Meet the Guy Documenting Tons of Classic Movie Locations As They Look Now

Posted: 13 Jun 2016 09:00 PM PDT

Movie location tourism continues to be on the rise, and it's something I quite enjoy myself. The thing is, places don't always look the same as they did on screen, whether because of time and changes or because it was dressed up for the film. I recently took a trip to Savannah, Georgia, for instance and was disappointed to find that the Forrest Gump bench was just a prop and never actually a part the city's Chippewa Square. Also, often times the current owners of the location aren't welcoming of tourists. Earlier this year, I visited the schoolhouse from Hitchcock's The Birds, which has signs all over it declaring that it's a private residence and to steer clear. We also recently shared the story of how the iconic house from the movie...

Exclusive 'Whiskey Tango Foxtrot' Clip Explains Why It Has Such a Dark Sense of Humor

Posted: 13 Jun 2016 07:30 PM PDT

Everyone need to laugh. It seems like that's never been more true than now. Laughter let's us process the uncontrollable nature of the world. So while it may seem weird to make a comedy about war in Afghanistan and Pakistan, it's also necessary. We need to process it. As this exclusive clip from the Digital HD and Blu-ray release of Whiskey Tango Foxtrot shows, you've just got to have a sense of humor. Not only that, but it's important to understand other people's sense of humor. The movie, starring Tina Fey, is based on the real life of journalist Kim Baker as she was stationed in the Middle East, and as the real Baker explains in this clip, people from the Middle East have a richer and darker sense of humor than most may assume. Check it...

Watch the First Stunning Footage from Pixar's New Short, 'Piper'

Posted: 13 Jun 2016 06:00 PM PDT

One of Pixar's greatest strengths is their ability to perfectly set the mood for a new animated feature by delivering a beautiful appetizer in the form of a short film. Many of their shorts just as memorable as their features, and their new one -- titled Piper -- is no different. With absolutely stunning animation that looks so incredibly real, Piper follows a little sandpiper who's trying desperately to learn the ropes when it comes to navigating its way around crashing waves on the beach in order to find food.  Here's a first look.   With no dialogue whatsoever, Pixar once again delivers a heart-crushingly adorable bite-sized story about what goes on right above the water before diving underneath for yet another adventure with Dory, Nemo and pals...

'Moana' Teaser Trailer: 'The Little Mermaid' Team Returns For a New Disney Movie

Posted: 13 Jun 2016 04:30 PM PDT

For a long time Pixar was the most reliable, most trusted name in animation. People knew a new release was worth seeing just by virtue of being a Pixar movie. And while the quality of animated movies has risen drastically across the board in Hollywood, Pixar has still managed to be king of the animation castle. Disney Animation Studios, though, is making a remarkable run for the crown. Tangled, Wreck-It Ralph, Frozen, Big Hero 6 and Zootopia have all reestablished the studio as a home for animated movies that are visually bold and emotionally powerful. They're nailing comedy that connects for kids and adults. They're telling subtle stories about acceptance and social responsibility that seem to become increasingly important every day. To put it simply, people now know...
