9 Things You Need to Know About the 'Entourage' Movie Posted: The gang is back in the "Entourage" movie, which picks up about seven months after the series finale and finds everyone living a whole lot larger with Ari (Jeremy Piven) running a studio and Vince (Adrian Grenier) directing his first movie. That's Hollywood. Last year, we were invited to "Turtle's Malibu beach house" set, where we chatted with stars Grenier, Kevin Connolly, Kevin Dillon, Jerry Ferrara, and director Doug Ellin. Here's the vital info we learned about the big-screen baller reunion, which hits theaters June 3rd. 1. Vince is now a director. The movie is called "Hyde," a modern-day version of "Jekyll and Hyde," where Dr. Hyde is a Tony Stark-style genius chemist "with a dark side," according to production designer Chase Harlan. E is producing, Vince is directing, and Drama's got a small role. "The guys have a lot riding on this new movie, and because it's Ari's first movie at the studio, the stakes are very high for all the characters," says Connolly. Harlan says the movie-within-a-movie is full of "all kinds of crazy, drug-fueled, violent, sexual mayhem. Hopefully, we'll get to see it." 2. Turtle is rich! Turtle now resides in a palatial Malibu beach pad, which is actually in Palos Verdes. "I guess after eight years, he finally grew up; it's nice," says Ferrara. "But I feel like he probably rents it and his furniture is all staged." He adds, "I'll miss the older guy who's grinding it out, making $200 a week driving. But, what I love about it is he's made all this money and he still drives the guys around. He still picks Vince up and drives around in his Escalade, which I wouldn't have any other way." 3. Vince is now living in Madonna's old Hollywood Hills home. "It's funny, because I was on a run up through the hills and I was just looking at the house and was like 'Wow, I've never been in there. I'd love to go in there sometime.' And then, Monday morning, there I am, inside the house," says Grenier. "I can't believe that I'm competing with Turtle. I mean, what has everything come to?" he laughs. Production designer Harlan explains the house now belongs to fashion designer Leon Max. "The house was filled with 16th century Van Dyke paintings and things. We were like, 'Yeah, better have a professional take those out before we get there.'" 3. E's going to be a dad! Says Connolly, "Sloan (Emmanuelle Chriqui) is pregnant and ready to pop, but she still hasn't taken me back. She's having a hard time getting over the mother-in-law thing. Which, who could blame her, right? So, it's me preparing for the baby and there's a few mishaps along the way. And a few other ladies, which has been interesting to shoot. But Sloan is who he wants and he wants to try to get his family back together." 4. Drama's still Drama. Explains Dillon, "Drama has not really [evolved]. At times he'll get there and fall back down. That's what makes him fun though, you know? Drama is always teetering on the edge of complete failure. 'Hyde' is a major motion picture, and he feels like this part maybe could be the one that could take him to the next level." That is, if Drama even makes the final cut. 5. Turtle is dating MMA fighter Ronda Rousey. "I kind of ask her out and it becomes like a business deal and she gets confused by that, thinking that I actually wanted to date her and kind of normal, blue-collar guys never really ask her out; they're intimidated," explains Ferrara. "So it's definitely a good little love story, romantic angle with her. I think it's going to be pretty cool. I've been a fan of hers for years now and she's the real deal, both in and out of the ring." Does she end up kicking his ass? "There will be fighting. There will be blood, yes. And it's going to be mine," laughs Ferrara. 6. There are cameos galore. As the trailer shows, everyone from Liam Neeson to Haley Joel Osment shows up. But the bar was set even higher in terms of cameos for the movie. "When the show first started, we begged people to do cameos and the first few were favors. Now it's, 'Hey, I want to do the movie.' Bob Saget came with an idea and he got in. So it's really like, 'What are you thinking? Are you OK with poking fun at yourself?'" Connolly personally lined up the Piers Morgan cameo. "He always told me that he was a big fan of the show. So then Doug was like, 'Piers Morgan has seen every episode and he passed the trivia test.' I asked him a few questions to see if he was bullsh*tting me or not. He's seen every episode. So yeah, that's it." 7. Ari is still dishing out abuse. "The dynamic hasn't changed much," says Connolly of Ari's feelings for E. "He's got a lot to say. The fans that love to hear Ari rip into E will not be disappointed." 8. The pressure is on to live up to that other hit HBO TV-show-turned-movie. "We have to live up to 'Sex and the City,' which obviously is, I think, the second most successful R-rated comedy ever made," director Doug Ellin said. "So we're just trying to make a good movie and whatever happens at the box office happens, there's nothing we can do to control it." 9. Expect the movie to be a super-sized episode. "It's basically an episode on steroids," says Connolly. "People always complained that the episodes were too short, so now they can't complain." Adds Dillon, "Eight seasons didn't feel like enough for me. It felt like we could have gotten ten. Now with this movie it feels like we're doing another season in a way, all wrapped up in one, which is cool." Says Ferrara. "[Sometimes] it literally feels like nothing has changed, this is just season nine, absolutely." This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |
Tyler Perry Joins 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2' Posted: Tyler Perry is adding yet another eclectic role to his idiosyncratic acting career, joining the cast of "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2." Perry, creator of the wacky "Madea" series and recent co-star in "Gone Girl," is set to play Baxter Stockman, who, as The Hollywood Reporter explains, is one of "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles"'s "major villains" and "a scientist who first creates the Mousers, a line of rat-destroying machines. Later he becomes a cyborg." He takes over the role from actor K. Todd Freeman, who made a brief appearance as Stockman in the 2014 flick. Perry joins fellow new addition Stephen Amell, who's playing classic "Turtles" character Casey Jones in the follow-up. Will Arnett and Megan Fox are reprising their roles from the reboot. Syfy Announces the Full 'Sharknado 3' Cast and Premiere Info Posted: The third installment in the so-silly-it's-awesome "Sharknado" series now has its final lineup and is getting a special premiere week slate of programming, which Syfy announced on Thursday. "Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No!" (love the subtitle) reunites viewers with original stars Ian Ziering and Tara Reid, who are reprising their roles as estranged spouses/sharknado survivors Fin and April. Joining them this time around is original "Sharknado" star Cassie Scerbo (who sat out last summer's "Sharknado 2: The Second One"), along with some new faces: David Hasselhoff (playing Fin's father, Gil), Bo Derek (April's mother, May), Ryan Newman (taking over the part of April and Fin's daughter, Claudia Shepard, from original star and current "Nashville" cast member Aubrey Peeples), and Jack Griffo (Claudia's friend, Billy). Those main characters join previously-announced cameos from a random assortment of "stars" (we use that term lightly), including Mark Cuban (President of the United States), Ann Coulter (Vice President of the United States), Michele Bachmann, "Today Show" hosts Kathie Lee and Hoda, Frankie Muniz, Anthony Weiner, Jerry Springer, Washington Redskins players Ryan Kerrigan and Tom Compton, *NSYNC singer Chris Kirkpatrick, and Chris Jericho. "Sharknado 3" will be ravaging the Feast Coast, raging from Washington, D.C. to Orlando, Florida, and taking out a host of political landmarks and amusement park rides in its sea creature-filled wake. We can't wait. The flick debuts on Syfy on July 22 at 9 p.m. Syfy is also planning a Sharknado Week premiere event, featuring six additional original movies. They are: "Sharktopus Vs. Whale Wolf" (Roger Corman's third installment of the 'Sharktopus' franchise, starring Casper Van Dien); "3-Headed Shark Attack" (starring Danny Trejo); "Roboshark"; "Mega Shark Vs. Kolossus" (starring Illeana Douglas); "Zombie Shark" (starring Jason London); and the premiere of "Lavalantula" (starring Steve Guttenberg and fellow "Police Academy" alums Leslie Easterbrook and Michael Winslow, as they battle lava-breathing tarantulas threatening to destroy Los Angeles). Johnny Depp Is Terrifying as Whitey Bulger in the 'Black Mass' Trailer Posted: The first trailer for "Black Mass," the story of notorious South Boston gangster Whitey Bulger, features a stunning transformation from Johnny Depp, who plays the mob boss with such terrifying conviction that it's hard to look the character in the eye. The clip begins innocently enough, as Whitey sits down for a delicious steak dinner with some pals. He raves about the meal, asking about the marinade, which is deemed a "family secret." But Bulger keeps pushing, until finally his friend gives up the recipe, and that's when the pleasant conversation turns deadly serious. Depp dives into a monologue about the importance of keeping secrets, and how easily -- like the recipe -- they can be given up (and he could be sent to prison), which plays over a montage of some of his worst misdeeds. In real life, Bulger was sentenced to two consecutive life terms on charges of racketeering, money laundering, and weapons possession, and there's plenty of that on display in the trailer, all narrated by Depp-as-Bulger in a creepy, haunting performance that's certain to turn some heads come awards season. "Black Mass" also stars Joel Edgerton, Benedict Cumberbatch, Kevin Bacon, Jesse Plemons, Adam Scott, Peter Sarsgaard, Dakota Johnson, and Juno Temple. It's due in theaters on September 18. Netflix Renews 'Daredevil' for Season 2 Posted: Everyone is talking about "Daredevil," Marvel's new Netflix series that's become a cultural touchstone since its release earlier this month. So it should come as no surprise, then, that the streaming service has picked up the show for another season. Netflix and Marvel announced the renewal earlier this week, noting that season two should debut sometime in 2016. The series will also get new showrunners for its second go-around, with Doug Petrie ("Buffy the Vampire Slayer," "American Horror Story") and Marco Ramirez ("Sons of Anarchy") subbing in for Steven S. DeKnight and Drew Goddard. Goddard will stay on as an executive producer for season two, alongside Jeph Loeb ("Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D."). "Daredevil" stars Charlie Cox, Rosario Dawson, Vincent D'Onofrio, Deborah Ann Woll, Elden Henson, Scott Glenn, Bob Gunton, Toby Leonard Moore, Vondie Curtis Hall, and Ayelet Zurer. It's the first of four planned Marvel-centric series coming to Netflix, with "A.K.A. Jessica Jones" and "Luke Cage" set to premiere on the streaming service later this year and in 2016, respectively. 'Inside Amy Schumer' Has Tina Fey, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Patricia Arquette Skewer Aging in Hollywood Posted: This week's season premiere of "Inside Amy Schumer" featured a brilliant sketch skewering Hollywood's unrealistic expectations of aging actresses, and star Amy Schumer was able to snag a dream-team trio of women to star in the bit: Tina Fey, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and Patricia Arquette. The sketch features a wide-eyed Schumer stumbling upon the threesome having a decadent picnic in a park, celebrating Louis-Dreyfus's "Last F--ckable Day." That distinction, they explain, means that Louis-Dreyfus has now reached an age where, by Hollywood standards, she's no longer believable as a sexually-desirable woman. It's both depressing and hilarious in equal measure, since the film industry's stigma against women of a certain age has long been lamented, and Fey, Louis-Dreyfus, and Arquette infuse the bit with such biting wit. Fey explains that the phenomenon can be traced to someone like Sally Field, who once played Tom Hanks's love interest and then wound up playing his mother in "Forrest Gump." Arquette said she knew her time was over when she was called in to audition for the role of Mrs. Claus -- a part that ultimately went to Jennifer Lopez. There are plenty more gags where those came from (Louis-Dreyfus's comments about the "Real Housewives" stars trying to stave off aging by looking like "purses that melted in a car accident" are especially inspired), but it's really worth watching the entire thing. #TBT: Channing Tatum Through the Years Posted: Channing Tatum has gone from model to breakout "Step Up" dancing star to one of Hollywood's hottest A-listers right before our very eyes. Mr. Feeny and Eric Matthews Are Coming to 'Girl Meets World' Posted: "Boy Meets World" fans who've been keeping up with spinoff series "Girl Meets World" are in for a treat: Original "Boy" cast members William Daniels and Will Friedle are set to appear on the show's upcoming second season. That's right, Mr. Feeny and Eric Matthews will be stopping by the series to impart some wisdom and provide some comic relief, respectively. This will be Daniels's second appearance on the Disney Channel show, while Friedle is making his series debut. First up is Feeny, who's featured in the season two premiere on May 11, which revolves around Riley (Rowan Blanchard) and Maya (Sabrina Carpenter) meeting a new teacher. He'll also star in the May 14 episode, which will also feature the return of Shawn (Rider Strong), who joins Cory (Ben Savage), Topanga (Danielle Fishel), and the girls for a road trip to Philadelphia to dig up a time capsule. Eric joins the series on the May 15 episode, where he revives his guru personality Plays With Squirrels (who made a memorable cameo in a latter-season episode of "Boy") to help mediate an argument between Riley and Maya. "Girl Meets World" will kick off its second season with a week-long premiere, with new episodes debuting every night from May 11 through May 15. Common Cast in 'Suicide Squad,' Which May Include a Batman Cameo Posted: Oscar-winning rapper Common has just joined the cast of "Suicide Squad." The Hollywood Reporter writes that the "Selma" singer and star has just closed a deal to join director David Ayer's supervillain team-up flick. There's been no word yet on just what role he'll be playing; studio Warner Bros. declined to comment on THR's report. Production on "Suicide" is already underway in Toronto, so perhaps Common's role is just a small one. Either way, his involvement brings even more star power to the already-stacked ensemble, which features a host of big names, including Will Smith, Jared Leto, Margot Robbie, Viola Davis, Jai Courtney, Cara Delevingne, Joel Kinnaman, Ike Barinholtz, Adam Beach, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, and Karen Fukuhara. According to THR, whispers of Jesse Eisenberg making an appearance as Lex Luthor continue. But one other recognizable hero may also drop in: Ben Affleck's Batman. Stay tuned to see if either rumor comes to fruition. "Suicide Squad" is due in theaters on August 5, 2016. Stanley Tucci Joins 'Beauty and the Beast' as a New Character Posted: The already insanely star-studded cast of Disney's upcoming live-action remake of "Beauty and the Beast" just added another big name: Stanley Tucci. Variety reports that the "Hunger Games" star just signed on for the flick, and will be playing a role created specifically for the new version. The character is named Cadenza, and is described by Variety as a "grand piano, a new character to the realm who is described as a neurotic maestro." Tucci's casting should round out the ensemble, which just added Ewan McGregor earlier this week. "Beauty" stars Emma Watson, Dan Stevens, Luke Evans, Emma Thompson, Ian McKellen, Josh Gad, Audra McDonald, and Kevin Kline. Production is scheduled to start later this year. 11 'Oops' Moments From Your Favorite TV Dramas Posted: TV dramas range from action-packed thrillers to slow-burn family affairs, but the best shows are always the ones that make you forget you're watching TV. Shows like "True Detective" and "House of Cards" have changed the way we perceive and watch TV. Sadly, even the best TV shows aren't immune to the occasional gaffe. From classics, like "Dawson's Creek," to your favorite action-dramas, like "24," here's a gallery of the most notable goofs from TV dramas. As usual, all photos are courtesy of MovieMistakes.com. Posted: If you're like us and value your sleep, you probably nodded off into your Ambien dreamland before the party started on post-prime time TV. Don't worry; we've got you covered. Here's the best of what happened last night on late night. Jimmy Fallon and Russell Crowe celebrated Earth Day by performing Jimmy's protest song about the BP oil spill, which is basically a work of poetry. Both Jimmy and Russell need to abandon their careers and become full time folk singers immediately. Also the name of this song is "Balls In Your Mouth," so there's that.... Time for another edition of Obama Expressions on "The Tonight Show!" It's pretty simple, really: Jimmy Fallon analyzes and names POTUS's lesser-known expressions. This week's favorites include the "'Sup, Bae" and the "Bitch, please." Speaking of Obama, Blake Lively visited "Late Night" and dished about the super-awkward time she met POTUS and completely word-vomited. Turns out Blake isn't so eloquent when she finds herself face-to-face with the leader of the free world. Watch the clip to hear her hilarious story! Over on "The Late Late Show," producers stole cellphones from the night's guests (aka Courteney Cox, Oscar Isaac and Joel McHale), and then forced James Corden to guess who's phone belonged to whom based on clues. Like the fact that one of these celebs listens to "Anaconda" on the regular.... Despite what you might think, Dr. Phil is a real doctor, and the time has come for him to analyze Jimmy Kimmel's brain. The results? Jimmy might be crazy. Just kidding -- he's a "practical person" with good moral fiber. Check out his diagnosis in the clip below! Move over, Jimmy Kimmel, Guillermo is once again stealing our hearts with an episode of "Mucho." This week, Zooey Deschanel was a guest on Guillermo's breaking entertainment show, and as expected they were hilarious together. This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |
