Flirt With History In This 'A Royal Night Out' Making-Of Clip (Exclusive) Posted: 02 May 2016 10:00 PM PDT Mother's Day is right around the corner (May 8th, in case you've forgotten) and if you're still scratching your head over trying to figure out what to get that special someone, we've got you covered. Grab her a copy of A Royal Night Out, which is on Digital HD now and hits DVD on May 3, 2016. Trust us, it'll put a smile on everyone's face. Why A Royal Night Out, you ask? Because it's an incredibly charming, creative romantic comedy inspired by the night Princess Elizabeth (Sarah Gadon) and Princess Margaret (Bel Powley) gave their guards the slip and slunk out into the streets of London to celebrate the Allied victory in Europe during World War II. If you don't believe us, though, just press play on this exclusive clip from the... Read More This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |
Marvel Studios Countdown: 'Civil War' and the Return of General "Thunderbolt" Ross Posted: 02 May 2016 09:30 PM PDT Civil War trailers have already revealed one of the film’s more interesting call backs to previous Marvel movies. I don’t think any of us really expected to see William Hurt reprise his role as General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross (from 2008’s The Incredible Hulk), but the character sets the stage in the trailers for the film. We see Ross going over the collateral damage caused by the Avengers while a dour Captain America listens on. Most casual Marvel fans know “Thunderbolt” Ross as the antagonist from the Hulk’s first appearance way back in 1962. He was present at the gamma explosion that irradiated Dr. Bruce Banner, and before that even happened the two men had a strenuous relationship. Ross railed against his daughter... 'Rock That Body' Is Shaping Up to Be the Next 'Bridesmaids' Posted: 02 May 2016 08:00 PM PDT Ever since Bridesmaids turned into a massive hit back in 2011, it told Hollywood two things: 1. Audiences are starved for female-driven movies, and 2. Make more filthy R-rated films starring all women. In the years since we've seen other attempts (some good, some not so much) at recreating the magic of Bridesmaids, and its director Paul Feig has gone on to helm excellent female-driven comedies like The Heat and Spy (with his all-female Ghostbusters reboot due out in July), and while this summer's Bad Moms will throw its R-rated jokes on the table with its Bridesmaids-meets-Mean Girls vibe, a new film starring Scarlett Johansson may be the closest we've come to recapturing that bridal party mayhem on the big screen. It's called Rock That Body, and... Read More This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |
'Space Jam 2' Officially to Star LeBron James With 'Star Trek Beyond' Director Posted: 02 May 2016 06:30 PM PDT Rumor of a Space Jam sequel has been circulating for years, but now it's official. And contrary to the denial we got two years ago, LeBron James will indeed be the NBA star filling the original's Michael Jordan slot. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Cleveland Cavaliers forward will lead the live-action/animation hybrid opposite Looney Tunes characters Bug Bunny, Daffy Duck, etc., and the movie will likely be helmed by Justin Lin, who previously helped breathe life into the once-fading Fast and Furious franchise. Lin's latest is another series takeover, Star Trek Beyond, meaning he's got experience qualifying him for the space side of Space Jam 2. As for his relationship to the sport, he also directed a little-known documentary short called Crossover, which... Read More This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |
Why You'll Love Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's New Alarm Clock App Posted: 02 May 2016 04:50 PM PDT Do you have a hard time getting out of bed in the morning? Do you have a hard time sticking to the goals you set for yourself? Do you just wanna sleep the day away and ignore the beep beep beep coming from your bedside table? Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson just launched his own alarm clock app called, fittingly, The Rock Clock, and it differs from your typical alarm clock in a couple of ways -- most notably that you set a personal goal for it to remind you of whenever you get up, and it also comes built with personal messages from the man himself throughout. Heck, even many of the ringtones feature Rock's voice. We especially love "Good Morning Sunshine," an amusingly catchy tune sung by the man himself. (By the way, he voices a bunch of the ringtones... DC Superhero Movie Buzz: Ben Affleck Wants to Make the Definitive 'Batman' Movie Posted: 02 May 2016 03:00 PM PDT This week sees the release of Captain America: Civil War, which has already received plenty of advance critical praise. That's led to a lot of positive buzz about Marvel's future slate of movies. But we're also hearing rumblings about upcoming DC projects. Let's start with Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne, aka Batman, in Zack Snyder's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Affleck's casting raised a lot of eyebrows when it was announced, but the veteran actor turned in a truly praiseworthy performance as an aged hero who is initially motivated by anger, disgust and a bit of self-loathing. Even those who didn't particularly enjoy the movie agreed that Affleck's Batman was the best thing in it. That raised anticipation for the long rumored solo... Posted: 02 May 2016 01:30 PM PDT The Flash: Seth Grahame-Smith, who was attached to make his feature directing debut with superhero movie The Flash, has departed the project due to "creative differences." Grahame-Smith (Dark Shadows, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter) also wrote the screenplay, based on a treatment by Phil Lord and Christopher Miler (The Lego Movie). The plan is to retain the script and find a new director; Ezra Miller is still set to star. The movie is scheduled for release on March 16, 2018. [THR] Justice League Part One: Jeremy Irons, who portrayed Batman's extremely capable assistant (and butler) Alfred in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (above), says he will reprise his role in Justice League Part One. The movie is currently filming in London under the direction... Read More This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |
