Reel TV: The 'X-Men' Spin-Off Series 'Legion' Moves Forward, Releases First Picture

Posted: 31 May 2016 09:30 PM PDT

If the box office numbers for X-Men: Apocalypse are any indication, people aren't exactly clamoring for new X-Men stories like they were just a few years ago. So it may seem a little ill timed that FX has just revealed they've greenlit a season of a show linked to the X-Men cinematic universe, but we reserve our right to be cautiously optimistic. The Geek Beat: Jaws Shoes, Star Wars Lawn Ornaments, Warcraft And More To Look For In June

Posted: 31 May 2016 08:30 PM PDT

The summer movie season is officially upon us, and things are heating up outside, in the theaters, and everywhere else there's good geekery to be found. June is a big month for movies, but there are a lot of great books to read out there and collectibles to, well... collect. Here are ten things you'll definitely want to look out for this month:   Star Trek: Countdown Collection, Vol. 1 & 2 Before each of the live-action films that rebooted the Star Trek franchise, IDW Publishing released a graphic novel set before the events of the two films. The graphic novels served as prequels to Star Trek and Star Trek Into Darkness, with the first story focusing on the Romulan villain Nero (played by Eric Bana) and the second story chronicling the evolution of Khan...

Sequel Buzz: 'Thor: Ragnarok,' 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2' and 'Transformers: The Last Knight'

Posted: 31 May 2016 07:00 PM PDT

If you're in the mood for details on some continuing franchises, you've come to the right place. Here is the latest news on a few highly anticipated sequels:   Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Elizabeth Debicki, who played the villain in last summer's The Man From U.N.C.L.E., is likely going bad again for the Guardians of the Galaxy sequel. JoBlo.com confirms she's joining the movie and hints that she's playing Ayesha, aka Her, a character the site also confirms is the main villain. She's kind of the female equivalent of Adam Warlock, aka Him, and her origin is tied to that character, but it's doubted that he will show up here -- unless it really turns out to be Kurt Russell's role, also the father of Chris Pratt's character...

Dwayne Johnson Looks Extra Tough in New 'Fast 8' Photo, Confirms 'Doc Savage'

Posted: 31 May 2016 12:00 PM PDT

Recently, Dwayne Johnson completed production of a big-screen version of Baywatch, due in theaters on May 19, 2017, and he's already moved on to his next role. It's a familiar character, but Johnson sounds determined to give him a different spin, as evidenced in a new photo (above). Introduced in Fast Five back in 2011, Luke Hobbs was a Diplomatic Secret Service agent who was tasked with tracking down the heroes portrayed by Vin Diesel and Paul Walker. He returned in Fast & Furious 6 and recruited the team to help him take down a villain. In Furious 7, Hobbs has a smaller part, though he is featured in a great action sequence against Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham).
