Recap of 'Pretty Little Liars' Season 6 Episode 1: A Sixth Little Liar?! Posted: Breaking news: "Pretty Little Liars" has returned to our lives, and now we can get back to the important task of wondering why the Rosewood Police Force is so terrible at protecting teenage girls from the middle-aged men who stalk them. Check out Moviefone's recap below and find out if the liars managed to get out of A's lair alive! Give A Warm Welcome To Pretty Little Liar Number 6 Last time we left the liars, they were locked in a pen after finding out that A is some dude named Charles with a fetish for torturing teens. Just another day in Rosewood! This week, the liars spend most of their time contemplating drinking their own pee while living #ThatPenLyfe, until they wander inside Charles' lair and accidentally get asphyxiated by some gas, as ya do. The ladies wake up naked in a morgue, and then Mona makes a huge mistake: she stages a mini rebellion against A and gets put in The Hole. Because yes, of course Charles is the kind of guy to own a cavernous hole. And speaking of caverns, there's a mysterious blonde trapped in a cell next to the liars -- and judging from her wall of chalk markings she's been there for years. Good God, someone save small town Pennsylvania from itself. A Month Later: Ali Is Out of Jail! Flash-forward a month and not much has changed in Rosewood. Sure, Ali's out of jail and Ezra's growing facial hair (why), but the police department is still its good ol' completely inept self. This useless group of armed and totally un-dangerous cops decide it's probably a good idea to use Ali to lure Andrew Campbell (the prime suspect in the liars' kidnapping), however Ali outsmarts them and teams up with Ezra, Caleb and Toby to find her friends. So basically, a bunch of teens (plus one teen-obsessed "author" [cough, Ezra]) outswit an entire police force. Just saying. The plan is simple: Ali wanders through the woods while Caleb and Ezra follow her from a distance, and she's eventually led to A's lair. What could go wrong? Other than literally everything. While Ali struts around the backwoods, the liars realize that A is prepping for her arrival -- which means Mona's as good as dead. Fortunately, Spencer discovers that Charles' last name is DiLaurentis, and she hatches a plan to break into his top-secret vault in the hopes of gaining a little leverage. Once inside, the liars find all kinds of creepy things from their captor's life -- including home movies of Ali as a little girl with two older brothers. That's right, two. Looks like Jason has a completely deranged and sadistic top-secret twin who has a creepy obsession with his sister's BFFs! The Liars Reunite With The Boyfriends Don't worry, guys, the liars casually set themselves on fire this week -- but it turned out for the best. Thanks to Spencer deciding she should probably burn all of Charles' belongings to get his attention, this hoodie-clad dude is forced to pull the fire alarm -- giving the liars a great opportunity to escape. And yes, they rescue Mona from her hole. Meanwhile, Ali, Ezra and Caleb are wandering around the woods because it's literally all they do, and Ezra's like "HARK, I see smoke" (in so many words). This former stalker opens a random door and the liars come pouring out -- straight into their boyfriends arms! What a happy ending. Of course, we can't forget about the other random that A had trapped in his lair -- turns out her name is Sarah Harvey, and she went missing around the same time Ali did! Burning Questions: But seriously, who is Charles DiLaurentis and why is he such a lunatic? What is Sarah Harvey going to reveal about Charles once she's had, like, twenty years of PTSD therapy? Are the liars going to be mentally stable after being trapped in a lair for a month? How does Andrew Campbell feature in A's plan? What's the deal with this guy? Season 5 of 'Arrested Development' Is Coming in 2016 Posted: Brian Grazer just can't stop talking about "Arrested Development," and this time, the producer said that not only were new episodes in the works, but they could hit Netflix as soon as next summer. Much like he did with the first bit of "Arrested" season five intel, which he dropped back in April, Grazer made the announcement on a podcast. While speaking with The Adam Corolla Show, Grazer revealed that production on the 17 new episodes was tentatively scheduled to start in January or February of 2016, with the season debuting sometime during the summer, approximately four months after filming. That's some oddly specific info for a series that hasn't been mentioned by Netflix itself in ages, but if anyone involved with "Arrested" would know its status, it's Grazer, who co-produces the show with Ron Howard (who also narrates). Here's what Grazer told Corolla:

Clint Eastwood to Direct Biopic of Capt. Sully Sullenberger Posted: Fresh off his take on the life of Chris Kyle in "American Sniper," director Clint Eastwood will tackle another high-profile American. The Hollywood Reporter writes that Eastwood will follow up his Oscar-nominated film with a biopic centered around Capt. Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger. In January 2009, Sullenberger piloted U.S. Airways Flight 1549, which experienced engine failure shortly after takeoff from New York City's LaGuardia Aiport. Sullenberger was able to land the plane safely in the waters of the Hudson River, and his quick thinking -- and avoidance of any injury to plane's 155 passengers -- landed him international fame and the admiration. Sullenberger parlayed that limelight into a book deal, and in 2010 released "Highest Duty: My Search for What Really Matters," which he co-authored with the late Jeffrey Zaslow. "Highest Duty" serves as the inspiration for Eastwood's as-yet-untitled biopic, with screenwriter Todd Komarnicki penning the script. "I am very glad my story is in the hands of gifted storyteller and filmmaker Clint Eastwood, and veteran producers Allyn Stewart and Frank Marshall. The project could not have found a better home than Warner Bros. Pictures. This is truly a dream team," said Sullenberger in a statement. "On the heels of [Eastwood's] extraordinary work in 'American Sniper,' it is tremendously exciting to see him explore the life of another captivating true-life hero," added Warner Bros. exec Greg Silverman. No word yet on when production is expected to begin. Stay tuned. The 'Entourage' Cast Shows Off Their Best Ari Gold Impressions Posted: The cast of "Entourage" sat down with us to reveal which celebrity has left them completely starstruck and what the craziest thing they've ever done for love is. But, the best part of the interview is seeing the entire cast do their best Jeremy Piven (as Ari Gold) impression. Prepare to LOL. Bob Saget Isn't Mad at the Olsens for Skipping 'Fuller House' Posted: "Full House" fans were disappointed when Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen announced that they would not return for upcoming Netflix spinoff series "Fuller House," but one star of the show says he doesn't blame the former actresses for their decision. In an interview with E! News, Bob Saget -- who only recently officially joined the show himself -- said that he wasn't mad at the twins for bowing out of the reunion. "They're not doing it and I'm just happy that they're happy," Saget told E!. "I want my friends to do what they want to do...They have a whole different creative life now." That creative life includes their uber-successful fashion brand, The Row, and fragrance line, Elizabeth and James. The Olsens cited their immersion in the fashion industry as the reason why they had decided to give up on acting -- and they apparently weren't going to change their mind, even for their former television family. But while Michelle Tanner's Uncle Jesse initially had some harsh words for the twins (he's since come around), Saget didn't share that sentiment at all. As he explained to E!, he's still close with the sisters, and plans on visiting them during an upcoming trip to New York City. "I love them," Saget told the site, in a touching moment that could have been cut straight from a classic "Full House" episode. (Cue a chorus of "Awwww"s and some cheesy background music.) Just about everyone else from "Full House" will be back for "Fuller," including John Stamos, Lori Loughlin, Dave Coulier, Candace Cameron Bure, Jodi Sweetin, and Andrea Barber. The show is set to premiere on Netflix sometime in 2016. [via: E! News] Photo credit: Getty Images This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter Opening Hollywood Location in 2016 Posted: The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is expanding: The Universal Studios attraction will open an outpost in Hollywood beginning in spring 2016. The Los Angeles location follows the attraction's booming success in Orlando, where it features two distinct locales from the "Harry Potter" universe: Hogsmeade, and Diagon Alley. A Hogsmeade attraction is also located at Universal Studios in Japan. So far, the Los Angeles Wizarding World of Harry Potter will only open a Hogsmeade branch, though its success could warrant further expansion of the brand. According to Variety, the new Hollywood outpost will feature the Three Broomsticks inn and the Hog's Head pub, and fan favorite beverage butterbeer will be available for purchase. Flight simulator Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey will be the main attraction, featuring what Variety calls "hyper-realistic 3D," setting itself apart from the Orlando ride. An outdoor rollercoaster, Flight of the Hippogriff, is also planned, the first such attraction at Universal Studios Hollywood. "The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios Hollywood will be a game changer in the Los Angeles market," said park president Larry Kurzweil in a statement. "We expect its arrival to set record high attendance and will have a lasting impact on L.A. and California tourism for years to come." Consider our flights to L.A. already booked. 2016 can't come soon enough. [via: Variety] Photo credit: Getty Images This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |
16 'Entourage' Cameos You (Probably) Forgot About Posted: It seems like every actor working in Hollywood with a few hours to spare appeared on an episode of "Entourage" at some point. The HBO hit had dozens of cameos and guest stars throughout its eight-season run, so if you weren't cast as a client of Ari Gold's or a Vincent Chase hook-up, apparently you were nobody in the mid-2000s. The "Entourage" movie hits theaters this week and is set to be chock-full of famous faces. Before the boys are back on the big screen, look back at some memorable (and not so memorable) cameos from "Entourage''s star-studded history. Dwayne Johnson Wants to Remake 'Big Trouble in Little China' Posted: Following the upcoming remakes of "Point Break" and "Escape from New York," another cult classic action flick is set for a second life: "Big Trouble in Little China." TheWrap reports that the remake is already deep in the works, with "San Andreas" star Dwayne Johnson spearheading the production. Johnson would star, taking over the role originated by Kurt Russell in the 1986 feature. Johnson also wants to produce the flick, which according to TheWrap is one of his favorite movies. The site also reports that screenwriters Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz ("X-Men: First Class," "Thor") have already secured a deal to pen the screenplay. "Big Trouble in Little China" centered around Jack Burton (Russell), described by TheWrap as "an all-American trucker who gets dragged into a centuries-old mystical battle in San Francisco's Chinatown." The flick, directed by horror and action legend John Carpenter, was a box office disappointment throughout its original run, but thrived on cable reruns and has since earned a cult following (and The Rock's adoration, apparently -- TheWrap notes that the remake was Johnson's idea, and he was the one who approached studio Fox about the project). Fox didn't respond to TheWrap's report. Stay tuned. [via: TheWrap] Photo credit: AFP/Getty Images This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |
The Top 10 Freddy Krueger Kills Ever Posted: Freddy Krueger has been haunting the dreams of children and adults for decades in movies like "A Nightmare on Elm Street." Disguised Channing Tatum Pranks Fans at 'Magic Mike XXL' Screening Posted: The old adage "never judge a book by its cover" came into play for a group of "Magic Mike" fans during a recent screening of the flick's sequel, when star Channing Tatum donned a disguise to prank the unsuspecting filmgoers. In a video posted to his Facebook page in support of an Omaze campaign, Tatum sat in a makeup chair and transformed into "Scott," a balding, bearded, bespectacled marketing rep for studio Warner Bros. Adopting a southern drawl, Tatum asked attendees at a "Magic Mike XXL" screening a series of ridiculous questions about the first flick, ranging from which parts they wished had been in 3D ("The pelvic thrusting," one woman eagerly replied) to if they actually cared about the story (a resounding "no"). Fans were obviously a bit skeptical of his queries (a question about "Magic Mike"'s accuracy vs. real male strippers produced some particularly amusing responses), but were quickly won over when the marketer promised attendees a "3D experience." That experience morphed into an actual striptease performed by a gaggle of gorgeous guys, who pulled Scott up onstage to unmask Tatum. Check out the video below, which is worth it for the crowd's over-the-top enthusiasm as Tatum's ruse is uncovered. (A special shout-out to hyperbolic woman who said that after Tatum twerked on her, she "pretty much reached peak life.")

Pixar's 'The Good Dinosaur' Teaser Trailer Is Finally Here Posted: This marks the first year that Pixar will release two films, but while we've seen a lot of "Inside Out" (in theaters June 19), we've hardly gotten a glimpse at "The Good Dinosaur," coming this fall. Well, finally, Pixar has released a teaser trailer (to Yahoo Movies). It's brief, as most teasers are - barely longer than a minute - and shows very little of the actual movie. An asteroid hurtles through space, seemingly on a crash course with Earth ... until it misses. Down on the planet, a group of dinosaurs peer curiously at the distant meteor, then resume their normal activities. The premise of the movie is that a young dinosaur named Arlo embarks on a journey after a traumatic family event with an unlikely companion - a human boy. "The Good Dinosaur" has a turbulent history - it's been in the works for years, and has switched directors. Then again, that's kind of par for the course with Pixar. "The Good Dinosaur" opens in theaters November 25. Want more stuff like this? Like us on Facebook. This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |
15 Best Summer Movies of the Last 15 Years Posted: We're a month into one of the biggest summers at the movies ever, and "Mad Max: Fury Road" has emerged as one of the season's best films. Every year, Hollywood rolls out its summer slate packed with popcorn entertainment, but only a few earn "Best Ever" status. As Summer 2015 continues at the box office, we look back at the last 15 years of summer blockbusters (in order of release) to find the films that ruled over the competition. The 21 Most Ridiculous Things Ever Worn on 'Pretty Little Liars' Posted: In "Pretty Little Liars," four best friends are stalked, blackmailed, and harassed by the mysterious A -- or at this point, a bunch of different As. So while we aren't always expecting everything to be super realistic, sometimes the show goes over the line, especially when it comes to fashion. We aren't sure just how many birds have died for Aria's accessories, but the number is probably pretty high. These are the most ridiculous things Hanna, Aria, Spencer, and Emily have worn since season one of "Pretty Little Liars." This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |
'Homeland' Adds 4 New Cast Members, Including Carrie's Boyfriend Posted: Carrie Mathison might be estranged from the CIA and mentor Saul, but at least she's got a new boyfriend! "Homeland" is adding four major new characters to season 5, including Miranda Otto as a CIA station chief and Alexander Fehling ("Inglourious Basterds") as a love interest for Claire Danes. Season 5 picks up two years after the Carrie's disastrous tenure in Islamabad. Disillusioned, she's quit the CIA and working for a private security firm. The new faces include Otto as Allison Carr, the Berlin station chief; Fehling as Jonas Happich, a lawyer for the Düring Foundation; Sebastian Koch ("The Lives of Others"), a German philanthropist and Carrie's boss; and Sarah Sokolovic ("Cold Comes the Night") as an American journalist who works for the Düring Foundation. Filming for the Showtime series begins this week, and alongside the new cast members, Mandy Patinkin, Rupert Friend, and F. Murray Abraham all reprise their roles alongside Danes. "Homeland" is set to return for its fifth season this September. Want more stuff like this? Like us on Facebook. This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |
Posted: If you're like us and value your sleep, you probably nodded off into your Ambien dreamland before the party started on post-prime time TV. Don't worry; we've got you covered. Here's the best of what happened last night on late night. The late night world was on repeats last week, but everyone (except "Late Show," alas) is back this week. Melissa McCarthy was on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" and they played "Random Picture Word Association." They took turns looking at random pictures and yelled out the first words that came to mind. Jimmy gave his "Ew!" to mayo. He also had the best response to the hot dog photo. Here's Ed Sheeran on "The Tonight Show," giving his trademark soothing sound to dark heavy metal songs and hardcore rap. It's pretty funny -- and an album like that would probably sell well. Jeremy Piven was on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" and he talked about "Entourage," how he's not quite the same as Ari Gold, and confirmed/denied certain celebrity cameos. Apparently "Entourage" is President Obama's favorite TV show. Jimmy couldn't resist getting into the Kim Kardashian/Kanye West baby game, and he and Guillermo played #BabyNameBingo to help them pick a name for Baby No. 2. Sen. Bernie Sanders was on "Late Night with Seth Meyers" and talked about voting against the Freedom Act. It's better than the Patriot Act, he said, but doesn't go far enough to protect our civil liberties. Seth also weighed in on Bruce Jenner's transition into Caitlyn Jenner. He didn't joke about it, he just shared that he's so happy that we live in a time that this is happening. Joel McHale was on "Conan" and talked about making a "Community" movie. He said he thinks they will do one if Dan Harmon writes the script. Joel and Conan O'Brien bonded over being canceled by NBC and Joel said when Yahoo bought them it was a great season with no notes and commercials. Jake Tapper was also on "Conan" and talked about being burned by Hilary Clinton. "It was a sick Clinton burn." Conan said she dropped the mic right after that. It's not a bad diss, actually. Conan also took on the Kardashians and Caitlyn Jenner in his monologue. He kept to trend and mocked Kim and Kanye but stayed respectful of Caitlyn. Hannah Simone, Pete Holmes, Noel Gallagher were on "The Late Late Show with James Corden." Here's the group talking about food and sex: And here's James making an argument for a "Histo-REMIX" app, combining electronic dance music with famous speeches. Want more stuff like this?
