New 'Suicide Squad' Trailer Sets Up a Villainous Rhapsody

Posted: 19 Jan 2016 11:15 PM PST

The first Suicide Squad trailer debuted during Comic-Con last summer and since then we've had to be content with a series of promotional images for a movie that will revolve around a team of superpowered individuals who are not exactly heroic in the traditional sense. Deadshot, the world's best marksman, is played by Will Smith, the most notable name in the ensemble cast. The other squad members are Harley Quinn (portrayed by Margot Robbie), Katana (Karen Fukuhara) and Captain Boomerang (Jai Courtney), along with Killer Croc (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje) and Rick Flagg (Joel Kinnaman). The team is assembled by Amanda Waller (Viola Davis) as a secret task force to handle the jobs for which the government doesn't want to claim responsibility. Among the foes they must...

'Pee-wee's Big Holiday' Teaser Harkens Back to 'Pee-wee's Big Adventure'

Posted: 19 Jan 2016 06:30 PM PST

Among the many things wrong with 1988's Big Top Pee-wee, one major disappointment is with the title character's home. In that installment, Pee-wee Herman resides in a simple farm house, and besides his secret science lab we don't see much of it. What we do see is rather bland for the character, who in 1985's Pee-wee's Big Adventure has a tricked-out home filled with Rube Goldberg-esque inventions and other fun features.  Paul Reubens, who plays the character (or is it best to call it his alter ego?), must be aiming to please fans of the earlier movie with his upcoming Netflix feature, Pee-wee's Big Holiday. Not only does the title evoke the classic Tim Burton-helmed comedy, but now the first teaser is almost entirely focused on...

The Flash and Cyborg Join the Epic 'Justice League' In Cool Concept Art

Posted: 19 Jan 2016 04:30 PM PST

DC Comics has been earning a lot of fandom on TV for a while now. Shows like Gotham, Supergirl, The Flash and Arrow are all doing quite well for themselves. Those last two are particular fan favorites as they take place in a shared universe with characters from either show crossing over periodically. There's even another Flash/Arrow spin-off premiering soon in Legends of Tomorrow. The shows are so popular, in fact, that fans are a bit mad that the DC Cinematic Universe will not be using the TV's version of characters. For example, when The Flash hits theaters on March 23, 2018, he'll be played by Ezra Miller and, assuming it doesn't get canceled by then (it probably won't), The Flash will still be played by Grant Gustin on the small screen. It's a bit...

First 'Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising' Trailer Gets Raunchy

Posted: 19 Jan 2016 01:30 PM PST

In the spring of 2014, Neighbors burst on the scene as a fresh blast of raucous comedy from producers Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg. Rogen starred with Rose Byrne as a couple with a newborn baby who must deal with an incredibly rowdy fraternity that somehow moves next door to them in their peaceful suburban neighborhood. The fraternity was led by Zac Efron and Dave Franco, who end up in a steadily escalating war of pranks with their neighbors. We're not spoiling anything to say that the movie concluded on a very satisfying note of friendship and respect. Made on a very modest budget, Neighbors was a huge smash, earning more than $270 million at the box office worldwide, so it's no surprise that a sequel was soon in the pipeline.   Neighbors 2: Sorority...

A rumor first surfaced last fall and now another report adds that the Academy Award-winning McQuarrie (The Usual Suspects, Mission: Impossible: Rogue Nation) was called in "fairly early" after production began and is credited with 'saving' the movie. It's scheduled to open in theaters on December 16. [Latino Review/BirthMoviesDeath]   Die Hard: Year One: Back in October, we heard about plans for a sixth installment in the Die Hard franchise, with the bulk of the story set in 1979 when John McClane was a young police officer in New York City. Bruce Willis was touted to show up in modern-day...
