This is just the trailer for a full-length fan edit by Nathan Hartman that you can download here. Vintage Image of the Day: Charlie Chaplin and wife/co-star Paulette Goddard seated and laughing... Scary Movies to Show Your Kids Posted: 15 Oct 2015 09:30 PM PDT It’s not hard to imagine that the release of Goosebumps will inspire kids to seek out more fun horror films to watch. Rather than let them jump straight into Nightmare on Elm Street territory, try some of these beloved films instead. The Witches (1990) Not only does this bizarre movie feature evil witches that desperately want to kill children, it also features a protagonist who gets turned into a mouse. Both are surprisingly terrifying for kids and adults alike. Gremlins (1984) These little guys may be cute (in a ferociously ugly way), but they are not to be trusted. Their mischievous antics stop just short of crossing the line into full-on horror territory. Little Monsters (1989) To a kid, what’s more horrifying than a... The Last Horror Blog: 'Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse,' '#Horror,' 'Mexico Barbaro' and More Posted: 15 Oct 2015 08:00 PM PDT Scouts take on zombie strippers in new Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse clip – I don’t recall there being a badge for “visiting a strip club” from my days in the Boy Scouts, but that’s what two scouts are up to in this new red band clip for the upcoming horror comedy Scouts Guide to the Apocalypse. Here’s the plot breakdown: Three Scouts and lifelong friedns join forces with one bad-ass cocktail waitress to become the world’s most unlikely team of heroes. When their peaceful town is ravaged by a zombie invasion, they’ll fight for the badge of a lifetime and put their scouting skills to the test to save mankind from the undead. The clip is NSFW. 'Lockout' Has Been Officially Ruled a Ripoff of 'Escape from New York' Posted: 15 Oct 2015 06:30 PM PDT When the Luc Besson-produced sci-fi action movie Lockout arrived three years ago, many found it to be a harmless guilty pleasure. We fondly renamed it "Space Prison" and ignored its similarities to the 1981 John Carpenter cult classic Escape from New York as we do with any Hollywood product that simply seems derivative of other Hollywood product. Well, Carpenter didn't see the movie as a harmless pleasure of any kind. In fact, he sued the makers of Lockout for plagiarism. And he won. A French court has sided with the American filmmaker over Besson, his co-writers Stephen St. Leger and James Mather and his production company, EuropaCorp. Here is the part of the ruling confirming the plagiarism, via The Playlist: both presented... Read More This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |
'The Boy' Trailer Looks To Drop the Mic On Creepy Doll Movies Posted: 15 Oct 2015 05:00 PM PDT Even in the best of lighting conditions and the happiest of circumstances, dolls are still pretty dang creepy. Cast a few shadows on them, change the music, maybe throw some lightning outside the window and they can become downright terrifying. That's why creepy dolls are such a go-to in horror movies. You barely have to do anything to make them scary. But that's also why creepy dolls are a bit played out. They're such a casual part of horror movies that while people may still react to a doll, it doesn't really leave much of an impact. You've got to do something super weird to make a doll stand out in a horror movie these days, and it looks like the makers of The Boy have figured that out. Here's the gist: A young woman (Lauren Cohan) lands a cushy job... Read More This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |
Behold! The Thor Hammer Only One Man Can Pick Up Posted: 15 Oct 2015 03:00 PM PDT One of the best scenes in Avengers: Age of Ultron -- and honestly it might even be the film's best scene -- involves all of our favorite heroes just chillin' out at Stark's crib, throwing a few back in their street clothes and cracking jokes about each others' powers, specifically Thor. In the scene, everyone tries to lift up Thor's hammer, though they fail because only Thor can lift Thor's hammer. Well YouTuber Allen Pan wanted to bring this scene into the real world, and set out to craft a hammer that could only be picked up by one person. Using powerful magnets and fingerprint technology, Pan managed to actually create a hammer that only he can lift... assuming the conditions are right and it's on a metal surface. Watch the video (via Slashfilm... Read More This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |
Superhero TV: Two 'X-Men' Shows Are On The Way Posted: 15 Oct 2015 01:30 PM PDT The upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse will conclude a trilogy of stories when it hits theaters on May 27, 2016, but that certainly won't spell the end of the superpowered mutant series. Spinoff movies Deadpool and Gambit are already on the release schedule, with a final Wolverine movie still to come, and plans are underfoot to start a new spinoff franchise with The New Mutants. But Marvel and Fox are also looking to expand the X-Men family to television, and now comes word from Vulture that Legion has received an order for a pilot episode from FX Networks (owned by Fox). The potential series would revolve around David Haller. In the comics, he's a son of Professor X (aka Charles Xavier, portrayed by James McAvoy in X-Men: Apocalypse) and suffers from a severe mental illness... Movie News: 'Die Hard' Prequel (and Sequel) Planned; Marvel's 'Black Panther' Seeks 'Creed' Director Posted: 15 Oct 2015 12:03 PM PDT Die Hard: The sixth installment in the venerable Die Hard series is under development, with plans to make it a prequel -- and a sequel. The idea is to set the bulk of the movie in 1979, when John McClane was a young police officer in New York City, with Bruce Willis showing up in the present day to bookend the story. Director Len Wiseman (Live Free or Die Hard) and producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura are reportedly in the midst of talks to return. [Deadline] Black Panther: Ryan Coogler (Fruitvale Station, the upcoming Creed) is under consideration by Marvel to direct Black Panther. Chadwick Boseman is already set to star as T'Challa, ruler of the fictional country of Wakanda. Earlier this year, Ava DuVernay (Selma) discussed the job with Marvel before deciding to...
