'Pretty Little Liars' Season 6 Episode 12 Recap: Annnnd, Ezra Might Be a Killer Posted: In case you've forgotten, "Pretty Little Liars" is currently "five years in the future" on some weird network called FREEFORM that looks a lot like ABC Family, only with slightly cooler font choices. Things that are different? Radley Sanatorium is now a casual hotel and Ezra is a published author (we'll give you a moment to LOL hysterically). Things that are the same? The police department is terrible, Rosewood is populated by murderers, and the liars are this close to being arrested. So, why are these ladies trolling around the worst town in America when they could be working like normal adults? Why, because they're prime suspects in the murder of Cece Drake, of course. Keep reading for the low-down. So, Ezra Might Be a Murderer Wondering where the liars were on the night Cece Drake was shoved off a bell tower? Turns out Aria left the hotel to visit Ezra's hilarious 5 o'clock shadow, and according to the Radley Hotel/Sanitarium camera feed, they had a casual chat before Ezra wandered off toward the bell tower feeling all kinds of murderous. We know Ezra's a good (if slightly questionable) guy, but it should be noted that Spencer had just told him about a murder that happened almost exactly like Cece's. Lesson learned? Literally never talk to Ezra about murder, or he might accidentally-on-purpose kill someone. In other Ezra-related drama, Aria has a new bookish boyfriend/co-worker named Liam, who gets assigned Ezra's book when Aria fails to deliver pages. How totally and completely awkward! Also, pretty sure this isn't how publishing works... Unless it's normal for low-level employees to be sent to small town Pennsylvania to harass authors. Anyway, Aria does just that, and catches Ezra living in squalor surrounded by pizza boxes, so yes, you might say he's depressed. Probably because his ex-girlfriend was inexplicably murdered, but who knows. Please Don't Panic, But Spencer Has a Crush on Her Friend's Ex Everyone, meet Hanna's hunky boyfriend, Jordan, who is literally nothing like Caleb. This dude has a vague English accent, what appears to be a couple thousand pounds of muscle, and a love for the Hamptons. So yeah, no offense to Caleb "I See Dead People" Rivers, but Hanna traded up. But don't feel too bad for Caleb, because — and please try not to weep openly — it looks like Spencer might have feelings for him. It's like, what are you trying to do to our emotions, "Pretty Little Liars" writers? Honestly, how much heartbreak and confusion can we take? Again, Please Don't Panic, But Emily Might Be Dying Much like everyone else on this show, Emily has a huge secret. Not only is she secretly living in San Diego after flunking out of college, she's been going to doctor's appointments in Rosewood because she has a mysterious illness. Um. What is happening. Is Emily ok? Who knows, but she spends her free-time weeping openly over her father's grave so we're thinking no. Also, if you're wondering whether or not Sarah Harvey killed Cece, she isn't on the suspect list because of an "inability to use her hands." Ummmm.....k. %Slideshow-358304% This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |
Jamie Foxx Rescues Man From Burning Car Crash Outside His Home Posted: Jamie Foxx is no stranger to starring in action flicks on the big screen, but the Oscar-winning actor proved he was capable of some real life heroics this week when he rescued a man from a burning car near his California home. According to TMZ, the incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. on Monday when Foxx heard a car crash into the ditch outside his home. California Highway Patrol officials say that the driver was traveling "at 'a high rate of speed' when his car drove into a drainage ditch in the road, collided with a drainage pipe and concrete, rolled over multiple times and landed on the passenger side engulfed in flames." TMZ reports that Foxx called 911 and raced outside to assist the driver. The actor told authorities that he and another bystander, fearing the car would explode, worked to free the driver. According to Highway Patrol, Foxx "grabbed a rescue tool from his vehicle, which allowed the witnesses to break the window, cut the seatbelt and get [the driver] out alive." Fire and medical emergency personnel arrived on scene shortly after the driver, 32-year-old Brett Kyle, was freed, and took him to the hospital with serious injuries (TMZ reports that Kyle suffered from serious burns, though no update on his condition was released). Kyle was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. [via: TMZ, E! New 'Suicide Squad' Poster Features the Whole Skwad Posted: The entire skwad has assembled in a new poster for "Suicide Squad," which features the gang getting ready for its closeup -- and by the looks of those tense expressions and brandished weapons, ready to leap into action. The image, which debuted on Yahoo! Movies, at first glance seems to be your standard promotional poster, with a group shot of our titular antiheroes. But when you zoom out from the image, it becomes something both whimsical and sinister, as you can see two large X's forming eyes (Jared Leto's Joker is standing over one of them) and the rest of the crew lined up into the shape of a garish smile. That gang includes Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie), Killer Croc (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje), Katana (Karen Fukuhara), Rick Flagg (Joel Kinnaman), Deadshot (Will Smith), Captain Boomerang (Jai Courtney), Enchantress (Cara Delevingne), El Diablo (Jay Hernandez), Slipknot (Adam Beach), and government leader Amanda Waller (Viola Davis). Waller is mixed in with the rest of the squad, a nod perhaps to her murky motivations in sending out these villains to commit crimes on behalf of the U.S. -- and die for the country's secret sins, if necessary. Check out the full poster, including close-ups of the Joker and Harley Quinn, below. "Suicide Squad" is due in theaters on August 5. [via: Yahoo! Movies] Photo credit: Warner Bros. via Yahoo! Linda Perry Apologizes for Lady Gaga Oscars Accusation Posted: Less than 24 hours after she accused Lady Gaga of not genuinely earning an Oscar nomination for Best Original Song, musician Linda Perry has apologized for her remarks. Perry, who caused a Twitter firestorm early Monday morning with her insistence that Gaga had little to no hand in writing the song, "Til It Happens to You," later deleted the string of tweets (which you can still read in our original story) that claimed that co-writer Diane Warren was the sole songwriter, and perhaps gave Gaga a co-writing credit to get the tune more attention -- and an Oscar nomination. But Perry was widely criticized on the social media site, and by late Monday had taken down her posts, and replaced them with an apology. "I made a mistake to comment," Perry tweeted. "I wasn't in the room when the [song] was being written." She went on to say that she wanted "the focus to remain on the great importance of the song and the message of the film." "Til It Happens to You" was featured in the documentary "The Hunting Ground," which explores rampant sexual assault on college campuses. Warren had denied and denounced Perry's remarks in a series of posts on Twitter on Monday, which Gaga retweeted in solidarity. Neither woman provided further comment after Perry posted her apology. Perry herself had submitted a song for Oscar consideration ("Hands of Love" from the film "Freeheld"), which failed to garner a nomination. Sorority Girls Go Wild in 'Neighbors 2' Trailer Posted: Only thing worse than living next to a frat house? Living next to a sorority house. That's the lesson Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne learn in "Neighbors 2," the follow-up to the 2014 hit comedy. A bunch of boozing, drugging, hard-partying girls, led by Chloe Grace Moretz, moves in next door to Rogen and Byrne, and just like in the first movie, the couple declares war on the Greeks. This time, though, they call on their former frat boy enemy (Zac Efron) to get these girls out so they can sell their house and move to the suburbs. "Neighbors 2" is certainly not going for Most Inventive Sequel Ever; the plot looks nearly identical to the original. Even some of the slapstick is recycled. But the first one was pretty funny, and Rogen's physical comedy never gets old. "Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising" opens in theaters May 20. Want more stuff like this? 'The Choice' Exclusive Clip: Gabby Has Ladies Man Travis All Figured Out Posted: Ladies, "a man with one chair likes to sit alone." Take it from Gabby Holland (Teresa Palmer), the feisty medical student at the center of "The Choice," the latest cinematic adaptation of a Nicholas Sparks novel, which hits theaters February 5. In this exclusive clip -- set as so many swoon-worthy Sparks stories are, in the beautifully lush American South -- Gabby goes for a walk with Stephanie (Maggie Grace), one of her new neighbors, who happens to be the sister of hunky ladies man Travis (Benjamin Walker). Gabby just met the guy, but she already has him all figured out, based in part on that one chair he has at the front of his house. The clip is all light summer flirtation, but the love story itself is more complicated and spans a decade of events. When they first meet in this coastal town, Gabby already has a boyfriend, and Travis (as Gabby quickly assessed) tends to cut and run whenever a relationship starts getting serious. But they have that undeniable spark that leads them to take the leap. However, since this is a Sparks novel adaptation, you know the romance will come with heartbreak and tears. The movie is called "The Choice" for a reason, and it's not just the choice of whether these hot young thangs should be together or not. "The Choice" will be released February 5, 2016. Academy President Promises to Diversify Oscar Membership Posted: Cheryl Boone Isaacs, the president of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, took to Twitter to address the controversy over the lack of diversity among this year's Oscar nominees. None of 20 acting nominees are people of color for the second year in a row. The smash hit "Straight Outta Compton" was snubbed, though it had received precursor nominations from the Screen Actors Guild, the Producers Guild, and the Writers Guild. The hashtag #OscarsSoWhite has been trending on Twitter, and director Spike Lee and actress Jada Pinkett Smith have vowed to boycott the ceremony. "I am both heartbroken and frustrated about the lack of inclusion. This is a difficult but important conversation, and it's time for big changes," Boone wrote in a release on Twitter. Boone added that the Academy hopes to diversify its membership by expanding their recruitment efforts even further. "We have implemented changes to diversify our membership in the last four years. But the change is not coming as fast as we would like." Want more stuff like this? Like us on Facebook. %Slideshow-356767% This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |
