Donnie Yen’s ‘Crouching Tiger’ sequel gets a new action choreographer! Posted: 27 May 2014 01:03 AM PDT The Weinstein Company will start production on a Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon later this year titled Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon II: The Green Destiny. Yuen Woo-ping (True Legend) is directing, with a script by John Fusco (The Forbidden Kingdom), which will be based off the fifth book in Wang Du Lu's Crane-Iron Pentalogy, which is same source material Ang Lee used for the original film. Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon II: The Green Destiny will star Donnie Yen, Michelle Yeoh and Nicholas Tse. Zhang Ziyi is rumored to return. The sequel will continue to revolve around Yu Shu Lien (Michelle Yeoh). "This was an opportunity to explore a lifelong passion I've had for Wu Xia, and if there wasn't continuing source material, I would never have gotten involved," says Fusco.
