'The Nice Guys' Gets A Killer '70s Retro Trailer Posted: 29 Apr 2016 09:00 PM PDT What do Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang, The Monster Squad, Lethal Weapon, Predator, The Long Kiss Goodnight, Iron Man 3, and Last Action Hero all have in common? Shane Black, of course. Whether as an actor, writer or director, Black has had a hand in some of the most likable, quotable, memorable movies ever made. But what's another thing those movies have in common? None of them are period pieces. Black's movies have always all been very contemporary, very of the moment. That's one of the reasons when people think '80s and '90s action, they think of Shane Black. He's never done a period piece until this May's The Nice Guys. Set in 1970s Los Angeles, The Nice Guys stars Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe as a mismatched pair who wind up uncovering a conspiracy... The game raised over $700k on Kickstarter last year – and development is ongoing. To keep fans in the loop, the team has released a new video -- this one showing why you better pick a really good hiding spot when Jason is running around with his axe. No word yet on when we might get to play Friday the 13th: The Game, but I’m willing to be patient if it means they get everything right. Comics on Film: Why We're Getting 'Spider-Man: Homecoming' Instead of 'The Amazing Spider-Man 3' Posted: 29 Apr 2016 03:00 PM PDT We're just about a week away from the latest installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the form of the highly anticipated – and heavily lauded – Captain America: Civil War. With more superhero characters than even the last Avengers movie, Civil War is the MCU's take on the highly popular and influential comic book storyline Civil War by writer Mark Millar and artist Steve McNiven from 2006-07, and it illustrates a rift in the superhero community that causes the highly capable comrades to take up arms against each other. Of course, one of the major reasons that so many people are looking forward to seeing Civil War – beyond the fact that both Cap and Iron Man are appearing in a movie without... Rian Johnson Shares 'Star Wars: Episode VIII' Photos Posted: 29 Apr 2016 12:00 PM PDT As we anxiously await Star Wars: Episode VIII, writer/director Rian Johnson has kindly shared two new photographs from behind the scenes via social media, as well as a little news. The photographs (above and below) are captioned: “Good. Bad. I’m the guy with the microfiber sham.” The quotation is an apparent reference to a scene in Sam Raimi's Army of Darkness, in which Ash (Bruce Campbell) faces off against himself. Watch the clip below; the dialogue in question can be heard near the end. For those who are not familiar with cleaning products, a microfiber sham is a cloth commonly used to clean windows. The photographs appear to indicate that microfiber shams existed "a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away." As for... Read More This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |
