6 of Our Favorite Women in Don Draper's Life Posted: The incredible show "Mad Men" ended almost two months ago and, honestly, I think I'm going through withdrawal. The show, filled with domestic tensions and drama in every episode, followed the life of the charming, powerful, mysterious Don Draper. Right from the beginning of the show, it's obvious that Draper is far from faithful to the women in his life. Within the seven seasons of the show, he hooks up with countless women, and usually during a time when he is already married. Now, I'm not going to list every single woman Draper ever hooked up with (this is an article, not a novel), but here are some of the more memorable ones. 1. Betty Draper/Betty Francis Obviously, it would be an injustice if Betty wasn't leading this list. She is Don's first wife, and the mother to his children. While married to Don, she was deeply unhappy what with having to be the perfect American house-wife and dealing with Don's secrets and lies. At the start of the show, I loved Betty. She was loyal to Don, decent to her children, and always looked perfect from head to toe. As the show continues, it becomes obvious that she is moody, cruel to her children, and overall childish in the way she acts. In the end she leaves Don (which was the best thing for both of them) and she ends up marrying Henry Francis and finds happiness with him. 2. Rachel Menken Rachel is probably in my top two favorites of all the women Don has been with. She is beautiful, independent, and runs a Jewish department store. She also displays more levelheadedness and strength than most of the other women Don was with by always thinking logically about their relationship. She knew nothing real could ever happen because he was married, and when he suggested they should run away together she said no. Her life, career, and family were more important to her. 3. Suzanne Farrell Suzanne is the other of my top two women on this list. I loved her character, although her ending was disappointing. Suzanne is the sweet, cheerful schoolteacher of Don's children. Although she denies his advances at the beginning of their relationship, she eventually gave in to Don's aggressive charms. They see each other for a while, and she ends up truly caring for Don. Their ending was abrupt, however, when Betty finally confronts Don while Suzanne waits in the car for him until dark. She finally leaves the car and with that, their relationship ended. 4. Faye Miller Faye worked with Don and his company. She was smart, and knew how to talk to people. After working together for a while, they began dating. Their relationship was one of the more mature and trusting ones in the series. She believes in him and cares for him, but inevitably has her heart broken by way of a phone call from Don telling her he was engaged to his secretary. 5. Megan Draper Megan is the young, beautiful, spirited secretary-turned-wife of Don Draper. After seeing each other for a short while, Don abruptly proposes to her in California and she accepts. Their marriage seems strong towards the beginning, but deteriorates quickly. Megan leaves advertising to pursue acting, Don starts cheating on her, and Megan ends up moving to California for her career. She was no match for Don Draper, and seems to be in over her head dealing with Don's temper, his children, and his lack of understanding towards her decision to become an actress. 6. Sylvia Rosen Sylvia is Don and Megan's neighbor, and the first woman that we know of whom he cheated on Megan with. Despite her cheating on her husband (a man who considers Don a friend), Sylvia is constantly conflicted with her feelings for Don and her strong sense of right and wrong. She ends their relationship for a while, which is when we learn how much Don has come to rely on her affections. He is distraught without her, and stands outside her door all night smoking. They see each other one more time after that, but Don's daughter Sally walks in on them, ending Sylvia and Don's relationship and seriously damaging his with Sally. The Best Cosplay Looks From 2015 Comic-Con Posted: Every year when Comic-Con rolls around, one of the biggest things is the epic commitment people make to cosplaying. Some people paint their entire body, some people make their costumes out of literal metal, and some people turn it into a group affair. Here are the most awesome cosplayers from 2015 Comic-Con. SDCC: 6 Perfect Bill Murray Moments From His First Comic-Con Posted: Bill Murray attended his first-ever Comic-Con on Thursday, and what the actor lacked in experience at the fan fest, he more than made up for in hilarious responses and general Bill Murray-ness (read: awesomeness). Murray, who sat on a panel promoting his upcoming comedy "Rock the Kasbah," charmed the audience with tales from his long and varied career and witty comebacks to routine questions. Below, we've collected some of our favorite moments from his appearance at SDCC (including a run-in with a certain hilarious-in-her-own-right Oscar winner and fellow SDCC panelist). - He revealed his Comic-Con breakfast of champions: "We started this morning with bagels and then some tequila." - Asked which of his many roles is his favorite, he alludes to "Ghostbusters" (which is the correct answer, by the way): "Once upon a time, I did save the city of New York, and I had the coolest damn car to drive around Manhattan." - Addressing the rumor that he was once up for the role of Han Solo in 1977's "Star Wars," Murray quips that he's aiming for a part in the just-announced Han Solo spinoff flick: "I don't know if I was up for the role of Han Solo, I don't remember. But I am working out now in hopes of getting this new thing, though. Just a lot of swimming and pilates, and I'm really going to work hard at it." - He pledged his love for Miley Cyrus, who he worked with on his upcoming, Sofia Coppola-directed Christmas special: "I'm gonna say this officially: Miley Cyrus is really f--king good. She can really sing. I thought she was a knucklehead, funny girl. She can really sing and she floored everybody. I don't want to hear anymore bad rap for Miley Cyrus. ... She's a pro." - Murray insisted that he's not intimidating to work with -- though he does have one odd on-set quirk: "I go to work with a knife strapped to my leg; it means people will know their lines." - And finally, Murray bumped into none other than Jennifer Lawrence backstage, as he was leaving his "Rock the Kasbah" panel and she was headed to the "Hunger Games: Mockingjay -- Part 2" panel, leaving fans of both with this wonderful photo of their meeting: Here's hoping Murray's first Comic-Con will be his first of many. SDCC: Watch the 'Hunger Games' Cast's Mockingjay Whistle Fail Posted: Not everyone is adept at whistling, and that apparently goes for the entire cast of "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay -- Part 2" -- even when they're trying to whistle a tune from their own movie. During the "Mockingjay" panel at San Diego Comic-Con on Thursday, castmates Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, and Liam Hemsworth all tried -- and adorably, hilariously failed -- to replicate the series's iconic Mockingjay whistle tone. But the trio, and the rest of their castmates on the panel, just could not nail the four-note melody, which was memorably used by Rue and Katniss in the first film, and brought back throughout the rest of the series as a Mockingjay rallying cry of sorts. In video of the incident uploaded by Screen Crush, the actors all try numerous times to get the whistle down right, but to no avail. At one point, Hutcherson imitates crickets, which panel moderator Conan O'Brien joked was a frequent sound during his stand-up routines. Hemsworth comes closest to whistling an actual song, but as Vulture reporter Kyle Buchanan noted on Twitter, it just sounded like the "X-Files" theme. Still in the science fiction genre, still not quite right. Check out the hilarious video below, and try not to get too sad when you realize that this is the last "Hunger Games" panel at Comic-Con ever. 8 TV Shows That Practically Got Us Through Puberty Posted: Growing up is hard, man. But you know what makes it a tad bit easier? Watching some other people do it on TV. Puberty might be strangest, most confusing time of our lives and those Middle School and Junior High years are rough for just about anyone. Thankfully, shows like "The Wonder Years" featured characters navigating pretty much the exact same feelings and problems and made us feel less alone in the pre-adolescent struggle. Even though Daniel Stern didn't narrate our inner pre-teen monologue, here are 8 TV shows that we related to in a major way during those formative, pubescent days of yesteryear. Alison Sudol Lands Key Role in 'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them' Posted: The ensemble of upcoming "Harry Potter" spinoff "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" is shaping up nicely, with another key role cast. Variety reports that actress Alison Sudol has landed the part of Queenie, and will make her feature debut in "Fantastic Beasts." Sudol, known more for her music as part of the band A Fine Frenzy, has been making waves on the small screen in recent months, thanks to appearances on shows such as "Transparent" and "Dig." Now, Sudol will star alongside Katherine Waterston (who just nabbed the part of main love interest Tina) as a pair of sisters living in New York City who meet magizoologist Newt Scamander on his quest to document magical species across the globe for the film's titular textbook. Oscar winner Eddie Redmayne is playing Scamander in the story, set some 70 years before the events of "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone." According to Variety's report, Sudol and Waterston both tested for the part of Queenie, before Waterston was tapped to play Tina instead. They both beat out a bevvy of actresses vying for the roles. Another interesting beat from Variety's story is that an additional main male role still needs to be cast, and two high-profile actors are currently in contention. Both Josh Gad and John Krasinski are reportedly in the mix to play a character called Jacob, and producers are expected to make a decision in the next few days. Combine this stellar ensemble with the intrigue over the location of the American Hogwarts, and the existing magic of "Potter," and "Fantastic Beasts" definitely has the potential to live up to its superlative title. We can't wait. "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" is due in theaters on November 18, 2016. 'Gotham' Star Cameron Monaghan Fuels Joker Fire in New Photo Posted: "Gotham" bosses have yet to say with 100 percent certainty whether or not actor Cameron Monaghan is playing classic Batman villain The Joker, but that hasn't stopped plenty of fan speculation about the possibility. Now, Monaghan himself is stoking the flames, too. In a recent, cryptic Instagram post captioned only with the show's title, Monaghan posed in front of a police lineup background. A wide, Joker-esque grin is plastered across his sinister-looking face in the creepy, black and white-filtered photo. It certainly seems like Monaghan is pointing to his character, Jerome, winding up as The Joker in season two of the hit Fox show, though of course, producers aren't saying. In fact, showrunner Bruno Heller has stopped just short of tapping the actor as the clown prince of crime, explaining to The Hollywood Reporter in an interview earlier this year that Jerome would eventually lead to the introduction of the villain that viewers have seen before. "We're going to find out how the hell Jerome, the proto-Joker we met earlier in this season, connects with the Joker as people known him," Heller told THR. "That's the big focus of the beginning of the second season. We're going to tell the story of how the Joker came to be." Season two of "Gotham" premieres on Fox on September 21. Paul Rudd Is an Ant on the Run in This Exclusive 'Ant-Man' Clip Posted: The dance floor is a dangerous place -- especially if you're the size of an ant, as Paul Rudd is in this exclusive clip from Marvel's "Ant-Man." Rudd's petty thief Scott Lang is wearing the suit he stole from Dr. Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), and he's discovering just how tough life is when you're tiny. His first challenge on his wild, ant-sized adventure? A record player. Scott tries to hang on as the record spins and spins and spins ... but it throws him out into the dance floor, where every stomp, twirl, and twerk could squash him out of existence. And even when he manages to evade all of those giant feet, he's thrown into a completely new setting with an even more dangerous foe -- a vacuum cleaner! It's an exhilarating sequence that gives us a taste of how much fun "Ant-Man" might be. Seeing everyday things, like plastic cups and Lego, from the prospective of an ant is pretty impressive. And the enemies are not so much aliens and monsters, but innocuous stuff, like a sharp record needle or -- as seen in this earlier clip from the movie -- a bathtub. "Ant-Man" opens in theaters July 17. Want more stuff like this? Like us on Facebook. This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |
#TBT: Ryan Reynolds Through the Years Posted: The adorable Ryan Reynolds has been acting since he was a kid, charming audiences from the moment he appeared in the "Sabrina the Teenage Witch" movie back in 1996. (Yes, we've seen it and it is glorious.) The actor got his big break in "Van Wilder," and has taken on indies and blockbusters throughout his career so far. Now he's starring in "Self/less," which hits theaters Friday, July 10. Let's take a look back this Canadian treasure through the years. First 'Sherlock' Christmas Special Image Reveals the Past Is Present Posted: My dear Watson, what a mustache you have! BBC One released the first official photo from the upcoming "Sherlock" Christmas special, which shows stars Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman looking dapper in Victorian-era clothes. Rumblings about the time period of the special began when the actors were spotted in these outfits while filming, and co-creator Steven Moffat confirmed to Entertainment Weekly that the 90-minute episode would be a one-off set in the late 1800s. "The special is its own thing," he said. "It's not part of the run of three episodes. So we had this to do it - as we could hardly conceal - it's Victorian. [Co-creator Mark Gatiss] and me, we wanted to do this, but it had to be a special, it had to be separate entity on its own. It's kind of in its own little bubble." It's unclear if the special will have any tie back to the modern-day series - maybe Sherlock is time-traveling in his mind palace? Or this is some kind of "ghosts of Christmas past" thing? In any case, it's been a long, long wait for "Sherlock" fans (season 3 aired on PBS in late January 2014). Only five more months to go! Want more stuff like this? Like us on Facebook. 22 Reasons Why Tom Hanks Is a National Treasure Posted: Tom Hanks may be a Hollywood legend, but he is also one of the most humble celebrities in the business. The man loves to make others laugh and sometimes goes out of his way to do it. Thanks, T. Hanks.

Best of Late Night TV: Conan O'Brien's Mad Max Tribute Posted: Conan O'Brien is officially our favorite person ever (actually, was this ever up for debate?). The Late Night host and his side-kick, Andy Richter, hit up San Diego Comic-Con in true style -- by recreating "Mad Max: Fury Road" for the show's opening segment. Obviously, Conan starred as The Doof Warrior, who's shredding session was interrupted by Andy getting lost on the way to San Diego. Understandable. Check out the clip below.
