Here are a bunch of little bites to satisfy your hunger for movie culture:   Trailer Parody of the Day: What if Spider-Man's addition to the MCU is as brief as his intro in the Captain America: Civil War trailer? This recut gives the hero an unfortunate demise (via Geek Tyrant):   Fan Theory of the Day: One week ahead of the release of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, The Film Theorists scientifically explains how the Caped Crusader could win against the Man of Steel:   Reapplied Theme Song of the Day: This isn't a new video but it is new to us, and it's great. Apparently Randy Newman wrote the best theme song for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice 21 years too early, for the original Toy Story. Proof (via Geek...

Watch Ben Affleck Describe How Batman Has Evolved in 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice'

Posted: 18 Mar 2016 09:00 PM PDT

Aside from being one of the most iconic superheroes in comic mythology, he is also one of the most complex. In Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, we get to see the evolution of Batman/Bruce Wayne into an "older, darker and more world-weary" character, as he is described by Batman himself, Ben Affleck, in this Fandango Movieclips exclusive featurette. Henry Cavill, who plays Superman in the film, describes his masked foe as "brutal and unforgiving." We see this when Batman asks Superman, "Do you bleed?" And then answers his own question with the menacing, "You will."  Don't miss the epic battle between heroes when Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice hits theaters March 25.

Here's What May Happen to Iron Man After 'Avengers: Infinity War - Part 1'

Posted: 18 Mar 2016 07:00 PM PDT

Many superhero characters are recast on a regular basis, and it's not that big of a deal. Just look at how many incarnations of Superman and Batman we've seen in the last 30 years leading up to next week's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice showdown. But others are not going to have their actors swapped out so easily. Iron Man is one such character, and in a recent interview with Forbes (via /Film), Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War directors Anthony and Joe Russo addressed what is likely to happen when Robert Downey Jr. is done playing the hero he made famous. Here are the answers to all your questions about that: Is Robert Downey Jr. doing a fourth Iron Man movie? The actor recently told USA Today he doesn't think it's in the...

'Pee-wee's Big Holiday' Is Comfort Food for Old School Fans

Posted: 18 Mar 2016 06:30 PM PDT

I didn’t see Pee-wee’s Big Adventure theatrically, but, oh boy, did I ever want to. I knew him from his numerous appearances across talk shows and such, before the Saturday morning classic Pee-wee’s Playhouse but after the 1981 HBO special that was so randy that my Mom made me leave the room (so she could finish it herself and laugh a lot). Instead of a theatrical viewing, I had my older cousin describe every scene in excruciating detail over the phone, because 11 year old me did not care a whit about spoilers. It sounded like the greatest movie ever made. And it pretty much is. I could give that title to something more serious and respected, but the reality is I’ve seen Pee-wee’s Big Adventure literally hundreds of times more than I’ve...

Comics on Film: The Punisher Returns Today - Here's Where He's Been Before

Posted: 18 Mar 2016 05:00 PM PDT

While we still have seven more days to go until the release of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, today marks the debut of another rebirth live-action comic rebirth. Having been to the big screen in three films, Frank Castle, aka the Punisher, was reacquired by Marvel Studios after Lionsgate chose not to follow up their 2008 offering directed by Lexi Alexander. Starting today, you can see actor Jon Bernthal (The Walking Dead, Fury) become the latest to embody Marvel's coldhearted vigilante over the course of Netflix series Daredevil's second season. The Punisher is one of Marvel's most interesting characters. He makes enemies of all the right people, but also falls outside the graces of the Marvel universe's...

Blake Lively, a Tiny Rock and a Big, Big Shark Star In First 'The Shallows' Trailer

Posted: 18 Mar 2016 03:00 PM PDT

Survival horror movies are a great genre that no one ever seems to really talk about. Zombies and home invasions and haunted houses tend to get all of the genre accolades, but you don't need all of that supernatural stuff to make an intense, memorable movie. Sometimes all you need is a person trapped somewhere where the odds of survival are very, very low. In the case of The Shallows, the newest from House of Wax and Non-Stop director Jaume Collet-Serra, those odds aren't just low, they look downright impossible. Like, seriously, how in the hell is Blake Lively supposed to survive the shark in this movie? For reals, she's going to die, right? This movie is just 90 minutes of Blake Lively getting tortured and eaten by a shark, right? This doesn't look like...
