Is Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson in ‘Big Trouble in Little China’? Posted: 02 Jun 2015 12:00 AM PDT Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is in talks to star in and produce a remake of John Carpenter's cult, kung fu-driven, mystical-filled classic Big Trouble in Little China. According to TW, the remake will be written by Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz (X-Men: First Class). The 1986 film starred Kurt Russell as Jack Burton, a truck driver whose life on the road takes a sudden supernatural tailspin when his best friend’s fiancee is kidnapped. Jack finds himself deep beneath San Francisco’s Chinatown, in a murky, creature-filled world ruled by Lo Pan, a 2000-year-old magician who mercilessly presides over an empire of spirits. Jon Foo and Justin Hires join fists and feet for ‘Rush Hour’ Posted: 01 Jun 2015 12:00 AM PDT Warner is making Rush Hour into a TV series. Brett Ratner (director of the original franchise) and Arthur Sarkissian will serve as executive producers, while Cougar Town’s Bill Lawrence will co-write along with Blake McCormick. Jon Foo (Tekken) will play Detective Lee, originally played by Jackie Chan. Comedian Justin Hires has been cast for the Chris Tucker role. James Lew (Big Trouble In Little China), will be serving as the series’ stunt coordinator. Updates: According to Deadline, Pysch creator/executive producer Steve Franks is signing on to serve as showrunner on the midseason CBS series Rush Hour, working alongside Bill Lawrence and Blake McCormick.
