Marvel Studios Chief Teases 'Captain America,' 'Spider-Man' and TV's 'Daredevil' Posted: 30 Sep 2015 09:00 PM PDT While promoting the home video release of Avengers: Age of Ultron this week, Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige addressed a number of topics regarding the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Here are the most notable bits: Captain America: Civil War ends an era It'll have been a brief "era," spanning only five years, from 2011 to 2016, but the end of the time of the first wave of Captain America movies will arrive with the third, Captain America: Civil War, next May. That's not to believe we won't be seeing a fourth solo movie from the character, but Feige stated that Civil War is "very much, in a certain way, the completion of a Captain America trilogy." He also made the claim that when it'll be... Read More This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |
Watch: Matt Damon Recreates His Movie Career in 8 Minutes, But He Forgot His Best Scene Posted: 30 Sep 2015 07:30 PM PDT This thing that James Corden does where he invites famous celebs with big, memorable filmographies to recreate their entire careers in eight minutes is pretty genius. Not just because it's fun watching these folks briefly inhabit their old roles, but also because it's a tremendous feat to pull off in such a short amount of time with costume changes and physical sets and the whole what-to-do. Corden's latest bit stars Matt Damon -- and in the span of eight minutes, they take us through a slew of Damon movies. From School Ties to Good Will Hunting to Ocean's 11 to Rounders to The Martian, if it's a popular Matt Damon movie, it's in here. Check it out below. Except there's one Matt Damon movie that's not in here, and it might feature... Read More This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |
How 'Green Room' Shows Us a Side of Patrick Stewart We've Never Seen Before Posted: 30 Sep 2015 06:00 PM PDT In a recent interview on Marc Maron's WTF podcast, Sir Patrick Stewart got brutally honest. He doesn't sound bitter about his career-defining role on Star Trek: The Next Generation, but he does share an anecdote about seeking out a role in a small film and being turned down because they didn't want "Jean-Luc Picard" in their film. For an actor as talented and respected as Stewart, who cut his teeth in the Royal Shakespeare Company before he began captaining the USS Enterprise, that's got to hurt. Here's a powerful actor, a man whose work on the stage has earned him countless accolades, unable to land a role despite his worldwide fame. Even his other big role, Professor Charles Xavier in the X-Men movies, leans heavily on his popular TV image -- that... Read More This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |

George R.R. Martin Says a 'Game of Thrones' Movie Is Actually Happening Posted: 30 Sep 2015 03:00 PM PDT When people talk about how TV shows have started to rival feature film productions, they're largely talking about HBO's Game of Thrones. The fantasy series has got castles and dragons, giants and direwolves, huge battles and killer visual effects. Basically, it delivers on the small screen what everyone used to only associate with the big screen. Because of that there's often been talk about what would happen if HBO made an actual Game of Thrones movie. The network is certainly no stranger to continuing shows in theatrical movies (Entourage, Borat, Sex and the City), and they've already shown episodes in IMAX. It's a natural next step for the show that's already taken so many next steps, and according to Game of Thrones creator George R.R. Martin, it's...
