'Harry Potter' Fans Can Enjoy Christmas Dinner in Hogwarts's Great Hall Posted: We've always been a bit jealous of Hogwarts students and their amazing dining options in the Great Hall, and now, fans of the "Harry Potter" series have the opportunity to experience a magical meal of their own. Warner Bros. Studio in London is hosting a Christmas feast on the film's set on December 3, where diners can enjoy a sumptuous feast in the actual Great Hall room seen in the "Potter" flicks. Here's more scoop from the official WB website: In addition to dinner, the event also includes a studio tour, with stops at other iconic sets from the franchise, including Platform 9 ¾, Diagon Alley, the Gryffindor common room, and the Weasleys' home, The Burrow. The evening will be capped with cocktails -- and yes, butterbeer -- and dancing. It all sounds pretty wonderful to us, though the $350 price tag is a bit steep. But that may be a small price to pay for the chance to live out your Hogwarts fantasies for the evening. Accio Christmas pudding! Porsche Responds to Lawsuit Filed by Paul Walker's Daughter, Blames Driver Posted: In response to a wrongful death lawsuit filed by Paul Walker's daughter, Meadow, automaker Porsche has said that Walker's death was the result of reckless driving, not a defect in the vehicle. "As we have said before, we are very sad whenever anyone is hurt in a Porsche vehicle, but we believe the authorities' reports in this case clearly establish that this tragic crash resulted from reckless driving and excessive speed," Porsche's statement said. Meadow Walker filed a lawsuit against the automaker on Monday, claiming that design defects and a lack of safety measures directly contributed to her father's death on November 30, 2013. Walker was the passenger in a 2005 Porsche Carrera GT driven by his friend, Roger Rodas, when Rodas lost control of vehicle and slammed into a tree, causing the car to burst into flames; both men were killed in the accident. Law enforcement officials had said that the car was traveling at 90 mph when it crashed, though Meadow Walker's lawsuit disputes that number. Her lawyer, Jeff Milam, said in a statement about the suit, "She's a teenage girl still dealing with the tragic loss of her father." Rodas's widow filed a similar suit against Porsche in 2014, which is still pending. Earlier this year, Porsche responded in much the same way, siding with authorities who deemed that reckless driving caused the crash. "Roger Rodas's death, and all other injuries or damages claimed, were the result of Roger Rodas's own comparative fault," Porsche said at the time. Will Rogue Appear in 'Gambit'? Anna Paquin Weighs In Posted: Not much is known yet about the plot of Channing Tatum's upcoming "X-Men" spinoff flick, "Gambit," including whether or not fellow mutant Rogue will make an appearance. Now, actress Anna Paquin, who plays Rogue in the series, may have an answer. In a Twitter exchange with fans earlier this week, Paquin was asked point-blank whether or not she will be in "Gambit." Paquin's response? A simple "no." But when the media ran with that quote, stating definitively that Paquin wouldn't be in the flick, the actress backtracked a bit, updating Twitter once more to clarify that her statement "wasn't a press release" and that she just supplied "the information that I currently have." So does that mean that she will appear in the movie after all? Maybe, but probably not. SlashFilm has a good analysis of how the films' timelines make it seem unlikely that Paquin would star in "Gambit," because if that flick is set in the 1980s (which is the rumor right now), then Rogue would be only a baby, according to the chronology of the existing movies. That means, obviously, that she can't be a love interest for Tatum's Gambit, like she is in the "X-Men" comic stories; plus, with the addition of Lea Seydoux to the cast as Bella Donna Boudreaux, the love interest angle is already covered. Of course, the plot for "Gambit" may not be set in stone yet, especially considering the film's behind-the-scenes woes. It has an October 2016 release date, but its director, Rupert Wyatt, just suddenly left the project, and no replacement has been named yet. Production was also pushed from this fall to next March, another sign that the creative side has some issues. So Paquin-as-Rogue may yet fit into this version of Gambit's story; it's all a bit up in the air at this point. As Paquin herself noted, things may change, so stay tuned. Sean Astin Says 'Goonies 2' Is Definitely Happening: 'People Want It' Posted: Rumors of a sequel to "The Goonies" began to surface soon after the flick was first released back in 1985, but fans have waited for more than 30 years with no luck. So will "Goonies 2" ever happen? According to one of its stars, it's only a matter of time. In an interview with the Tulsa World, Sean Astin, who played Mikey in the flick, didn't provide any concrete details about plans for "Goonies 2." But the actor did say that the film has become such a phenomenon, that it's certainly ripe for a sequel -- in whatever form that may be. "I have said and will always say, that it's not a question of if, but rather of when the sequel gets made," Astin told the World. "The precise makeup of it, I have no idea. Whether I will be in it, no idea. Whether they would even want the original cast in it, no idea. "But it doesn't matter. It's bigger - it's actually bigger than everybody. It's bigger than even Steven (Spielberg), who created it. It's bigger than Richard Donner, who breathed such strong life into it. It's now a part of American cultural lore, and the studio has a lot to gain from promoting it, so you can take it to the bank that people will get to enjoy it more." That's a bold prediction from Astin, though you can't argue with his logic. The actor cites the film's popularity at outdoor screenings, which have popped up across the country, as well as the flick's place as one of the top-suggested movies available on Apple TV, as signs that it "has solidified its place in the pantheon of popular films." The World writes: Sounds pretty logical to us. We won't hold our breaths, since Astin has been known to make bold proclamations on the subject in the past, but it's heartening to know that one of the film's stars feels as strongly about this as the rest of us. Iron Man and Thor Dancing in 'Avengers: Age of Ultron' Gag Reel Will Make You Laugh Posted: Avengers, assemble ... for a blooper reel! The Blu-ray and DVD editions of "Avengers: Age of Ultron" come out this Friday, Oct. 2 (the movie is already available on Digital HD), and they come with the usual bonus features - deleted scenes, making-of vignettes, audio commentary. But the best bit is the funny gag reel, which you can see a clip of here: Iron Man (Robert Downey, Jr.) and Thor (Chris Hemsworth) show off some dance moves, while Captain America (Chris Evans) goes in for a big smooch on Tony Stark. And of course, there are klutzy falls and dialogue garbles There are even some hilarious CGI mistakes and miscues, like Mjölnir not quite arriving when Thor calls for it. And you just have to see the face Downey makes when he performs a certain, uh, action. Want more stuff like this? Like us on Facebook. 11 Times Gretchen Wieners Was the Fetchest Part of 'Mean Girls' Posted: It's near-impossible to choose a favorite character from teen movie classic "Mean Girls," but we have a soft spot for Gretchen Wieners (played by Lacey Chabert) -- the girl who never stopped trying to make "fetch" happen. Gretchen's dad invented the delightful breakfast treat Toaster Strudel, her hair is full of secrets, and she's, like, a really good friend. So what if her hairline is "so weird" and she can't rock hoop earrings? Irregardless! We love her anyway. Give it up for Gretchen Wieners and relive 11 times she was the fetchest part of "Mean Girls." This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |
Mulder and Scully Still Seek the Truth in New 'X-Files' Trailer Posted: The truth is still out there, and Mulder (David Duchovny) and Scully (Gillian Anderson) are reuniting to find it in "The X-Files" limited series revival. Fox debuted the first full-length trailer last night, in two parts, during episodes of "Gotham" and "Minority Report." Although it doesn't give away much of the plot of the revival, the trailer gives us more glimpses of Mulder and Scully as they get back to the business of solving supernatural mysteries. "In 2002, our investigation ceased, but my personal obsession did not," Mulder says in the first part of the trailer. While he's as determined and hard-charging as ever, Scully is careful and wary. "You are on dangerous ground here," she warns Mulder. Ahhh, these two - some things never change, and we're glad about that. "The X-Files" revival brings back many of the original show's stars, including Mitch Pileggi as FBI assistant director Skinner; Annabeth Gish as Agent Monica Reyes; William B. Davis as the Cigarette Smoking Man; and Bruce Harwood, Tom Braidwood, and Dean Haglund as the Lone Gunmen. The six-episode miniseries premieres Jan. 24, 2016 on Fox. Want more stuff like this? Leonardo DiCaprio Is Left For Dead in New 'Revenant' Trailer Posted: He speaks! A new trailer for Alejandro G. Iñárritu's "The Revenant" is out today, and it features Leonardo DiCaprio saying (a little) more than he did in the first teaser. It also shows quite a bit more action, and hints at more of the plot. DiCaprio is a fur trapper whose camp comes under fire from a Native American tribe. Then, as he and his companions - including his son - trek across the snowy wilderness, he's attacked by a bear. One of those companions, played by Tom Hardy, leaves him for dead by half-burying his body in the ground. But DiCaprio still lives, hauls himself out of the grave, and embarks on a quest for vengeance. "He's afraid," DiCaprio whispers to someone. "He knows how far I came to find him." The visuals are just stunning, thanks to Oscar-winning cinematographer Emmanuel Lubezki. DiCaprio looks to give an intense performance, and no doubt will be in the mix for the Best Actor Oscar this year. "The Revenant" opens Christmas Day. Want more stuff like this? Like us on Facebook. 5 Things You Need to Know About 'The Flash' Season 2 Posted: A whole new world -- and a brand new Flash -- are coming in "The Flash" Season 2. The first season ended on quite a cliffhanger, with our hero Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) taking a super-speed leap into a wormhole to stop it from destroying Central City. What happened after that? Fans will find out when the action resumes Tuesday, October 6 at 8 p.m. ET on The CW. Here are five things you need to know about the new season. 1. There's a Time Jump Into the Premiere The first episode of Season 2, "The Man Who Saved Central City," picks up "months" after the Singularity attacked. We'll see Barry still struggling to forgive himself for Eddie's death (side note: Is Eddie really gone?) and concerned about putting his friends in danger. So he's pushing everyone away and is choosing to just protect the city on his own. However, when a meta-human named Atom Smasher (Adam Copeland) attacks the city, Iris West (Candice Patton) tells Barry that he needs to let his friends help him. Also in the premiere, Cisco (Carlos Valdes) helps Joe (Jesse L. Martin) with his Meta Task Force. 2. Iris has a Bigger Role Expect to see more of Iris this season, after Barry kept her in the dark last year. Executive producer Andrew Kreisberg told MTV News that Iris is the one who brings the team together in the Season 2 premiere, and we'll also see more of her relationship with her father. "Iris has an extremely strong story this year, dealing with the West family and her dad," Kreisberg said. "It's absolutely amazing - and we're really excited for people to see what happens to her this year." 3. Another Flash Is Coming Season 2, Episode 2 is called "Flash of Two Worlds," and it will introduce the DC Comics character Jay Garrick (Teddy Sears), the original fastest man alive. This mysterious guy from Earth-2 will appear at S.T.A.R. Labs with a warning about an evil speedster named Zoom, who is set on destroying The Flash. "[Garrick has] never been portrayed to our knowledge in live action," Kreisberg said at Comic-Con. "Now that we've established our Flash, we thought it was interesting to bring on the original Flash and create a brand new relationship for Barry to have." 4. Prepare to Welcome Many New Faces Executive producer Greg Berlanti said they'll be introducing several characters from Earth-2 this year, beyond Garrick. Also, actor Michael Ironside will be playing Lewis Snart, the estranged, abusive father of villains Leonard Snart/Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller) and Lisa Snart/Golden Glider (Peyton List). According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ironside will be in Season 2, Episode 3, "Family of Rogues." Entertainment Weekly listed more of the fresh faces, including Wally West (Keiynan Lonsdale), Patty Spivot (Shantel VanSanten), and Jesse Quick (Violett Beane) as new allies. 5. Expect a WTF Moment in the Premiere Just as a teaser/warning, TVLine got to see the Season 2 premiere in advance and shared a brief review. Overall, they said "it is quite satisfying," but there were some caveats. As they wrote: Sounds like fans may have a strong not-so-positive reaction to this particular Episode 1 scene, but doesn't that just make you even more curious to see it? "The Flash" Season 2 starts Tuesday, October 6 from 8 to 9 p.m. ET on The CW. This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |

Posted: If you're like us and value your sleep, you probably nodded off into your Ambien dreamland before the party started on post-prime time TV. Don't worry; we've got you covered. Here's the best of what happened last night on late night. Let's get this party started with Michelle Obama, who chatted to Stephen Colbert about her big plans post-FLOTUS. "I want to open a window," she said. "I can't open my windows." Dream big, friend. Over on "The Tonight Show," Rob Lowe, Kat Dennings and Beth Behrs played a game of Password, where they had to guess (wait for it...) passwords. It was cute, but mostly because everyone was so epically bad at the game. Over on "Late Night," Cindy Crawford mused on the sexism she faced while in a college science program. Uhm, check yourself before you wreck yourself, North Western University. Cindy has beauty and brains. As we all know, Jimmy Kimmel fake loathes Matt Damon, and the man himself showed up on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" to a) annoy him, and b) interrupt his hilarious Mars joke. Sigh, these two. Oh, and they also went to couples therapy together. Thank god they're working it out, we can't handle another Kermit and Miss Piggy situation.
