McDreamy's Next Movie: Patrick Dempsey in Talks For 'Bridget Jones's Baby' Posted: Bridget Jones is about to meet another dashing, handsome man with a great head of hair - McDreamy! Deadline reports that Patrick Dempsey is in talks to star in "Bridget Jones's Baby," the follow-up to 2001's "Bridget Jones's Diary" and 2004's "Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason." Renee Zellweger will once again play the titular character, and Colin Firth is set to reprise his role as Mark Darcy. Dempsey's schedule is free to make movies now that - SPOILER ALERT - his "Grey's Anatomy" character, Derek Shepherd, was killed off last season. While the plot details of "Bridget Jones's Baby" are unknown, it's safe to assume that Bridget is pregnant or already has a baby. At the end of "Edge of Reason," Mark proposed to Bridget, so they may be married already. Or as anyone familiar with Bridget would know, the pregnancy might be an "oops." As for Dempsey's possible part in the movie, he could fill the shoes of Hugh Grant, who won't be returning as the debonair bad boy Daniel Cleaver. Want more stuff like this? Like us on Facebook. MMA Fighter Ronda Rousey to Star in 'Road House' Remake Posted: Bar brawlers had better watch out - or they might get a beatdown from Ronda Rousey. Variety reports that the MMA fighter will star in a reboot of the 1989 cult classic "Road House," which originally featured Patrick Swayze as a bouncer hired to clean up a rowdy bar in Missouri. Swayze then had to contend with corrupt businessmen threatening the town, all while throwing out memorable (if illogical) lines like, "Pain don't hurt" and "Nobody ever wins a fight." Rousey reportedly reached out to Swayze's widow, Lisa Niemi, for her blessing, which Niemi gave. On Twitter, the UFC fighter said it was a "great honor" to be part of the project: Rousey has begun dabbling in acting in recent years, appearing in "The Expendables 3," "Entourage," and "Furious 7." Next up is her biopic "My Fight/Your Fight" and the female counterterrorism drama "The Athena Project."Want more stuff like this? Like us on Facebook. 5 Hidden Gems on Netflix You Need to Watch Right Now Posted: As someone with a serious binge-watching addiction and access to a Netflix account, I have watched my fair share of movies and television shows; many of which I would not have seen otherwise. It's always a nice surprise when you click on a movie you've never heard of, and it turns out being amazing. If you haven't watched any of these, then do yourself a favor and jump onto Netflix right now. (Well, after you finish reading this). I have hopes that you will be happily surprised like I was! 1. "The Way He Looks" (2014) Let me start by saying THIS IS SUCH A GOOD MOVIE. This might be in my top 10 favorite movies ever. It tells the story of a young boy in school who is blind, and another boy who is new in town and just started at the school. The two of them become friends, and together deal with jealousies and bullies. It's a beautiful story about friendships, independence, and first loves. 2. "Sleepwalk With Me" (2012) If you have ever watched any of Mike Birbiglia's standup, this movie may seem a bit familiar. He wrote and directed it, and plays a character very much based on himself. His character feels pressured into marrying his long-time girlfriend, which surprisingly helps his almost nonexistent career as a standup comedian. Oh, and he also sleepwalks a lot. Hence, the name of the movie. 3. "The Giant Mechanical Man" (2012) I initially watched this movie because it was starring Jenna Fischer (a.k.a. Pam, from "The Office"). She plays a woman who is very much lost in her life. She doesn't have a steady job, she doesn't have a significant other, and she is unsure of who she is. She ends up meeting a street performer who is in a similar place in his life. It is a sweet, quirky love story (my favorite kind) about finding the one person who "makes you feel like you belong". (Awwwww). 4. "The Boxtrolls" (2014) If you're like me, you may have seen commercials for this movie and thought it looked weird as heck. It's about a little boy who was raised by trolls that wear boxes and live underground. I went into this movie with a lot of skepticism, but was so happily surprised with it. It is such a warm, loving story about identity, family, and good triumphing over evil. If this movie were a feeling, it would be the feeling of warming your feet by a fire after a cold day, surrounded by people you love. That's cheesy, I know, but it's also completely accurate. 5. "They Came Together" (2014) I actually don't know if this counts as a "hidden gem," because I have no idea if people know of it or not. However, if you have not seen it, you should change that immediately. It's a parody of romantic comedies, and it stars Amy Poehler and Paul Rudd. I know, it sounds too good to be true. If you need to be cheered up or just have a laugh, you're welcome, because this is the movie for you. Watch Bradley Cooper Dance and Fanboy Over 'Frozen': 'I Cried' Posted: Last night, the main focus -- rightly -- was on Stephen Colbert's debut as the new host of the "Late Show." But that doesn't mean it was the only thing going on and you really shouldn't miss what happened on James Corden's "Late Late Show." James had Bradley Cooper, Andrew Garfield, and Jake McDorman as guests and they were a fun bunch to watch. James asked Bradley about dancing, since he and Jennifer Lawrence were in a dance competition in "Silver Linings Playbook." Bradley said he grew up in the era of breakdancing and "did very well at the bar mitzvahs" growing up. James said there's no way he can bodybox, then got up and made Bradley give a dancing demo. So here he is, doing ... what's that, The Robot? Love Andrew Garfield's moves from the couch: Here's another must-watch, and it involves "Limitless" star Jake McDorman talking about first meeting Bradley Cooper on the set of "American Sniper." Jake and some other guys got to the Morocco set first, then Bradley showed up, having bulked up about 45 pounds. When Bradley got to set and approached the intimidated guys, the first thing he said to them was, "You guys seen that movie 'Frozen'?" Jake said they weren't sure if it was a test or what, since Bradley was speaking in a Southern accent like he was in character. But it wasn't a test. Bradley said he had just watched the movie on the plane there. "It's a great movie," Bradley said to James. "It blew me away. It's incredible. I was very late to the party. I was very late. I cried for sure. I think I watched it twice on the plane. Why not?" This was all said with sincerity, and no embarrassment, which just makes us like Bradley Cooper even more. He can dance. He respects Disney. He's not ashamed to fanboy over "Frozen." No wonder Jennifer Lawrence keeps wanting to make movies with him. Want more stuff like this? Like us on Facebook. 10 Stars (Shockingly) Never Nominated for an Emmy Posted: Even if a show is critically acclaimed, adored by fans, and a massive ratings hit, Emmy nominations aren't always a guarantee. Such is the case for a handful of beloved TV stars... Not only have these actors and actresses not won an Emmy over their fantastic careers -- they haven't even been given the chance. Not cool, Emmys. Not cool. So, who's been super duper snubbed in the past? Check out 10 TV stars who have never been nominated for an Emmy (but totally should have been). Two Sitcom Stars Tie for Highest-Paid TV Actress of 2015 Posted: They say laughter is the best medicine ... to cure an ailing bank account. Funny ladies took several spots on Forbes' list of the world's highest-paid TV actresses. Two sitcom stars tied for the top honor: Sofia Vergara of "Modern Family," who topped the list for the fourth consecutive year, and Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting of "The Big Bang Theory," who topped for the first time. For both stars, the combination of sitcom contracts and lucrative endorsement deals put them over the top, with earnings of $28.5 million (pretax) from June 1, 2014 to June 1, 2015. Here are the top 15 highest-paid TV actresses, according to Forbes: 1. Sofia Vergara - $28.5 million 1. Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting - $28.5 million 3. Julie Bowen - $12 million 4. Ellen Pompeo - $11.5 million 5. Mariska Hargitay - $11 million 6. Julianna Margulies - $10.5 million 6. Amy Poehler - $10.5 million 8. Mindy Kaling - $9 million 9. Patricia Heaton - $7 million 9. Kerry Washington - $7 million 11. Tina Fey - $6.5 million 11. Emily Deschanel - $6.5 million 13. Pauley Perrette - $6 million 14. Robin Wright - $5.5 million 15. Zooey Deschanel - $5 million As you can see, "Modern Family" star Julie Bowen was just below Sofia and Kaley, although with less than half of their overall earnings. Most of the actresses are network TV stars, although good for Robin Wright -- of Netflix's "House of Cards" -- for sneaking her way onto the list. However, on a less positive note, there isn't much racial diversity here. As Forbes noted, "Vergara, Kaling, and Scandal star Kerry Washington, who made $7 million, are the only minority actresses to make the ranking. UCLA's annual report on diversity in film and TV found that among broadcast comedy and drama leads, minorities were underrepresented by a factor of 7 to 1, while cable shows underrepresented minorities by more than 2 to 1." And Forbes also noted that there is still a gap between the highest paid actresses and the highest paid actors: Maybe no one ever told Hollywood that more than half of the people in the world are women. Oh well, $4.5 million is still a lot more than we'll see this year, so congrats to all the list-makers. Want more stuff like this? Like us on Facebook. Rick Grimes Looks Tense in New 'Walking Dead' Season 6 Poster and Morgan Photo Posted: It's getting dark in Alexandria! "The Walking Dead" Season 6 is shuffling our way in just over a month, with a supersized 90-minute premiere on Sunday, October 11. To build even more anticipation, AMC just shared two new images. One is "key art" for Season 6, aka a poster showing Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) inside the W of TWD (careful of those other "W" people, Rick). As you can see, his face is still bandaged from his fight with Pete in Season 5. Check it out: AMC.com also released the first character portrait from Season 6, showing old Atlanta buddies Rick and Morgan Jones (Lennie James) in Alexandria. It's not the happiest of reunions, as you can tell from the image above. (Here's the full version.) The tension is palpable, and not of the bromantic kind. Are they tempted to reach for their respective weapons, High Noon style, in Alexandria's cemetery? Hopefully not. But we know there will be some ideology clashes ahead for Morgan, who now has an "all life is precious" mantra, and Rick, who is has entered "kill or be killed" mode. Want more stuff like this? Bearded Daniel Radcliffe Plays Rough in 'The Gamechangers' Trailer Posted: Move over, Harry Potter -- Daniel Radcliffe is now ... Hairy Player? Actually, DanRad is Sam Houser, one of the creators of the insanely popular video game series "Grand Theft Auto," in the upcoming TV movie "The Gamechangers." The 90 minute drama follows the clash between Radcliffe's Houser and Bill Paxton's Jack Thompson, an American anti-gaming activist who protests the graphic violence of GTA. According to a BBC press release, via Deadline, "The Gamechangers" "is for an adult audience and has not been authorized by the producers of Grand Theft Auto" but "is based on court documents and interviews with many of those involved ..." Check out the trailer: Here's the snag: "The Gamechangers" airs September 15 on BBC2 in the U.K., but there's no word yet on when it's coming to the U.S., presumably on BBC America. Stay tuned! Buff Matt Damon Goes Shirtless in First 'Bourne' 2016 Photo Posted: He's pale. He's ripped. He's shirtless. He's Bourne. And he's back! Matt Damon looks like he's spoiling for a fight in the first photo shared from the set of the "Bourne" movie coming in 2016. It's a behind-the-scenes photo, not an official movie still, and it was shared by producer Frank Marshall on September 8. Here it is: This as-yet-untitled "Bourne" movie (sometimes called "Bourne 5") reunites Matt Damon and director Paul Greengrass, whose last collaboration was "The Bourne Ultimatum," the third in Damon's Bourne series, in 2007. After that, Jeremy Renner stepped into the franchise with 2012's "The Bourne Legacy." This new movie will also bring back Julia Stiles as Nicky Parsons, with fresh faces including Alicia Vikander, Tommy Lee Jones, and Vincent Cassel. At the end of August, Matt Damon had mentioned that the Bourne movie would start production the following week. He described the plot to Buzzfeed as "Bourne through an austerity-riddled Europe and in a post-Snowden world." The latest "Bourne" sequel is currently scheduled to open July 29, 2016. Proof That Colin Firth Only Gets Better With Age Posted: Mr. Darcy -- we mean, Colin Firth -- is about to turn 55, but this man is a fine wine that just seems to get more handsome with age. And we have the proof. Here's photographic evidence that as the years go by, Colin Firth will be the most dapper guy in the room. This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |
Terry Gilliam Apologizes for Being Dead After Variety Mistakenly Posts Obit Posted: It was just a flesh wound! Variety's report of Terry Gilliam's death was greatly exaggerated, but the 74-year-old Monty Python OG and iconic director is still sorry to have passed away, especially when he has some gigs lined up. It wasn't very considerate of him to die, and he insisted fans shouldn't believe Variety's subsequent retraction. The hilarious awkwardness ensued after Variety -- usually very reliable -- tweeted news of the "12 Monkeys" and "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" director's death: The article was later pulled and Variety issued a correction/apology/retraction: Cue a thousand Monty Python references -- from the knight in "Holy Grail" and the dead parrot sketch, to calls of "Bring out your dead!" and the sacking of Variety employees who have just been sacked. Gilliam got in on the fun himself, proving that he's not dead with an apology for his own demise:

See Paul Walker on Set in This 'Furious 7' Blu-ray Featurette Clip Posted: It still tugs at the heart to see Paul Walker joking around on the set of "Furious 7," smiling that smile and having no idea that he would never finish filming the movie. Walker died in November 2013 and his brothers helped finish the movie. "Furious 7" is now coming out on DVD/Blu-ray this coming Tuesday, September 15, and Entertainment Weekly previewed one of the many featurettes, showing the late actor on set. Watch the video below to go behind-the-scenes with director James Wan, stars Vin Diesel and Nathalie Emmanuel, and writer/executive producer Chris Morgan. Toward the end of the Blu-ray clip, there are several shots of Paul, and Chris explains that the cast and crew decided as a group how they wanted to move on after the "horribly devastating" loss of a "family member." "We all got together and we were very honest and looked at each other and said, 'What would he want?' That was the big question. Do you finish it? And everyone believed, from the bottom of their hearts, that he would want it." Here's a full list of the "Furious 7" Blu-ray extras, via Hypable:

5 Reasons Why 'The Wedding Singer' Is Still Adam Sandler's Best Movie Posted: If there's anything better than Sandler in "The Wedding Singer," we don't wanna know about it. The 1998 romantic comedy hit during peek Sandler Time -- he was riding high on all the good will generated by "Billy Madison" and "Happy Gilmore." His fans got a funnier, and surprisingly warmer, side of the actor than they were expecting -- and every chemistry-blessed scene between him and costar Drew Barrymore didn't hurt, either. Almost 20 years since its release, "Singer" is still the best movie Sandler has ever made. Not convinced? In honor of Sandler's birthday this week, here are five reasons to help change your mind. Here's the Release Date For Christopher Nolan's Next Movie Posted: We'd sign up for breaking news alerts on what Christopher Nolan had for breakfast each morning, so obviously we're two inches from the computer screen at the news that the "Interstellar" and "The Dark Knight" director has a new movie coming out ... on July 21, 2017. Mark your calendars now! According to The Hollywood Reporter, Nolan is making his next movie for longtime studio partner Warner Bros. What's the movie about? Who'll be in it? No clue. It wouldn't be a Chris Nolan movie if we knew this far in advance. All we really need to know is that it's coming. And "Pitch Perfect 3" and Luc Besson's "Valerian" should know that it's coming on the same release date, which is also a week before the new "Spider-Man." Who will win that summer box office? We'll know two years from now, but not a moment sooner. One thing we're pretty sure about is the quality of what's coming. Nolan's movie will be good-to-great with a strong possibility of awesome. The man doesn't know how to make a bad movie. He's only directed nine feature films, so far -- "Following," "Memento," "Insomnia," "Batman Begins," "The Prestige," "The Dark Knight," "Inception," "The Dark Knight Rises" and -- his most recent mind-bender -- "Interstellar." There isn't a stinker in the bunch, even if some may be better than others. So it's truly a red-letter day when he announces a new film. Are you excited to see this mysterious new movie? Trick question! Want more stuff like this? Like us on Facebook. This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |
Posted: If you're like us and value your sleep, you probably nodded off into your Ambien dreamland before the party started on post-prime time TV. Don't worry; we've got you covered. Here's the best of what happened last night on late night. Stephen! Stephen! Stephen! The crowd chanted for the new host on the premiere of "The Late Show With Stephen Colbert" on Tuesday, September 8. It was a big evening across late night, with only "Conan" on repeats and "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," "Jimmy Kimmel Live," "Late Night With Seth Meyers," and "The Late Late Show With James Corden" all breaking out major guests. Here's your competition, Stephen! Colbert opened his show with a montage of "The Star-Spangled Banner" as sung by Stephen and guests across the country, including a cameo from Jon Stewart. The episode ended with a massive jam session with a bunch of musicians playing "Everyday People." Stephen introduced his band, Jon Batiste and Stay Human, and they showed off the new "Late Show" intro and Ed Sullivan Theater. Stephen only had two guests for the premiere, and his first guest, George Clooney, had no movie to promote, so they made one up: "Decision Strike." We'd watch! The second guest, Jeb Bush, complimented President Obama (kind of) and talked about how, as president, he'd bring people together -- Democrats and Republicans. He also explained how he's different from his brother George. Here's a special online bonus clip with more detailed political answers from Jeb: No late night episode is complete without shameless Donald Trump promotion, so here's Stephen's All You Can Trump Buffet, complete with Oreos -- because Trump said he will never eat Oreos again. Stephen's first show included a beautiful tribute to David Letterman, who retired from the "Late Show" earlier this year, plus a video cameo from Jimmy Fallon, whose "Tonight Show" airs at the same time (nice way to defuse any potential late night feud talk). Of all the current late night hosts, Colbert was probably closest to upbeat Fallon -- without the games and gushing. (Stephen does need to work on letting the guests talk a bit more.) "The Tonight Show" had Richard Gere, Jessica Simpson and Keith Urban. Jessica talked about her kids and how she always wears high heels. She even jet skis in heels, and they showed a photo. Richard got the crowd going -- he wanted to join the band -- but was more serious when talking about his feelings of isolation when playing a homeless man. Over on "Jimmy Kimmel Live," Jimmy featured the amazing Emily Blunt (his neighbor), who is now a U.S. citizen. She answered American trivia as part of a REAL U.S. citizenship test and discussed Josh Brolin's pool party with his "Sicario" co-stars, including Benicio Del Toro who jumped into very cold water while wearing very thin cotton boxers. Also on JKL, Rita Ora and Chris Brown performed "Body On Me," and Jimmy decided Rita's music needs to be even catchier so he collected some clickbait headlines set to music to create "The Clickbait Song." Instant classic! Over on "Late Night," Tina Fey -- promoting "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt" -- shamed her old Beyonce dubsmash, saying it wasn't even that great. So she schooled the Internet with The Greatest Dubsmash Ever. (Spoiler alert: It's Maya Rudolph in bed.) Nick Jonas was also on Seth's show and Nick talked about that time, when he was about 14, he saw three UFOs. So, like his buddy Demi Lovato, he's a firm believer in extraterrestrial life. Does he believe in mermaids, though? James Corden won for hottest male guests -- sorry Clooney -- with Bradley Cooper, Andrew Garfield, and Jake McDorman. Watch below to see Bradley break out some sweet dance moves, and Andrew let his hair flow free. Plus -- this is great -- Jake talked about meeting Bradley on the set of "American Sniper" and bulked-up Bradley's first question was "You guys seen that movie 'Frozen'?" Want more stuff like this?
