largely in the TV world, having worked on Alias, Lost, and Marvel's Daredevil series, but he continues to flex some increasingly big movie muscles. He wrote Cloverfield, he directed Cabin in the Woods (which he co-wrote with Whedon), and he was supposed to write and direct The Sinister Six before the Andrew Garfield-version of Spider-Man fell to the wayside. Goddard's latest movie credit is as the screenwriter of The Martian, which he adapted from Andy Weir's fantastic book about an astronaut who gets mistakenly left for dead on Mars. In fact, Goddard was the original director on the project but had to pass when The... Read More This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |
Captain Marvel Still Hasn't Been Cast, But Kevin Fiege Is Reading Your Suggestions Posted: 02 Oct 2015 07:00 PM PDT Have you heard who is playing Captain Marvel? No, you most certainly haven't, because the role hasn't been cast yet, and no actresses will be seriously considered for at least another year. But you've heard plenty of rumors and suggestions about who'll play the female superhero in her solo feature, which is due in theaters on November 2, 2018. And so have Kevin Feige and the rest of the team at Marvel Studios. They're paying attention to who we want for the role "We look at it!" Feige admitted this week about your fan list, and likely anything else they find online about who is thought to have been hired or who should be hired for the part and any comments in response. That doesn't mean they're just going to pick the popular... Read More This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |

Final 'SPECTRE' Trailer: James Bond Did Not Come Here to Die Posted: 02 Oct 2015 03:30 PM PDT SPECTRE doesn't hit theaters until November 6, 2015, but everyone is already trying to analyze what the future holds for James Bond beyond his latest movie. As it turns out, even star Daniel Craig isn't sure what's going to happen, though the actor does reveal that his contract includes one more film but that he's already questioning if he's capable of doing it. Filming on SPECTRE had to get shut down for three weeks due to a knee injury and now Craig understandably admits to The Daily Mail "It’s getting harder. But such is life. I’ll keep going as long as I’m physically able." But the actor also jokes that the movies are now getting easier to make because he's using more stunt doubles, something that probably has the... Comics on Film: Why DC's Movie Universe Should Take Hints From the 'Batman: Arkham' Games Posted: 02 Oct 2015 02:00 PM PDT With Warner Bros. and DC Comics gearing up to unleash their first superhero-based cinematic universe, fans from all over the spectrum of devotion to the publisher's characters have their ideas on how that world should be presented on the big screen. Some likely believe that the path to greatness lies solely in the comics and nowhere else, while others may want to see the comics provide a loose road map of sorts toward how the shared characters are depicted. Some will also likely want gritty realism, while others still want to see a return to a purer form of flamboyant fantasy. So, where does the promised land lie in regards to further translating the DC Comics Universe to film on an ongoing basis? Oddly enough, it may lie in one adaptation that seemed to take the best lessons... Read More This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |
