Watch Emily Blunt in a Bad Place in the Trailer for 'The Girl on the Train'

Posted: 20 Apr 2016 09:30 PM PDT

If there's one part of The Girl on the Train that could have been downplayed in the movie version, it's the main character's alcoholism. The disease is not easily portrayed on screen and has been done terribly in many, many films. But the first trailer for the adaptation of Paula Hawkins's 2015 novel hints that the protagonist's drinking problem might be as prominent as the missing person mystery at the center of its plot. The movie appears to be almost as much The Lost Weekend as the Gone Girl knockoff everyone's expecting. Bleary-eyed Emily Blunt stars as Rachel, the alcoholic divorcee who isn't over her ex-husband (Justin Theroux), especially as she passes the house they shared together every morning and evening...

Watch Arnold Schwarzenegger Pump Iron and Tease Wanting to Do the New 'Predator'

Posted: 20 Apr 2016 07:15 PM PDT

There is a law that says you can't talk about a new Predator without at least bringing up the man who killed the alien headhunter the first time, Arnold Schwarzenegger. He hasn't been in any of the three sequels since the original, but that's not stopping everyone from wondering if he'll step in front of the camera for his Predator co-star Shane Black, who is directing the new movie. It's not exactly idle speculation, either. Black and Schwarzenegger have basically been openly flirting with the project through the press. Whenever one of them is asked about it, they're always on the verge of having a lunch or having a meeting with the other party. Just today Schwarzenegger was asked about the project again during a live Facebook session and while his answer...

Russia's Answer to 'Captain America' Is a Man Who Turns Into a Bear

Posted: 20 Apr 2016 05:30 PM PDT

Superheroes are one of America's most reliable economic exports. It may seem odd to look at it that way, but every single superhero movie these days makes more money overseas than in America. Foreign markets account for billions and billions of dollars and that appetite seems to grow hungrier every year. But not all countries are content with only watching American superhero movies. Other countries want their own, homegrown men and women in tights. Or, in Russia's case, they want a man who turns into a bear. The werebear in question is one of the star members of Guardians, an upcoming Russian movie about a team of people who were mutated by their government during the Cold War to serve as the USSR's super soldiers, only to find themselves out of a job when the Cold...

'Guardians of the Galaxy': Who's Out and Who Might Be In

Posted: 20 Apr 2016 04:00 PM PDT

In 2014, Guardians of the Galaxy was a big gamble, extending the Marvel cinematic universe into far distant worlds and introducing a new team of heroes, led by Chris Pratt and Zoe Saldana. Director James Gunn fashioned an appealing comic adventure that made us eager to see more. The movie made more than $773 million at the box office worldwide, guaranteeing that a sequel would be forthcoming. After a series of teases, Guardians of Galaxy Vol. 2 is now in production, featuring the return of Pratt, Saldana and Dave Bautista, as well as the vocal talents of Vin Diesel and Bradley Cooper. We know that Kurt Russell has joined the cast as the father of Star-Lord (Pratt) and Pom Klementieff as Mantis (see a set photo from James Gunn below). But what other characters will be showing up...

This New Video Teases What the Effects in 'Avatar 2' Might Look Like

Posted: 20 Apr 2016 02:30 PM PDT

Some things were definitely said about whether James Cameron's ambitious plan for four more Avatar sequels was something audiences actually wanted. In addition to the four sequels Cameron announced last week at CinemaCon, we're also getting a new Disney theme park in Pandora: The World of Avatar, which will be part of Disney's Animal Kingdom. The hope with the theme park is to entertain the kids, yes, but also make it so people remember what Avatar even is when the first sequel finally arrives in theaters nine years after the original in December of 2018 (as of now). Disney teased their new Pandora attraction -- which is set to open next year -- for press this week in their Awaken Summer event, showcasing a revealing new video that gives us a brief taste at just how...

The first trailer for The Magnificent Seven remake has dropped, a remake of the 1960 Western starring guys like Steve McQueen and Charles Bronson. This time around we've got Denzel Washington, Chris Pratt, Ethan Hawke and more in what looks to be a pretty badass take on a familiar story: as a gang of ruthless thieves terrorize a small village, seven men of all shapes and sizes (and races) come together to save the day.  The film, which reunites Washington and Hawke with their Training Day director Antoine Fuqua, drops on September 23, 2016.
