Take a peak at the new Batmobile in ‘Batman vs. Superman’ Posted: 12 May 2014 12:02 AM PDT Variety reports that Warner Bros. took to Comic-Con to announce a Batman and Superman team-up movie as the follow up to Man of Steel. Zach Snyder (Man of Steel) is set to direct and co-write along with David S. Goyer. Henry Cavill will return as Superman, but no word on who will play Batman (Christian Bale has openly said he wouldn't return to the role). Production is expected to begin in 2014, with a possibly release date in 2015. This team-up movie will obviously be another stepping stone to the upcoming Justice League movie. | According to scottadkinsfanz.co.uk, Scott Adkins has auditioned for the role of Batman. Updates: From a recent press release from Warner (via Collider): "Ben Affleck has been set to star as Batman, a.k.a. Bruce Wayne. Affleck and filmmaker Zack Snyder will create an entirely new incarnation of the character in Snyder's as-yet-untitled project—bringing Batman and Superman together for the first time on the big screen and continuing the director's vision of their universe, which he established in Man of Steel." Updates: Varying reports indicate that TV’s Breaking Bad star Bryan Cranston is attached to play Lex Luthor in the Batman vs. Superman movie. | Variety reports that Gal Gadot (Fast & Furious 6) has signed on to play Wonder Woman. Additionally, Callan Mulvey (300: Rise of an Empire) is being eyed for a villain. | EW reports that Jesse Eisenberg (Adventureland) has signed on to play Lex Luthor in Batman vs. Superman. Collider reports that Zack Snyder will shoot Batman vs. Superman back-to-back with JLA, which means a 2017 release for JLA.
