Posted: 23 Mar 2016 09:30 PM PDT For comic book fans, Batman is the hero we need and deserve on the big screen. Well, minus the Schumacher years. From Michael Keaton to Christian Bale, the Dark Knight has been avenging his parents and punching goons for almost 50 years. Ben Affleck is the latest actor to put on the cape, in the highly-anticipated “Batman v Superman.” In honor of the World’s Finest finally teaming up in their own blockbuster, we’ve ranked ever one of Batman’s film to get a theatrical release – both live-action and animated. 9. Batman & Robin (1997) “Grab the gem. Kill the heroes!” That that’s one of the many “so-bad-they’re-really-not-good” lines to come out of Mr. Freeze’s mouth in this franchise... Intense First 'Deepwater Horizon' Trailer Shows the Right Way to Tease a Movie Posted: 23 Mar 2016 08:30 PM PDT Earlier today we got our first look at some images from Deepwater Horizon, a new movie based on the 2014 disaster that saw the destruction of an oil rig in the Gulf of Mexico and the ongoing environmental catastrophe caused by millions of gallons of oil spewing into the ocean. Summit Entertainment wasted no time in following up those images with a trailer for the movie and wow. Seriously, wow. This is a great, great teaser trailer. Peter Berg may not be everyone's favorite filmmaker. Movies like Battleship make him a bit of an easy target. But Berg is at his absolute best when he's telling stories about everyday Americans just trying to get on with their lives, and Deepwater Horizon almost looks like what would happen if Friday Night Lights suddenly turned into a... Laurence Fishburne Explains How 'The Matrix' Already Had Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman in it Posted: 23 Mar 2016 07:24 PM PDT In advance of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice hitting theaters, we sent our intrepid Superman fan Jeffrey Taylor to chat with some of the ensemble cast, including Laurence Fishburne, Holly Hunter and Diane Lane. As Perry White, Clark Kent and Lois Lane's boss at The Daily Planet, Laurence Fishburne is strong, fairly level-headed and a bit of a pushover when it comes to his favorite journalists not completing the assignments he gave them. He's an old-schooler, and in Batman v Superman you can tell the disintegrating market for physical newspapers is beginning to take a toll on him (and his budget). Fishburne was a big comics fan growing up -- revealing to us that he would steal comics from the local candy store when he was six years old because he... Shane Black Says His 'Predator' Sequel Will Be a Giant Blockbuster Like 'Iron Man 3' Posted: 23 Mar 2016 06:00 PM PDT The original Predator might be remembered as a major action movie from the '80s, but it wasn't really that big. Its cost was only $15 million and it only earned $60 million ($133 million in today's dollars), placing it outside the top 10 highest-grossing movies of 1987, below such forgotten films as The Secret of My Success and Stakeout, despite its having the second-best opening weekend of the year. And it wasn't very grand in terms of its scope, either, being mainly a cat-and-mouse story in a single jungle setting. The four follow-ups, including two sequels and two crossovers with the Alien franchise, also weren't huge movies. But the next time we see one of those dreadlocked extraterrestrial hunters, in the currently titled The Predator, it's going... Here's Your First Look at Scenes That You Didn't See in 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' Posted: 23 Mar 2016 04:30 PM PDT As Star Wars: The Force Awakens gets set to debut on digital HD via FandangoNOW on April 1, followed by DVD/Blu-ray on April 5, Disney has released a sneak peek at the seven deleted scenes (six on Blu-ray, one on digital) that fans will be able to devour upon release. These images don't represent all of the scenes, but they do give us a taste of what to expect, courtesy of Entertainment Weekly. Here are the seven deleted scenes with a brief description of what each includes: Finn And The Villager This scene plays like an extension of Finn's disillusionment regarding the early fight as a stormtrooper on Jakku. While in a blood-spattered daze, he has a revealing confrontation with a Jakku villager. Jakku Message (image not from a deleted... 'Don't Breathe' Stars Talk About Needing a "Safe" Word with Stephen Lang Posted: 23 Mar 2016 03:00 PM PDT [Dylan Minnette in Goosebumps] Starring in a horror movie is a rite of passage for young actors, but once they've made a few they tend to step away from the genre for a while lest they become typecast. You might think that would be the case for the young stars of Fede Alvarez's new horror movie, Don't Breathe. Jane Levy made a big splash in the horror world when she starred in Evil Dead. Dylan Minnette cut some great horror teeth in Let Me In. Daniel Zovatto's had leading spots in both Beneath and It Follows. It's a testament, then, to what Alvarez was planning for Don't Breathe that the trio all eagerly signed up for the movie despite already having checked some major horror movie boxes off of their filmographies. We spoke to Minette and Zovatto... Read More This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |
See Mark Wahlberg in Revealing New 'Deepwater Horizon' Images Posted: 23 Mar 2016 01:30 PM PDT Actor turned director Peter Berg has proven to have a sure hand when it comes to turning true stories into compelling big-screen experiences. Friday Night Lights, his third directorial effort, dramatized the lives of a real-life high school football team in Texas to great effect, while the more recent Lone Survivor kept tensions high in relating the true-life account of a small military team and their ill-fated mission in Afghanistan. The latter movie displayed a ferocious spirit, even when dealing with tragic events. Mark Wahlberg starred in Lone Survivor and it's evident that he and Berg worked well together, both in front of and behind the scenes. In August 2014, the ever-busy Wahlberg agreed to star in Deepwater Horizon as a member of an oil rig crew that suffered a... Kitsch wrote the original screenplay and will make his directorial debut. Peter Berg, who worked with Kitsch on the Friday Night Lights TV series and also the big-budget Battleship, as well as Lone Survivor, will serve as one of the producers.
