Or were you hoping that maybe at home you could just understand the audio mix a bit better? Then you're in luck! I can confirm that the Blu-ray of Interstellar, which includes an IMAX film cell depending on what version you buy, looks great and sounds great. The Geek Beat: An 'Oregon Trail' Movie And More Unbelievable Stuff We Wish Was Real

Posted: 01 Apr 2015 10:00 PM PDT

A new month means a new batch of geekery hitting shelves (and theaters), and April is no different. This time around, The Geek Beat has stolen Professor Hubert J. Farnsworth's What-If Machine to pull in highlights from an alternate dimension, showing us what's happened to some of our favorite movies, characters, and comics in alternate realities. From Condorman spinoffs to Total Recall merch, life may actually be better in this other world that is only accessible on April 1st.   What To Read At this point, Stan Lee's cameos in movies based on Marvel Comics characters have become an anticipated – and almost necessary – element in each film, tying them together in a way that represents something greater than studio politics or narrative threads...

Watch: Ryan Reynolds Confirms the 'Deadpool' Rating in the Best Way Possible

Posted: 01 Apr 2015 08:26 PM PDT

It's kind of fascinating to see the differences between the way Fox is engaging fans with its two incoming superhero franchise reboots. When it comes to Fantastic Four, the studio is incredibly tight lipped and is keeping almost all of the details close to its chest. And that's for a movie that comes out later this summer. Deadpool, on the other hand, is only just started filming for a release next year and yet they're already been doling out details to the fans in creative ways. We thought the inspired reveal of Deadpool's full costume (as seen above) was going to be hard to top, but star Ryan Reynolds has already done so with the below video, which very bluntly handles the question of what the rating of the movie is going to be while also giving us our first...

Wait, That Was Real?! Cool GoPro Video Shows How the Ridiculous 'Furious 7' Stunts Were Done

Posted: 01 Apr 2015 07:00 PM PDT

When you watch Furious 7 this weekend, you're going to be blown away by the action. But how much will you believe in the stunts? Did they really drive a car from one Abu Dhabi skyscraper to another? Did they really parachute a bunch of other cars from an airplane? Did they really crash and blow up all sorts of vehicles and collapse a parking garage in the middle of Los Angeles, as it looks in the Fast and Furious sequel? Well, some of that movie magic isn't completely illusion. Sure, there are times where Atlanta is a stand-in for L.A., and there are many moments where you're not seeing everything that was present during shooting -- erasing cables and other things is such a major part of special effects these days. Otherwise, a lot of what you're seeing was pretty...

'Guardians' Director James Gunn's Next Script Is the Most Uncompromising He's Ever Written

Posted: 01 Apr 2015 05:30 PM PDT

It may not be immediately obvious from watching Guardians of the Galaxy, but writer-director James Gunn is a horror guy in his heart. Granted, Guardians is a bit edgier than most of the Marvel movies, but it's certainly not nearly as violent as his past films like Super, as gory as Slither, or as grungy as Tromeo and Juliet. We love the more family-friendly movies Gunn's plenty capable of (he wrote the live-action Scooby-Doos, which are actually pretty clever), but we also dig those movies, so we're relieved to hear that he hasn't hung up his horror hat just yet. Gunn revealed on Facebook that The Belco Experiment, a script he wrote a few years, has finally found new life. Unfortunately he's not directing (Guaradians of the Galaxy 2 has him...

New 'Straight Outta Compton' Trailer Is Less NSFW But Just as Exciting

Posted: 01 Apr 2015 04:15 PM PDT

Update: A new, green band trailer for Straight Outta Compton is now online, and embedded at the bottom of this post. If you grew up a fan of rap music or any sort of hip-hop really, then no doubt you've listened to N.W.A. on many occasions. The controversial rap group helped bring gangsta rap to the mainstream and in the process became an influential voice for many communities across the country that felt they had no voice. A movie about their story has been in the works for a few years now, with Universal picking it up and assigning F. Gary Gray to direct Straight Outta Compton, which is fitting since Gray was behind the camera in 1995 for Ice Cube's big breakout acting role in the "hood" comedy Friday. Ice Cube, of course, was one of the founding members of...

Movie News: Clint Eastwood Touted to Direct DiCaprio and Hill; Watch Melissa McCarthy in Funny 'Spy' Trailer

Posted: 01 Apr 2015 12:00 PM PDT

Apostle Paul: Hugh Jackman may be hanging up his claws as Wolverine, but he's ready to take on other challenges. That includes starring as the titular character in Apostle Paul, based on the account in the Bible about Saul, a devout Jew who persecuted Christians until Jesus appeared to him one day; the converted Christian changed his name to Paul and began preaching the Gospel far and wide. Jackman will produce, along with Matt Damon and Ben Affleck. [Deadline]   Richard Jewell: Clint Eastwood may direct Jonah Hill and Leonardo DiCaprio in the story of Richard Jewell, who was falsely accused of the 1996 Atlanta Olympics bombing. Hill would star as the security guard, while DiCaprio is now only touted as "possible" to co-star as...
