2nd trailer for ‘SPL 2′ starring Wu Jing and Tony Jaa! Posted: 24 Apr 2015 01:00 AM PDT "SPL 2: A Time For Consequences" Teaser Poster THE MOVIE: A $23 million sequel to SPL or Sha Po Lang is in post-production. The original, which was released in North America under the title Kill Zone, helped provide a boost to Donnie Yen’s and Sammo Hung’s popularity before they collaborated again three years later on 2008′s Ip Man. Despite a Category III rating (essentially the Chinese equivalent of the NC-17), SPL proved successful in Hong Kong theaters. Updates: Donnie Yen will not be in SPL 2. The film is being helmed by Soi Cheang (Motorway) with Wilson Yip (Ip Man 1 and 2) serving as producer. Tony Jaa (Skin Trade), Wu Jing (Wolf Warrior), Louis Koo (Flash Point), Simon Yam (Cyprus Tigers) and Zhang Jin (Rise of the Legend) make up the film’s leading cast. According to Film Business Asia’s Kevin Ma, SPL 2′s plot involves “a Thai prison guard who needs to free an undercover cop who can save his daughter’s life.” | According to THL, the full title of SPL 2 will be SPL 2: A Time For Consequences. Scott Adkins’ military actioner ‘Jarhead: The Siege’ wraps up! Posted: 23 Apr 2015 12:00 AM PDT "Wolf Warrior" Chinese Theatrical Poster Production has wrapped on Jarhead: The Siege, the third chapter in the unrelated, modern-day, military trilogy that began with Sam Mendes’ Jarhead (2005) and Don Michael Paul’s Jarhead 2: Field of Fire (2014). The upcoming Jarhead: The Siege is directed by William Kaufman (One in the Chamber) and stars Charlie Weber (How to Get Away with Murder), Scott Adkins (Wolf Warrior), Tom Ainsley (The Royals), Dennis Haysbert (Jarhead) and Dante Basco (Blood and Bone). Synopsis: Corporal Albright (Weber) joined the elite Marine Corp Security Guards to save the world and see some action — not necessarily in that order. But his first assignment, protecting a U.S. Embassy in a seemingly safe Middle Eastern capitol, relegates his unit to wrangling “gate groupies” protesting outside the compound and honing their marksmanship by playing video games. So Albright and his team are caught off guard when well-armed and well-trained militants launch a surprise attack aimed at killing an informant in the embassy.
