Disney's 'Frozen' as a Horror Movie Is Hilariously Chilling (VIDEO) Posted: "Do you want to build a snowman?" In "Frozen," it's a heartwarming line sung by a loving sister. In "Frozen" as a horror movie, it's a sinister threat. We love these genre-flipping takes on movies, but this one might just take the icy cake. Instead of being the triumphant tale of two sisters' love, "Frozen" becomes a dark, chilling story about Elsa's powers running rampant and destroying her family and country. An ominous soundtrack and some clever cuts turn "Frozen" into something that could terrify even adults. No, we do NOT want to build a snowman! The Latest 'Star Wars: Episode VII' Says Han Solo Is a 'Co-Lead' Posted: Han Solo has every right to feel cocky -- he's reportedly a major part of "Star Wars: Episode VII." If details about the hotly-anticipated sequel are gold, then Entertainment Weekly broke into Fort Knox. In a huge story in this week's edition of the magazine, sources spill all sorts of secrets about the J.J. Abrams-directed project. Via Jedi News, those tidbits include: - Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, and Carrie Fisher all signed on for "Episode VII" before Disney bought Lucasfilm in 2012. - All three have "significant" roles. - Abrams and screenwriter Lawrence Kasdan made significant changes to Michael Arndt's initial script, which delayed casting. - Several roles still have to be filled, including a major female lead. - Han Solo is considered a co-lead with three of the younger actors. Who are those three? John Boyega is probably one, and Daisy Ridley (the only female member of the recently announced cast so far) likely another. As for what Han's up to in the movie, perhaps he's training young Jedi pilots. From defying authority figures to being one himself? The young Han Solo would never believe it. NBC Cancels 'Community' and 'Revolution' Posted: The dream of six seasons and a movie is over for "Community" fans. NBC canceled the low-rated cult favorite comedy after five seasons. The network also pulled the plug on post-apocalyptic drama "Revolution," which once looked like a promising hit for NBC but has steadily declined in the ratings over its two seasons. That "Community" even made it to a fifth season was a miracle. The quirky comedy struggled to find viewers for its entire existence, and things looked really bleak after NBC replaced creator Dan Harmon as showrunner after season 3. He ended up coming back, but he wasn't able to stop the bleeding. As for "Revolution," though it debuted good numbers, that was mostly due to airing after "The Voice." Once it moved to another night, "Revolution's" ratings tumbled. NBC is moving forward with new shows. The Peacock picked up "Constantine," an adaptation of the DC Comics franchise, as well as "Mysteries of Laura," a police drama starring Debra Messing. The network also renewed two bubble shows, "Hannibal" and "About a Boy." Photo by David Livingston/Getty Images for NBCUniversal This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |
'Gaslight': 7 Everlasting Legacies of the Ingrid Bergman Classic Posted: 1. The term "gaslight." The Ingrid Bergman thriller "Gaslight" -- released 70 years ago this week, on May 4, 1944, wasn't the original use of the title. There was Patrick Hamilton's 1938 play "Gas Light," retitled "Angel Street" when it came to Broadway a couple years later. And there was a British film version in 1939, starring Anton Walbrook (later the cruel impresario in "The Red Shoes") and Diana Wynyard. Still, the glossy 1944 MGM version remains the best-known telling of the tale, with the title an apparent reference to the flickering Victorian lamps that are part of Gregory's (Charles Boyer) scheme to make wife Paula (Bergman) think she's seeing things that aren't there, thus deliberately undermining her sanity in order to have her institutionalized so that he'll be free to ransack the ancestral home to find the missing family jewels. This version of Hamilton's tale was so popular that it made the word "gaslight"into a verb, a popular shorthand way to describe anyone's attempt to make another person doubt her sanity by presenting falsehood as reality. 2. Ingrid Bergman's first Oscar. Bergman had been nominated before, for 1943's "For Whom the Bell Tolls." The "Gaslight" role provided her first Oscar victory, however, perhaps because it was such a stretch. Few, including Bergman herself, believed that the tall, robust actress could convincingly play a frail, timid, haunted woman. But then, that's why she was right for the part, director George Cukor had insisted to her -- her transformation from her usual glowing self would be all the more dramatic and harrowing. Bergman then dove into the part with proto-Method relish, even spending time at a mental hospital to study the behavioral tics of women who'd had nervous breakdowns. The result was so convincing that Bergman earned an upset victory over Barbara Stanwyck, the Oscar favorite that year for her iconic femme fatale role in "Double Indemnity." Even Stanwyck couldn't begrudge Bergman the prize, declaring that her "favorite actress won it and has earned it." Bergman would go on to win twice more over the next 30 years, becoming one of only a handful of stars in Hollywood history to claim three acting Oscars. 3. Angela Lansbury's movie career. One of the more difficult parts to cast was that of Nancy, the insolent young housemaid. Co-screenwriter John Van Druten thought of English actress Moyna MacGill, a World War II refugee who'd emigrated to Hollywood with her three children. Actually, he was thinking of MacGill's daughter, who was a teenager working at a Los Angeles department store. And so Angela Lansbury, then 17 and without any acting experience, landed her first film role. She was so young that the scene where she defies her mistress by lighting a cigarette had to be pushed back to late in the shoot because the social worker assigned to monitor her on the set wouldn't let Lansbury light a cigarette until she turned 18. For that debut performance, Lansbury earned an Oscar nomination and quickly became a star, immediately landing roles in "The Picture of Dorian Gray" and "National Velvet." Since then, Lansbury has, of course, gone on to worldwide fame for her versatility and longevity. Her TV career, highlighted by the 12 seasons she played sleuth Jessica Fletcher on "Murder, She Wrote," earned her 18 Emmy nominations. She won five Tonys on Broadway, where she continues to make regular appearances well into her 80s. And in film, she's been nominated for three Oscars; she finally won an Honorary Oscar last November in recognition of her seven-decade movie career, which includes such highlights as "The Manchurian Candidate," "Bedknobs and Broomsticks," "Beauty and the Beast," and "Nanny McPhee." 4. John Van Druten's movie career. Van Druten had been a successful playwright in England. That success continued on Broadway after he moved to America in 1940. "Gaslight" was one of his first screenplays. Afterward, he continued to find success in Hollywood for nearly 40 years (well beyond his death in 1957), as filmmakers continued to adapt his plays, including "I Remember Mama" (1948), "I Am a Camera" (1955), "Bell Book and Candle" (1958), "Cabaret" (1972, another adaptation of "I Am a Camera"), and "Rich and Famous" (1981, based on his play "Old Acquaintance" and the last movie directed by "Gaslight" helmer George Cukor). 5. Charles Boyer's image. The French émigré was known for playing suave European lovers in such movies as "Algiers" and "Love Affair." (So typecast was he that his phrasing and mannerisms were parodied by Mel Blanc in his cartoon performances as amorous French skunk Pepe Le Pew.) But Boyer twisted that stereotype to his advantage as the sinister husband in "Gaslight," and, like Bergman, proved he had more dramatic range than he'd been given credit for. As the slightly seedy Gregory, he also gave the first inkling of showing off his middle-aged paunch and receding hairline. He was rewarded with an Oscar nomination for Best Actor. Afterward, he got to play more varied parts in such films as "A Woman's Vengeance" (1948), "Arch of Triumph" (1948, a reunion with Bergman), "The Earrings of Madame De..." (1953), "The Buccaneer" (1958), "Fanny" (1961), and "Barefoot in the Park" (1967). 6. George Cukor's reputation. Cukor was (and still is) known as one of Hollywood's most sensitve directors of actresses. He was also known mostly for nimble, female-driven comedies, including "Dinner at Eight" (1933), "Holiday" (1938), "The Women" (1939) and "The Philadelphia Story" (1940). He seemed an unlikely choice for a psychological thriller as dark and atmospheric as "Gaslight," but Cukor pulled it off, suppressing his usual stylistic touches out of fidelity to the text and the claustrophobic setting. (Of course, he did excellent work with the actresses, including Bergman, Lansbury, and Dame May Whitty as the nosy neighbor.) For the rest of his career, Cukor would balance his trademark lighter films with moody melodramas, including "A Double Life" (1948), "A Star Is Born" (1954), and "Wild Is the Wind" (1957). Twenty years after "Gaslight," he recreated turn-of-the-century London once more in "My Fair Lady" (1964) and finally won his first directing Oscar after five nominations. 7. The imperiled-wife plot. "Gaslight" wasn't the first movie to use the "Am I crazy or is my husband out to get me?" plot. Alfred Hitchcock had already done a couple of variations on the gothic haunted-wife-and-chilly-husband tale in "Rebecca" (1940) and "Suspicion" (1941). Still, "Gaslight" was one of the most effective and popular versions of the storyline, and it's credited with influencing many similar movies that followed, including Katharine Hepburn's "Undercurrent" (1946), Barbara Stanwyck's "Sorry, Wrong Number" (1948), Elizabeth Taylor's "Conspirator" (1949), Bette Davis, "Hush... Hush, Sweet Charlotte" (1964, co-starring "Gaslight" supporting actor Joseph Cotten), Jodie Foster's "Flightplan" (2005), and every Lifetime Channel cable movie ever. 'Transformers: Age of Extinction' Adds John Goodman and Ken Watanabe to the Mix Posted: Sure, Michael Bay's massively scaled "Transformers: Age of Extinction" might be just a little over a month away from premiering all over the world, but apparently that doesn't mean that he can't still cast people in pivotal roles. Bay announced (via his sleek personal website) that John Goodman and Ken Watanabe will join the voice casting, playing Hound and Drift, respectively, while Peter Cullen and Frank Welker will return to the franchise (Cullen is, once again, Optimus Prime, while Welker will essay a new character, Galvatron). "I am pleased to welcome two gifted and versatile actors, John Goodman and Ken Watanabe, to the world of Transformers," Bay announced in a statement on the site. "And to reteam with Peter and Frank, who have brought Transformers characters alive from the beginning. I've been fortunate to work with some of the best voice talent in the business, and together we will introduce several exciting new robots to fans of the franchise around the world." Other voice actors mentioned in the announcement include John DiMaggio (who has voiced everything from Bender on "Futurama" to Jake on "Adventure Time"), Mark Ryan, Robert Foxworth, and Reno Wilson. Goodman has a storied past as a voice performer, having starred in Steven Spielberg's "We're Back: A Dinosaur's Story," Disney Feature Animation's "The Emperor's New Groove," "The Princess and the Frog" and "The Jungle Book 2" (he voiced Baloo in the sequel), DreamWorks Animation's "Bee Movie," Laika's "ParaNorman" and, most memorably, in a pair of Pixar classics -- "Monsters Inc." and last year's delightful "Monsters University." The two new cast members only intensify our excitement for the new "Transformers" sequel, which serves as a kind of in-franchise reboot, jettisoning much of the three previous films in favor of a new storyline and characters that still, somehow, picks up from where things left off. Mark Wahlberg steps in for Shia LeBeouf, playing an inventor/mechanic who accidentally discovers a dormant Autobot and, well, nobody knows much else about the plot although clearly Dinobots are a big part of the action, if the Super Bowl commercial and the giant movie theater standee I saw are any indication. "Transformers: Age of Extinction" is out on June 27th. This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |
ABC Renews Marvel's 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' and Orders 'Agent Carter' Series Posted: Listen, it's too early to get all worked up about the fall television schedule; that requires delicate scheduling and the use of color-coded note cards. Instead, only brief flashes of excitement or consternation should be allowed. That will keep you nice and even, and let you ride out the rest of the summer on a good, buzzy cocktail of emotions, mainly made up of wondering whether or not the new "24" miniseries is living up to your expectations and hoping for the best when it comes to HBO's "The Leftovers." Well, ABC made an announcement that should pique your television-loving interest, with new info on two Marvel-related small screen properties (via Coming Soon). Today the Disney-owned ABC announced that it very much intends on staying in the Marvel game: not only will the highly rated if somewhat creatively tepid "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." be back for a second season, but (and this is way more exciting) the network also ordered a full season of "Agent Carter," a show based around Hayley Atwell's character from the "Captain America" movies. This is a super cool announcement for a number of reasons: first and foremost, she is a really amazing character and it will be nice to see a Marvel property anchored by a female hero (especially one that cannot fly or shoot laser beams out of her eyes). Secondly, the source material (a One Shot short film on the "Iron Man 3" Blu-ray) is totally great, and sets the scene well for the eventual series: it too will take place in 1946, during S.H.I.E.L.D.'s infancy (here it's referred to as the SSR, Strategic Scientific Reserve), while Agent Carter deals with the loss of her love Captain America and the threat of evil from around the world. Also exciting are who ABC has tasked with bringing the series to life: the pilot will be written by Tara Butters and Michele Fazekas (yes, they too are also women!), who, shockingly, are also from Joss Whedon's inner circle, having worked on his beloved and damnably short-lived "Dollhouse" series on Fox. Keep in mind that DC Comics is finally getting into the TV game this season too, with four new series (Fox's "Gotham," NBC's "Constantine," and The CW's "iZombie" and "The Flash") joining "Arrow" in prime time, and the five Netflix series Marvel is planning, with tentative plans to launch next year. In short: very soon TV is going to be just as overstuffed with guys in capes as the multiplexes are. This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |
Seth Rogen Facts: 23 Things You (Probably) Don't Know About the 'Neighbors' Star Posted: Seth Rogen has had his fingerprints all over comedy ever since emerging on the scene as a teenager. Taken under Judd Apatow's wing early in his career following "Freaks and Geeks," Rogen has had memorable supporting turns in "Undeclared" and "The 40-Year-Old Virgin" -- in addition to success as a writer -- before breaking out in 2007's smash hit "Knocked Up." Since then, the only way you could've missed him is if you've been living under a rock. From his early collaborations with Sacha Baron Cohen to his surprising connection to "The Simpsons," here are 23 things you probably don't know about Seth Rogen. 1. Rogen was born in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada in 1982 to Sandy Belogus, a social worker, and Mark Rogen, who works for non-profit organizations. 2. His parents met in Israel, and he has described them as "radical Jewish socialists" at least "in American terms." 3. It's not surprising, then, that Rogen attended a Jewish elementary school and a Jewish summer camp, Camp Miriam, where he was known for his stand-up comedy. 4. When discussing his career, Rogen said, "As soon as I realized you could be funny as a job, that was the job I wanted." 5. With that, the comedian started taking a comedy workshop when he was 12 years old and he hasn't looked back. 6. He began doing stand-up shortly after the workshops, however, his bulky frame and deep voice made people believe the teenager was actually in his 20s! 7. At age 13, Rogen and his childhood friend, Evan Goldberg, began writing the script for the high school classic "Superbad" (2007) and polished the script through the next few years, basing the story on their teenage experiences. 8. When "American Pie" came to theaters in 1999, the writing duo was worried that the raunchy comedy beat them to the punch, but Rogen ultimately felt the characters in "Superbad" had more honest interactions. 9. Goldberg and Rogen are still writing and producing partners today, and recently co-directed their first feature "This Is the End" (2013). 10. They were even both staff writers for Sacha Baron Cohen's second season of "Da Ali G Show" in 2004, and were subsequently nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award nomination. 11. In 2008, Rogen and Goldberg wrote an episode of "The Simpsons," which opened the long-running animated show's 21st season. The episode was titled "Homer the Whopper." 12. Rogen's acting debut was in Judd Apatow's cult hit series "Freaks and Geeks" (1999), where he played Ken Miller. 13. It was only the actor's second audition ever! 14. While the show was cancelled after only one season, Apatow recognized Rogen's talent and would go to bat for him in the future. 15. For his college-themed sitcom "Undeclared" (2001), Apatow turned to Rogen for the lead role. Unfortunately, the network didn't think he was leading man material, but Apatow was able to cast the actor in a supporting role. 16. After parts in "Anchorman" and "The 40-Year-Old Virgin," Rogen finally got his big break in the smash hit "Knocked Up" (2007) opposite Katherine Heigl, Paul Rudd, and Leslie Mann. All the films were produced by Apatow. 17. Rogen has hosted "Saturday Night Live" three times, in 2007, 2009, and most recently in April 2014. 18. James Franco made a collection of Seth Rogen paintings of the comic in the nude. Really. (NSFW) 19. Franco and Rogen also parodied the memorable Kanye West "Bound 2" music video. The parody was titled "Bound 3" with Rogen assuming the Kim Kardashian role, complete with the topless moments. 20. The pair has appeared together in the box office and commercial hits "Pineapple Express" (2008) and "This Is the End" (2013), and of course, "Freaks and Geeks." 21. Rogen has acknowledged that getting "This Is the End" produced was surprisingly tough because the studios were not keen on letting a host of celebrities make fun of themselves and also die under horrible circumstance. 22. Franco and Rogen are next set to star in "The Interview," which finds their characters landing an exclusive interview with Kim Jong-Un, dictator of North Korea, only to have the CIA ask them to assassinate the dictator. 23. Seth Rogen also hates Justin Bieber. This is why. [Sources: Wikipedia, IMDb] Article photo courtesy of Getty This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |
Why Netflix's Price Increase Won't Cost You... For Now Posted: Today Netflix officially raised the price of its streaming service by a whole dollar, bringing the price up to $8.99 (instead of $7.99), via The Wrap. In a statement to customers, Neflix said, "In order to continue adding more movies and TV shows, we are increasing our price from $7.99 to $8.99 for new customers. As a thank you for being a member of Netflix already, we guarantee that your streaming plan and price will not change for two years." So... if you sign up after today, there's a chance that they could hike the rate in the next two years? Yikes. The decision comes right before the summer start dates for two insanely popular Netflix original series: "Orange Is the New Black" and "Hemlock Grove," both returning for their sophomore seasons this year, and comes ahead of a whole bumper crop of intriguing properties set to arrive in 2015, including a gaggle of new Marvel series and the third (and presumably last) season of the Kevin Spacey-led political thriller "House of Cards." So, something tells me you'll get your dollar's worth, people-who-are-actually-paying. It is also worth noting (as The Wrap did) that the announcement comes during the height of the debate over net neutrality. How the two will affect each other remains to be seen. Watch the Amazing New 'Snowpiercer' Red Band Trailer at Your Own Peril (VIDEO) Posted: Well, it's finally here -- a U.S. trailer for Bong Joon-ho's post-apocalyptic science-fiction epic "Snowpiercer," starring Chris Evans, Octavia Spencer, Tilda Swinton, Jamie Bell and John Hurt, which the Weinstein Company is finally debuting in America on June 27, almost a year after the film premiered overseas. And, truth be told, the trailer is amazing -- it's fully of wonderfully rendered, deeply gorgeous imagery and hints at the kind of unexpected character beats you can expect from the movie, which is set aboard a train that carries the remnants of humanity following the formation of a new ice age. Sure, you can watch it below, but I kind of urge you not to. The thing about "Snowpiercer" is that it's a certifiable, next level genre masterpiece, a visionary work of science fiction that is on par with classics like "2001: A Space Odyssey" and "Blade Runner." To spoil any of that would be a crime and, so far, my record is clean. This is a movie that unfolds before you; you literally watch it blossom. The things that you see in this movie, the moments that are revealed as the characters progress, are both profound and profoundly entertaining. More than once you'll probably cover your mouth and gasp as some new facet of this fascinating universe is uncovered. And quite frankly, this trailer gives away too many of those moments (it also tips its hand to cast members that are better left obscured until they appear on screen). So, to reiterate: "Snowpiercer" is amazing. It's easily one of the best films of the year, and packs more bang for your buck than most of the Hollywood-certified spectacles that are going to be unleashed, every weekend, until autumn. It's funny, it's scary, it's exciting, it's got wonderful characters and takes place in a vividly imagined, wholly engrossing world. And if you know all this then you probably don't need to watch the trailer. But if you still do, well, it's available below. "Snowpiercer" comes out June 27th. I plan on seeing it a hundred more times. Remember, the trailer below is NSFW, but it's worth it. Oh, and watch more red band trailers here. Posted: NEW YORK (AP) - Netflix is making a push into documentaries, with the subscription service announcing deals on Thursday to premiere four new films in the next few months. Netflix has always made non-fiction films available to subscribers, but until recently they have been projects initially made for theatrical release or on television networks. Netflix said it now wants filmmakers to make their work specifically for the service, or use Netflix to offer the first wide distribution. The first of the four new films to be released will be "Battered Bastards of Baseball," about a defunct minor league baseball team. It will premiere on Netflix on July 11. "Mission Blue," a documentary about marine biologist Sylvia Earle and her campaign to create a network of protected marine sanctuaries, is set for Aug. 15. Later this year the service will premiere "E-Team," a film about human rights workers from the makers of the Oscar-winning documentary "Born Into Brothels," and "Print the Legend," about 3-D printing. Lisa Nishimura, head of Netflix's documentary unit, said the service is intentionally trying to present films on a wide variety of topics. Its selling point to filmmakers is that Netflix will make the documentaries available on the service for a lengthy period of time. TV networks and theatrical releases can offer a bigger burst of attention, but the films are generally only available for a short period. The U.S. Air Force Has a Hilarious Plan for a Real Godzilla Attack (VIDEO) Posted: In preparation for the release of the "Godzilla" reboot this summer, the Smithsonian's Air & Space magazine wondered: How would the U.S. military respond to a real-life attack by the lizard monster? It turns out that at least a couple members of the U.S. Air Force have thought about just such a scenario, though how serious they are about the execution of their defense plans is up for debate. Air & Space asked Senior Airman Mark Hermann and Master Sgt. Jason Edwards, stationed at Kadena Air Base in Okinawa, Japan, for their thoughts on a hypothetical Godzilla invasion, and both had some pretty inspired responses. Hermann took the bit slightly more seriously than Edwards, speculating that the base would need all its F-15 planes and at least 600 rounds of ammunition per person to take down the beast. Godzilla's atomic breath would be a concern for troops, Hermann said, but if the monster decided to attack from underwater, "the Navy can deal with it." Edwards offered a more offbeat approach to defeating Godzilla, noting that the monster "would be expecting an aerial attack." "To catch him off-guard, I think we would need 4,000 Segways and slingshots," Edwards said. Other personnel the master sergeant suggested would come in handy for a fight with Godzilla included Chuck Norris ("The obvious one," Edwards noted), the Power Rangers, George W. Bush, and the Incredible Hulk. "The CG one, not the Lou Ferrigno one," Edwards clarified. So there you go. The Air Force has us covered, America. We can sleep easy when "Godzilla" invades theaters on May 16. [via TheWrap] This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |
Jennifer Lawrence Voted for Lupita Nyong'o to Win the Oscar Posted: Jennifer Lawrence has already proven that's she got a good head on her shoulders, if her recent comments about understanding some of the backlash against her are any indication. But the actress has also revealed herself to have a good heart, too, thanks to a selfless act involving her fellow Oscar-winning actress, Lupita Nyong'o. In an interview with Marie Claire, Lawrence said that in the 2014 Oscar race pitting her against fellow Best Supporting Actress nominee (and eventual winner) Lupita Nyong'o, the Academy member and "American Hustle" star knew for whom she would cast her vote. "I was very happy I voted for Lupita," Lawrence told Marie Claire of the "12 Years a Slave" actress. "It's beautiful when you watch something good happen to somebody when it's well deserved." Lawrence's gesture -- especially when it came at her own expense -- speaks volumes to how she views fellow high-profile actresses, including another Oscar winner. During the same Marie Claire interview, Lawrence commented on the hatred spewed at the 2013 Best Supporting Actress winner, Anne Hathaway ("Les Miserables"), and how much of it pitted the two women against each other (it was the same year Lawrence took home the Best Actress statuette for "Silver Linings Playbook"). "I thought that was really fucked up," Lawrence said. "It's like, you're sitting behind your computer and writing awful things about a person. F--k you!" We're all for actresses supporting each other, especially since they're still grossly underrepresented in Hollywood. Cheers to J-Law for speaking out against silly, imaginary rivalries, and for remaining her foul-mouthed self in the process. A Chris Hemsworth 'Lethal Weapon' Reboot? It's a Possibility. Posted: A new, juicy rumor has Aussie heartthrob Chris Hemsworth pegged as one of the leads in the long-gestated reboot of the "Lethal Weapon" franchise. The Tracking Board reports that Hemsworth has been offered the starring role in the mysterious project -- which apparently has the working title of "Lionhunters" -- which seems to be a reboot/sequel hybrid. According to Tracking Board, "the recent version of the script centers on the desires of an older cop's son (presumably Riggs' [played by Mel Gibson]) and his wishes to join the police force." Screen Rant notes that Gibson and Rene Russo's characters had a son at the end of 1998's "Lethal Weapon 4," which could pave the way for the scenario that Tracking Board is reporting. In addition to Hemsworth, Justin Lin (the "Fast & Furious" franchise) is reportedly attached to direct, while screenwriter Will Beall will pen the screenplay. Shane Black, who wrote the 1987 original "Lethal Weapon," also has a hand in shaping the new film, according to Tracking Board. It's a familiar refrain, but bears repeating: This is all just a rumor for now. News of another installment in the action franchise has been brewing for years, and until studio Warner Bros. makes any official comment, this all should be taken with a grain of salt. Besides, Hemsworth is pretty busy right now with his role as Thor in the "Avengers" series (and the character's own films), and Lin is set to direct the still-in-development fifth chapter of the "Bourne" series. But if they are indeed interested, what's another few years to wait for this flick? (Though Murtaugh might argue we're all getting too old for this...well, you know.) All you have to do is "like" a page on Facebook and fill out a simple form. That's it. One like and you could be telling Sharlto Copley how creepy you thought he was, as the mean king or making all of your coworkers jealous with your new eye make-up that transforms you into a fairy tale villainess. There are literally endless possibilities here, people. So head on over to Facebook and enter the sweepstakes, then thank us if/when you're splitting an extra-large buttered popcorn with Juno Temple.
