| Will Donnie Yen swing by for ‘Monkey King 2′? Posted: 22 May 2014 06:42 PM PDT  "The Monkey King 2" Promotional Poster The Monkey King had the highest-grossing opening day in China, even surpassing Iron Man 3, so it’s no wonder a sequel (and its promotional poster) was recently announced at the Cannes Film Festival. The big question is: Will Cheang Pou-soi (Accident) be returning to the director’s chair? Even more important, will Donnie Yen reprise his role as Sun Wukong? If Yen says yes to The Monkey King 2, it’ll be another film added to his hectic to-do list: Iceman 2 (post-production), Kung Fu Jungle (post-production), The Master (pre-production), Dragon City (pre-production), Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon 2 (pre-production) and Ip Man 3 (in development). Yen is apparently locked in to all of these movies, so it could be another 2 years before production begins on another project. We’ll keep you updated. In the meantime, DDDHouse.com now has The Monkey King on Blu-ray & DVD available for purchase. Keep in mind that the DVD version is Region 3 coded, so you will need a multi-region DVD player to view the movie.
