Here's a First Look at Johnny Depp in 'Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales' Posted: It's been long-delayed, and it's still more than two years from release, but moviegoers now have their first official photo from the set of "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales." The shot, shared by producer Jerry Bruckheimer on Twitter, features Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) in some hot water. He's tied to a ship's mast, surrounded by other pirates, and has an "oh, crap" look on his face that suggests he has a lot of work to do to get out of whatever scrape he's in this time. There's still no official plot for the film, and only a handful of cast members have been confirmed, though that shouldn't stop audiences from flocking to the flick. The fifth entry in the "Pirates" franchise centers around the evil Captain Brand (Javier Bardem), and rumored return of original series star Orlando Bloom. "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales" is currently shooting in Australia. It's due in theaters on July 7, 2017. Lori Loughlin Says Money Drama Is Delaying 'Fuller House' Cast Negotiations Posted: When news of the upcoming "Full House" spinoff "Fuller House" was revealed, it appeared that most, if not all, of the original cast was on board for the project. But when John Stamos confirmed the project this week, several key cast members were still hammering out deals to return -- and now one former costar has revealed why. In an interview with Access Hollywood Live, Lori Loughlin, who played Aunt Becky on the show, revealed that she wants to return for the new series, but indicated that unequal contracts (a.k.a. wildly different salaries) were the main sticking point for the remaining actors, including Bob Saget, Dave Coulier, and Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. Per Access Hollywood:
Loughlin also revealed that the entire cast was in discussions to reunite for a one-hour reunion show, but that all depends on whether the Olsen Twins will come back -- and whether or not the remaining actors can work out their financial issues. Loughlin told Access Hollywood that the Olsens (who famously announced they were done with acting a couple years ago) aren't concerned with the money aspect, and may end up not participating at all. But the actress said she hoped she would be there when the cameras start to roll. "We want to be there, we want to come back. It's up to them," Loughlin told Access Hollywood of her former co-stars. "It's not on us, it's on them." "Fuller House" will focus on D.J. (Candace Cameron Bure), her best friend Kimmy (Andrea Barber), and her younger sister Stephanie (Jodie Sweetin) raising their respective families together, much like in the original ABC series. Stamos, who's also producing the project, will also reprise his role as Uncle Jesse. The show is set for a 13-episode run on Netflix. Ewan McGregor to Play Lumiere in 'Beauty and the Beast' Posted: It looks like the upcoming live-action version of "Beauty and the Beast" has found its Lumiere: The Hollywood Reporter writes that Ewan McGregor is in final negotiations to take the part. According to the trade, McGregor's involvement is all but a done deal. He's the last major actor to be cast, and will play Lumiere, the smooth-talking servant who's turned into a candelabra, and memorably belts out the classic tune, "Be Our Guest." McGregor's most memorable on-screen singing came in Baz Luhrmann's 2001 musical "Moulin Rouge." The actor joins a long list of impressive talent set to star in "Beauty," including Emma Watson, Dan Stevens, Luke Evans, Emma Thompson, Ian McKellen, Josh Gad, Audra McDonald, and Kevin Kline. "Beauty and the Beast," based on the 1991 animated Disney classic, is directed by Bill Condon. It's due in theaters on March 17, 2017. 'Inside Amy Schumer' Renewed for Season 4 Posted: Good news, "Inside Amy Schumer" fans: The show just got picked up for a fourth season, ahead of its season three premiere. Schumer made the announcement herself during an appearance on "The Late Show with David Letterman" on Monday night, where she told the host she just got word about the pickup before heading out onstage. Letterman congratulated the comedienne, and the duo chatted about the highs and lows of working on series television, where Schumer quipped that the annual effort doesn't get any easier, but "I find I'm getting easier." In a statement released Tuesday, Comedy Central praised the show and Schumer. "We love being 'Inside Amy Schumer' and are thrilled our audience agrees," said Kent Alterman, president of content development and original programming at the network. "I'm so happy to keep the 'Inside Amy Schumer' family together," Schumer added in her own statement. "Excited and scared for everyone to see what we do next." There's certainly a lot for Schumer to be excited about: She just snagged a prestigious Peabody Award for the series, landed a spot on Time's annual 100 Most Influential People list, hosted the MTV Movie Awards to much fanfare, and is set to star in her first feature film, "Trainwreck," which she wrote. Season three of "Inside Amy Schumer" premieres tonight (Tuesday) on Comedy Central at 10:30 p.m. This season will feature plotlines about birth control, dating a rapper, and standing trial in front of an all-male jury. Adrianne Palicki & Nick Blood May Star in 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' Spinoff Posted: ABC has been hush-hush about its plans for a new spinoff of Marvel series "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.," but according to one report, its leads may already been in place. Deadline writes that current "S.H.I.E.L.D." stars Adrianne Palicki and Nick Blood are set to headline the new series, which the trade says will have "a 'Mr. & Mrs. Smith' vibe." Palicki and Blood, who joined "S.H.I.E.L.D." this season, play Lance Hunter and Barbara "Bobbi" Morse (a.k.a. Mockingbird), ex-spouses who now work together for the superhero organization. According to Deadline, "The spinoff is supposed to be set up by events from this season of 'S.H.I.E.L.D.,'" and "The setup of the spinoff would allow it to air concurrently" with the original series. The trade notes that the spinoff has yet to receive an official greenlight, though if it does get the go-ahead, ABC hopes to have a promo ready for the spring upfronts presentation. Palicki, Blood, ABC, and Marvel all declined Deadline's requests for comment on the report. Stay tuned. New 'Tomorrowland' Trailer Gives Away a Little More of the Action Posted: "You ain't seen nothing yet!" Those very true words are uttered by George Clooney near the end of a terrific new trailer for "Tomorrowland," Brad Bird's futuristic sci-fi movie about which we know very little. The trailer doesn't clear up a whole lot, but it does give us an extended look at a cool action sequence after curious teen Britt Robertson meets genius recluse Clooney. She's got a special pin that transports her to an amazing world - one that she knows Clooney has visited. But a band of menacing soldiers are hot on her heels, and the two frantically run through his booby trap-laden house to escape ... via bathtub! While the marketing for "Tomorrowland" has kept its plot close to the vest, there will be a six-minute preview running with IMAX screenings of "Avengers: Age of Ultron." Maybe it'll shed more details. "Tomorrowland" opens in theaters May 22. This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |

'Dancing With the Stars' Recap: Dancing Crabs Return for Spring Break Posted: It's Spring Break on Dancing with the Stars and everyone's got their spangled beachwear on. It's also another excuse for the show to bring out those weird dancing crabs, which Tom Bergeron tells us the show is apparently stuck with all season. Poor Sasha has worn the dopey crab suit five times already, causing Tom to tell him he needs to find a new agent. It's a busy night, as the dancers all have two dances tonight: their duet, and a team dance. Tensions are high in many of the packages (of course), but the dancers all do very well in their routines. Good thing too, because next week is going to shake things up with a double elimination (dun dun Dunn!). They're zipping through this season, and it looks like they've abandoned the switch-up idea, unfortunately. Before getting into my top dances, I just want to say how much I love Julianne Hough as a judge. She brings such joy and energy to the ballroom, but she also gives really great, constructive criticism, often pointing out important and crystal clear suggestions for the dancers to work on. I also love Carrie Ann, but she's been with the show for a long time. Julianne brings a new dynamic that's refreshing. My only question is, what's up with Julianne's mic this week? They must have hidden it under her dress or something, because it caused sound problems. Here's my top 5 dances: Nastia & Derek's Tango: I was concerned, based on the package, that this tango would be way too fast, with too much crammed into it. I mentioned in Week 2 that Derek stuffs a lot into his choreography and I'd love for him to relax a little. But this routine isn't that bad. There's a lot of content, but it doesn't necessarily feel rushed to me. Len, however, disagrees-most emphatically, turning very red in the face. He feels there's too much happening and not enough variation in mood or dynamic. Nastia is so beautiful and makes it look easy, but I really appreciate Carrie Ann's comments: Nastia needs to embrace this new form and allow herself to dance, rather than going back to her gymnastics training. I remember Shawn Johnson became an absolutely beautiful dancer; not just a technician, but an artist. Nastia isn't quite there yet. Score: 34 Willow & Mark's Salsa: Mark's Whiplash school jazz band concept doesn't lend much to the routine, but it's ok, because the dancing holds its own. I prefer that the concept not detract from or overwhelm the dancing anyway, so it's just as well. Willow looks great in this salsa, dancing well, and as Carrie Ann says, is sexy without being over the top. She does need to watch her knees (as Len points out), which bend and disturb the line, especially going into the lifts. But she's adorable, looks great, and clearly has fun. I wonder if her extra rib helps her with her dancing. Score: 34 Noah & Sharna's Rumba: This is actually my favorite dance tonight, because the choreography is stunning. I love how Sharna interprets the lyrics (such as the waves and feet not touching the ground) without being heavy-handed or obvious. There's a mistake there that we can't see, except that everything stops short, but the rest of the routine is beautiful. I also really appreciate Noah mentioning the package, and the producers zeroing in on those few moments of tension in an otherwise probably smooth and successful week. He's clearly not used to being in a "reality" show. I do think they deserve better scores though. Score: 29 Riker & Allison's Samba: I just love Riker so much, and I'm totally with Carrie Ann: I'm fangirling over him in a rather ridiculous way. It's not difficult for me to fangirl, I do it plenty, but I still didn't expect to. Good for Allison for holding out for a new song, though. I really appreciate that, because I always wonder who chooses the music; the choreographers often seem restricted by the songs they're given. I don't know this song, but it works well for this samba, which is lengthy and full of content. Riker's so great, looking strong, confident, and sexy. He's a good match for Allison. Len needs to be more specific in his critique though, because I'm not sure what his problem is with Riker. He just sounds grumpy. Score: 37 (first place!) Team Yolo: The package made Team Yolo look like they were headed for serious trouble (wait, that's the other team). But of course it's no problem. Nastia isn't around for most of the week, with her and Derek flying back and forth to New York, but she's such a pro that of course she can pull it out last minute and make it look good. Everyone else really pulls their weight too, and the routine is fun and flawless. Great choreography, a fun, entertaining routine, and clean lifts. And Sharna doesn't clock her head on the floor like she did in rehearsal, thank goodness. A near perfect Score: 39 The rest: Patti & Artem's Quickstep: This is an odd performance. I'm confused by Patti kicking her shoe off because it looks so intentional, but then she has to do the dance with only one shoe. Apparently, she was supposed to kick both shoes off, but the first one wouldn't fly. Strange. She actually looks pretty good doing the dance-what there is of it. It takes a very long time to get into the quickstep, and it's a fairly simple dance of mostly trotting. But her energy is pretty good and her steps clean. She also puts in a plug for her sauces, and gets Tom to go shoeless for a while too. Score: 29 Robert & Kym's Jive: Robert gets totally fired up from his low scores last week, and his jive is much better than his quickstep-but unfortunately, that's not saying too much. But he's definitely a fighter and gives it everything he has this week. The routine is difficult and long, with lots of good content, and he keeps up with it well and keeps his energy high. His timing is off, especially on the triple steps, and he loses his footing on the kicks. I do think he deserves a slightly better score though. I'm also trying to remember if they've done a Grease routine yet, because Kym reminds me of Olivia Newton-John, and I don't think it's because she's Australian. Erin needs to let go of the whole making-out theme though. They're slimy enough as it is. Score: 28 (last place) Rumer & Val's Jazz: Thank you Julianne and Carrie Ann! They both say exactly what I'm thinking: this routine is underwhelming. Len thinks so too, reminding us that this is "the ballroom, not the bedroom" (how has he never said that before?), but I think we all expect that from Len. Rumer is capable of so much more, and this routine has way too much strutting and posing and not nearly enough dancing. It's simplistic and boring, and I think it's something of a copout for Val to blame the song. Bruno likes it though, calling it "Raunchalicious"-but I'm not sure that's a good thing. I love seeing Len's reaction when Julianne actually gives a lower score than he does. Score: 32 Chris & Witney's Viennese Waltz: Carrie Ann mentions that the women in the audience are all in love with Chris after this sweet, romantic waltz. Good thing I'm not in the ballroom, because I just find it ok. He looks pretty good, but his timing isn't always on, and Witney definitely does more dancing in this routine than he does. Granted, Viennese waltz is a difficult dance because it's so fast, and he's not a dancer, but somehow I want more. The piglet in a bikini is cute, but also a bit disconcerting. Score: 31 Team Trouble: I'm surprised. Team Trouble is so confident in their package that I thought it would completely backfire on them and they might also have problems. But no, they do a clean, entertaining routine. I especially love Riker and Allison's nerdy hip-hop section with its awesome tutting, and the stepping section with Patti's hamboning is terrific. But Team Yolo gave such a fun, high energy routine that I didn't think Team Trouble would match them. But they do, tying them with a near perfect Score: 39. Before the team dances, Tom and Erin reveal the four couples in jeopardy: Noah & Sharna, Robert & Kym, Patti & Artem-and Riker & Allison! I'm very surprised, and nervous, to see my favorite in trouble, especially given that Bachelor Chris is again scot-free. Fortunately, it's fine, as Noah, and then Riker, is pronounced safe. You can tell by the looks on their faces that Robert and Kym expect to go home next, and boy are they surprised when Patti is eliminated instead. I'm surprised too, but I'm also glad. I'm growing a little weary of the Patti shuffle. So what do you think, dance fans? Are you surprised, or disappointed, to see Miss Patti go? Which team did you like better? Which are your favorite dances tonight? This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |
More Details About 'Fuller House,' the Long-Awaited 'Full House' Sequel Posted: "Full House" is coming back, "Fuller" than ever. Last night on "Jimmy Kimmel Live," John Stamos revealed that Netflix is making a sequel to the classic '90s comedy. Now, there are more details about the 13-episode "Fuller House," which is set to debut in 2016. TV Line confirms what Stamos said - that Candace Cameron Bure, Jodie Sweetin, and Andrea Barber will reprise their original roles in the spinoff. Bure is the "Danny" of the new series: D.J. is widowed, has two sons (a rebellious 12-year-old and a neurotic 7-year-old) and she's pregnant. Aspiring singer Stephanie seems to be cut from the same cloth as Uncle Jesse. And single mom Kimmy Gibbler, who has a teen daughter, is the sassy best friend, just like Joey. Stamos is producing the series and will guest star. Appearances by "Full House" cast members Bob Saget, Dave Coulier, Lori Loughlin, and Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen are still up in the air. Posted: If you're like us and value your sleep, you probably nodded off into your Ambien dreamland before the party started on post-prime time TV. Don't worry; we've got you covered. Here's the best of what happened last night on late night. LL Cool J, Rose Byrne, and Big Sean were on "The Tonight Show" with Jimmy Fallon Monday night, and Jimmy had them play Pictionary. LL and Rose were partners and Jimmy and Big Sean were partners. LL admitted he could not draw and ... he was right. Watch what happens when he's supposed to draw a tattoo and instead draws something vaguely phallic-looking and starts swearing and has to be bleeped out. It was bad. Rose was good, not that it helped them. John Stamos was on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" and gave Jimmy the "exclusive" on the "Full House" return, which is coming to Netflix. "It starts sort of as a reunion and spins off into this, like, a spinoff, and so you have Candace [Cameron Bure] and Jodie [Sweetin] and Andrea Barber (Kimmy Gibler) and Candace has two boys and it's sort of a reversal and we turn the house over to her. It's a labor of love and we've been literally trying for so many years to get it right, and I think we finally got it perfect." He said if they can't get the Olsen twins they're going to dress Jimmy up. They're going to do an hour special, then segue into the spinoff, and they're hoping to get the original cast for that hour special, at least. In unrelated news, John was proclaimed "best looking Greek" by President Barack Obama, during a Greek celebration event. Actor Michael B. Jordan was also on JKL and talked about sharing his name with the greatest basketball player. He has not met the other Michael Jordan yet. Amy Schumer was on "Late Show with David Letterman" and talked about her experience at the MTV Movie Awards. Dave said, since she probably won't be on the show again (he's retiring very soon), she should do something that she'll regret. So she stood up and started lifting her dress in front of the audience. She showed off a scar at the top of her thigh. "That's my vagina." Dave: "Well. I asked for it, didn't I? It's my fault." Amy said it's actually a surfing scar. John Travolta was on Dave's show and John's son, Ben, made his debut on the show. They wanted to bring him out but Ben was scared. He had a mini tantrum and Dave said they might have a place for him on the staff. Dave also gives a wee bit of a Fallon diss in the video, so look for that. Rosario Dawson, Tony Hale, and Sharon Osbourne were on "The Late Late Show with James Corden." The group played "Guess Who?" with the audience. Tony talked about "Veep" and how the writing staff is mostly British. Sharon and James talked about how British people are so good at insults. Sharon sends her insults in the "post" - she used to send her kids' poop in a Tiffany box to people who irritated her. Lindsey Vonn was on "Late Night with Seth Meyers" and talked about dating Tiger Woods. The incomparable Helen Mirren was also on Seth's show and she talked about how she's a little bit ibest-of-late-night-tv-bad-pictionary-with-ll-cool-j-rose-byrnen love with Vin Diesel.
