Which Iconic Villain Are You Like When You're Angry? Posted: We all get a little angry sometimes. Actually, some us get very angry sometimes. Like, angry to the point where we turn into a completely different person (think Bruce Banner turning into the Hulk, but evil). So, do you become as vile as Voldemort? As sinister as Scar? As devious as Darth Vader? What, you don't know? Luckily, you can take the quiz below and, after 10 easy questions, find out exactly who your rage-fueled doppelgänger is. 'The Office': Where Are They Now? Posted: The adorable Mindy Kaling got her big break as an original cast member (and writer) on NBC's beloved "The Office," and since then she's gone on to create and star in her own TV show, "The Mindy Project." And now the former Ms. Kelly Kapoor can be heard as the voice of Disgust in Pixar's highly-anticipated film "Inside Out." Mindy's not the only "Office" alum who has found huge success since the show wrapped. We all know Steve Carell is one of Hollywood's most sought-after comedic leading men and Ellie Kemper's the star of Netflix fave "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt," but perhaps you'd like to catch up with more actors who brought your favorite Dunder Mifflin characters to life. Find out what the hilarious cast of "The Office" is up to now. Slideshow and additional reporting by Gary Susman This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |
Emma Stone Reveals Why She Said 'No' to the All-Female 'Ghostbusters' Posted: While we LOVE the cast of the upcoming all-female "Ghostbusters" movie, we still are kind of bummed that Emma Stone decided not to join the franchise. Check out what made her say no to the highly anticipated reboot. This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |
Zookeepers Recreate Chris Pratt's 'Jurassic World' Raptor Skills, Spawn Hilarious Meme Posted: Think taming velociraptors at Jurassic World is hard? Clearly, Chris Pratt's raptor handler, Owen, has never tried to wrangle a group of walruses. That latter feat -- as well as a slew of other copycats -- has made headlines in recent days thanks to a new meme inspired by the massively popular "Jurassic Park" sequel. #Prattkeeping pokes fun at the scene in which Owen calms a group of ravenous raptors using only raised arms and his voice, subduing the creatures long enough to let a fallen coworker escape from the hungry predators. Zookeepers from across the globe have taken up the challenge to soothe their own beasts in a similar manner, some donning vests like Owen's and all adopting the same wide-legged, wide-armed stance, surrounded by fauna of all shapes and sizes. The aforementioned walruses, as well as vultures, sloths, spiders, capybaras, and many more have all joined in the fun. (Scroll through the #Prattkeeping stream on Twitter to get a full taste of the awesomeness.) As Tumblr user Feminerds (who shared the original walrus image, and is friends with the pictured keeper) said of the meme, "You guys, this is the best." We couldn't agree more. Check out a few of our favorites below. [h/t Yahoo!] Photo credit: Universal, Feminerds This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |
Rick Ducommun, Star of 'The 'Burbs' and 'Die Hard,' Dies at 62 Posted: Canadian character actor Rick Ducommun, who starred in a wide range of beloved films throughout the '80s and '90s, has died. He was 62. Ducommun had his breakout role in 1989's "The 'Burbs" opposite Tom Hanks, and director Joe Dante tweeted out his condolences on Thursday. Dante said that the late actor was a virtually unknown stand-up comic when he auditioned for the dark comedy, but "knocked it out of the park," beating out more established stars like Rick Moranis for the part. "Lots of the funniest stuff he says was totally ad libbed," Dante wrote, adding that Ducommun was "A very funny guy" who was "Too young to go." In addition to that cult classic, Ducommun also had small roles in many movies including "Gremlins 2: The New Batch" (another collaboration with Dante), Bill Murray classic "Groundhog Day," "Die Hard," "Little Monsters," "The Hunt for Red October," "The Last Boy Scout," "Last Action Hero," "Blank Check," and "Scary Movie" (he played Anna Faris's father). He also worked steadily on television, appearing on "The Wayans Bros." sitcom, "Murphy Brown," "Moonlighting," and "NYPD Blue," among others. Ducommun died on June 12 in Vancouver, surrounded by family. His official Twitter account also shared the news, writing that Ducommun was a "beloved comedian, actor, family man, and all around amazing guy." TV Detectives From Different Shows Who Should Totally Be Partners Posted: What's a TV detective without a partner who challenges them, makes them better professionally, brings new expertise to the table, and fulfills their lives in ways they never knew they needed? Whether it's a wacky buddy cop dynamic or a tense match-up rife with complex conflict, the crime-solving duo has become one of the most entertaining TV genres around. We've come to know many small-screen sleuths over the years, and we have to say that most of them have been paired with near-perfect partners. But what if we switched things up a bit? Here are 9 pairs of TV detectives we would totally tune in to watch together, even though they hail from completely different series. New 'Ghostbusters' Reboot Details Emerge as Filming Begins Posted: "Ghostbusters" has officially begun production in Boston this week, and local media has the scoop on some new details about the latest entry in the franchise. As stars Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Leslie Jones, and Kate McKinnon get ready to shoot their scenes, the Boston Herald reports that they have some intel on a few key plot points. The Herald writes: That coincides with previous reports that outline the characters in the flick as (per The Dissolve) "Erin Gabler, an academic on the tenure track at Columbia; Abby Bergman, who pursues ghosts for a living, with a focus on parapsychology; Jillian, Abby's ghost-hunting partner; and Patty, an MTA employee who comes across the main ghost." So it seems Wiig will play Erin and McCarthy will play Abby; we're betting McKinnon is Jillian and Jones is Patty, though of course, no official casting breakdown has been released just yet. Other juicy bits from the Herald's report include the fact that green ghost Slimer will return (something director Paul Feig alluded to on Twitter when he announced the beginning of filming), and that filmmakers are desperately trying to work out a deal for original 'busters Dan Aykroyd and Bill Murray to cameo. "They are negotiating," a source told the Herald, though the notoriously difficult-to-reach Murray has so far been elusive. (Considering Murray was an early champion of McCarthy and Wiig joining the "Ghostbusters" reboot, we think it's only right that he join in on the fun, too.) "Ghostbusters" is currently shooting in Boston, and co-stars Cecily Strong and Chris Hemsworth. It's due in theaters on July 22, 2016. Vince Gilligan Talks 'Better Call Saul' Season 2, 'X-Files' Reboot, and More Posted: Writer/producer Vince Gilligan has pulled off the seemingly impossible -- twice! First, he managed to craft a "Breaking Bad" finale that somehow left every member of the show's rabid fanbase completely satisfied. Then, he found an unorthodox way back into the world he created, scoring yet again with the prequel series "Better Call Saul." As awards and nominations for the latter series begin to rack up in the walk-up to the Emmys, Moviefone grabbed a quick check-in with Gilligan to talk about the success of "Better Call Saul," get a taste of his second season plans, hear his thoughts on the return of "The X-Files" (the series that gave him his big break), and his reaction to that other massive AMC series finale, "Mad Men." Moviefone: Congratulations for all the nominations coming in for "Better Call Saul." What has it meant to you that the audience has embraced the show and how different its left-of-center take on the "Breaking Bad" world is? Vince Gilligan: It's wonderful because we didn't know if it would succeed at all! We thought it might be something that people would say, "Ah, I've seen enough of this world." Maybe it's just me, but I always expect failure, not success -- so the fact that people seem to be embracing the show and liking it, and certainly Bob Odenkirk's work and Jonathan Banks's work, all the wonderful actors we have, I think, merits that. But I'm too close to it. I'm biased. But I'm so happy to hear the people are loving it. I couldn't be happier. Can you put anything out into the universe about what you're thinking for the second season? Well, it continues to be Jimmy's journey for Jimmy McGill to Saul Goodman. What to say about it? We have found Jimmy is just as interesting to us in the writers' room as Saul ever was. And so I'll say this: I'll be a little coy here, but we're in no particular hurry to get rid of Jimmy and go strictly to Saul. So maybe that's a little handout. "The X-Files," your old home base, is coming back. Are you just like the rest of us, waiting to see what they do with the revival, or do you have an inside track? I know nothing about what they're doing. I would love to be a part of it. I was very generously offered to be a part of it by my wonderful former employer, Chris Carter, and it broke my heart to say I wasn't able to do it because I'm so busy on "Better Call Saul." I really can't do more than one thing at once. I am very sorry I won't be a part of it, but you better believe I'll be watching it as a fan because I was a fan of the "X-Files" before I ever was a part of it! I was a huge fan. I watched it from the very first episode, in 1993. And I couldn't be happier that they're rebooting. I can't wait to see it. As someone who played a huge part in one of the most acclaimed and universally loved series finales of all time, what did you think of the last episode of "Mad Men"? Did you watch it? "Mad Men" was great! I definitely watched it. Matt Weiner just did a wonderful job. I love all those actors -- I know pretty much all of them. They're all great people. I know a lot of the crew on that show. And of course, I know Matt very well, and he really crushed it. I thought that ending was fantastic, going to the classic Coca Cola commercial that everybody knows and loves; I thought they really brought it. And it was a fitting and wonderful end to a history-making TV series. This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |
Arnold Schwarzenegger in Terminator Costume Pulls Awesome Prank on Fans Posted: The Terminator is back - to scare unsuspecting fans! Arnold Schwarzenegger dressed up as his famous character - leather jacket, sunglasses, facial opening revealing metal endoskeleton - to prank people in Hollywood. He stood motionless, pretending to be his own wax figure, then came to life when fans posed for pictures next to him. "He looks real," one woman marvels. "Because I am," Schwarzenegger replies as she screams and jumps away. The actor also walked down Hollywood Boulevard along with others in famous movie character costumes, like Jack Sparrow and Spider-man. He even confronted a fellow Terminator! It's pretty hilarious. Schwarzenegger did the video with Omaze to promote a charity contest in which the winner attends the premiere of "Terminator Genisys." Entries in the contest benefit After-School All-Stars. The movie, which also stars Emilia Clarke and Jason Clarke, opens in theaters July 1. Want more stuff like this? Like us on Facebook. Mireille Enos on Her 'Big, Glam' Show 'The Catch' and the 'World War Z' Sequel Posted: We'll soon be seeing Mireille Enos, the star of "The Killing," in a far more glamorous light: She stars in the upcoming Shonda Rhimes series "The Catch," which will air on ABC in early 2016. "It's a thriller. It's about con artists and a kind of cat-and-mouse end game. It's classy and exciting. I'm a forensic accountant, so I'm hunting for con artists," Enos told Moviefone on June 7th at a Tony Awards viewing party. "And then I get conned. And also, it turns out, I have something to hide as well. So there's many levels of conning going on." Chimed in husband Alan Ruck, "She's sneaky!" The "Spin City" star ruled out appearing on the series. "No, it's a big, glam show. That's not my wheelhouse. I don't go there too much." Enos says she'll "spank it up" in the wardrobe department. Say goodbye to those mousy, oversized sweaters she wore for so much of "The Killing." The chunky sweaters were, of course, a way to hide her then-pregnancy. As for the upcoming "World War Z" sequel, Enos said it "would be fun" if her character was allowed to kick some zombie ass this time around. As Ruck pointed out, "Mireille's got a black belt in Tae Kwon Do, so I think we ought to do that. Let's call Brad [Pitt]." "I did kick a zombie in the head in the car," Enos noted of the first film. She said she hasn't seen a script yet for the film, which has a June 2017 release date. Juan Antonio Bayona ("The Orphanage," "The Impossible") will direct. Po Meets His Dad in 'Kung Fu Panda 3' Trailer Posted: Po knows kung fu, but he doesn't know his dad. But that all changes in "Kung Fu Panda 3," which just dropped its first trailer today. In the DreamWorks Animation sequel, Po (Jack Black) continues his training with friends Tigress (Angelina Jolie), Monkey (Jackie Chan), Mantis (Seth Rogen), and Viper (Lucy Liu). But he faces a very different sort of challenge - meeting his long-lost father (Bryan Cranston). Reunited, father and son travel to a secret panda paradise, where Po discovers he doesn't really belong. There, he meets Mei Mei (Rebel Wilson), an overly eager female panda who's been promised to him in an arrange marriage. The trailer looks much the same as the previous two "Kung Fu Panda" movies - cute, gently funny, a little shticky. We're sure the kids will love it. "Kung Fu Panda 3" opens in theaters on Jan. 29, 2016. Want more stuff like this? Like us on Facebook. This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |
Here's an Exclusive Look at the New 'Home Alone' Storybook Posted: Chris Columbus's Christmas classic "Home Alone" is getting a whole new look. Kevin McAllister's unsupervised holiday adventure (he was forgotten by his family, remember?) has been reimagined as the colorful, lesson-filled "Home Alone: The Classic Illustrated Storybook" -- and we just happen to have an exclusive peek at some of its pages. In the preview above, you can see Kevin hanging stockings with care, coming to the amazing conclusion that he's somehow made his parents disappear, and watch one of his now-epic booby traps come to life on the page. Published by Quirk Books and illustrated by Kim Smith, "Home Alone: The Classic Illustrated Storybook" hits shelves (and e-readers) on October 20th, just in time for the holidays. 'Ray Donovan' Season 3 Trailer Is One Big Brawl Posted: Those Donovans, they aren't the establishment types. The trailer for season 3 of "Ray Donovan" demonstrates that to be true for both the titular Hollywood fixer (Liev Schreiber) and his ex-con dad (Jon Voight), as they both go about their different ways of breaking the rules. The trailer introduces the new characters played by Ian McShane and Katie Holmes for the major storyline of the season. McShane is Malcolm Finney, a billionaire movie producer who hires Ray to keep an eye on his kids while he retires and settles his affairs. Holmes is Malcolm's daughter, and a tough, cutthroat businesswoman who makes Ray her own deal - one he's mightily tempted by. The other major storyline of the season features Ray's brother, Terry (Eddie Marsan), in prison. Both Ray and his dad want to get Terry out; the question is, whose tactics will serve Terry better? Season 3 of "Ray Donovan" premieres July 12, along with "Masters of Sex." Want more stuff like this? Like us on Facebook. This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |
12 Teen Show Boyfriends That Are Actually Garbage Posted: One of the things we love about television is how easy it is to get to know a character. Even those who do bad things are layered and complex, so there's always a reason for why they're terrible to everyone around them -- and fictional boyfriends are no exception. But, no matter how much we feel for these boys, we can't deny that dating them in real life would be the worst. Here are 12 beaus from teen shows that really don't deserve our love. 11 Movies That Shamelessly Ripped Off 'Jaws' Posted: Forty years after its release (on June 20,1975), "Jaws" often takes the blame for spawning the soulless summer blockbuster, a charge that's not entirely fair, given the Steven Spielberg film's surprisingly personal artistry. But you can blame it for launching a decades-long wave of toothy imitators. It wasn't just all the shark movies, from "Open Water" to SyFy's "Sharknado" franchise. There were also films that took place far from the ocean. "Alien" got made because it was pitched as "'Jaws' in space." Lion-hunting thriller "The Ghost and the Darkness" was dubbed "'Jaws' with paws." And those are just the pedigreed imitators. What of the even more gloriously exploitative knock-offs? (And we don't just mean the three "Jaws" sequels.) In honor of Spielberg's classic celebrating its 40th anniversary this week, here are 10 of the "Jaws" This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |
Best of Late Night TV: Mindy Kaling's Thoughts on Weddings and Two James Taylors On a Seesaw Posted: If you're like us and value your sleep, you probably nodded off into your Ambien dreamland before the party started on post-prime time TV. Don't worry; we've got you covered. Here's the best of what happened last night on late night. Mindy Kaling has a lot of feelings about weddings. Basically, as a bridesmaid you're a maid in actual uniform, while groomsmen just sit around drinking beer and playing with dogs. True that, to be honest. Here are her thoughts on "Late Night with Seth Meyers:" Speaking of weddings, Adam Scott and Paul Rudd managed to get themselves kicked out of one because they flashed their man-parts during a video that was shown to the entire reception. We're traumatized just hearing this story. James Taylor visited "The Tonight Show," so naturally Jimmy Fallon dressed up as him, put him on a seesaw, and then forced him to sing "Two James Taylors On a Seesaw." There are literally no words for how incredible this is. Jessica Szohr visited "The Late Late Show" and dished on her celebrity crush: JTT. Or, for all you people that didn't grow up in the '90s, Jonathan Taylor Thomas. Get in line, friend. This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |
