'The Mindy Project' Season 4 Trailer Is Missing Someone Important Posted: Hulu has released a new trailer for season four of "The Mindy Project," which returns from its long winter hiatus next week, and while the clip is full of comedic gags and lots of the familiar faces we know and love, there's one major player that's glaringly absent.
Danny (Chris Messina) is nowhere to be found in the promo, prompting speculation that he and Mindy (Mindy Kaling) are definitely on the outs. Also missing: Mindy's engagement ring. Several shots prominently feature Dr. Larihi's hands, and her left ring finger is noticeably empty. Those clues confirm that things between the couple have deteriorated after the events of the midseason finale, in which Mindy sneaks out of her and Danny's apartment to return to her old place, and takes measurements to make sure her son Leo's crib fits. Mindy and Danny had already postponed their wedding, and have been fighting a lot over Mindy's career and their parental roles. Does this mean that the couple really is done for good? We'll have to wait until next week to find out what's happening. Season four of "The Mindy Project" finally returns to Hulu on April 12. Emilia Clarke Wants Lots of Male Nudity in the 'Game of Thrones' Series Finale Posted: "Game of Thrones" features plenty of nudity, though it's tended to disproportionately highlight the female anatomy throughout its run. That would change if Emilia Clarke were in charge, though, and the actress has offered up her own very NSFW idea for how the show should even things out. In an interview with Glamour, Clarke discussed "Thrones"'s nudity notoriety, and commiserated with the magazine that viewers never got to see every last bit of Khal Drogo when he and Daenerys were together. Clarke admitted that she once stole a peek at actor Jacon Momoa's member, coyly revealing, "Showing it would make people feel bad. It's too fabulous." But that doesn't mean the actress isn't in favor of leveling the full-frontal playing field. In fact, if Clarke were in charge of writing the theoretical "Thrones" series finale, she has a very specific vision that involves an eyeful for audiences. "I want to see Daenerys and her three dragons share the throne," the actess mused. "Eat goat they've barbecued. And bring back all the pretty boys, get them to take their trousers down, and be like, 'I'm now the queen of everything! I'd like close-ups of all the boys' penises, please.'" We can't say we don't support this naughty version of events. Here's hoping the Khaleesi gets her wish. "Game of Thrones" returns for its sixth season on April 24. You should stream Season 1 to catch up before enjoying the next stage of their relationship. "Pandemic" This sci-fi movie starring Rachel Nichols, Alfie Allen, Missi Pyle, and Mekhi Phifer was released in theaters on April 1, and hits VOD and iTunes on April 5. The story is set in the near future, when a virus has taken over the planet and there are more infected people than uninfected. The only hope for humanity is finding a cure and keeping the infected contained. Nichols plays a doctor who, after the fall of New York, comes to Los Angeles to lead a team to hunt for and rescue uninfected survivors. "The Expanse" Season 1 We live in a great time for sci-fi/fantasy stories. Here's another one -- "The Expanse: Season One" is coming to Blu-ray and DVD on April 5. The story, based on the bestselling books by James S. A. Corey, is set 200 years in the future, after humans have colonized the solar system. A U.N. Deputy Undersecretary (Shohreh Aghdashloo), a police detective (Thomas Jane), and a rogue ship's captain (Steven Strait) end up embroiled in the case of a missing young woman, which turns into a race across space to save all of humanity. The discs include all 10 episodes plus deleted scenes. Now is your time to get caught up before the 13-episode Season 2 premieres in early 2017 on Syfy. TV Worth Watching "American Idol" (Thursday on FOX at 8 p.m.) This is it: The series finale. Idol's "Farewell Season" 15 ends with either La'Porsha Renae, Trent Harmon, or Dalton Rapattoni named the final winner. This show has changed a lot since its debut in 2002, and viewers have changed even more -- taking the show from must-watch watercooler fodder to "Is that still on?" Well, it's leaving now, so we can sing down memory lane and relive the times we FELT SO MUCH about which David needed to win Season 7. "Outlander" (Saturday on Starz at 9 p.m.) Claire and Jamie are back! Season 2 takes them to France, where they plan to infiltrate the Jacobite rebellion and stop the battle of Culloden. Expect parties, intrigue, amazing fashion, and -- of course -- a wee pregnant Sassenach. "Fear the Walking Dead" (Sunday on AMC at 9 p.m.) Zombies on a boat! Zombies on a plane! Zombies in the ocean! The second season of AMC's "Walking Dead" companion series promises to feature a lot more action (and zombies no one actually calls zombies) than the brief first season, which just introduced the characters and setting. Now our motley crew is about to jump on board Strand's (Coleman Domingo) yacht, named Abigail, and we'll have to see how not-well that goes. Plus, someone from that web series "Fear the Walking Dead: Flight 462" is meant to be joining Season 2 as a main character ... and our money is on Charlie (Michlle Ang). New on Netflix "Hush" This tense cat-and-mouse horror thriller, about a deaf woman who is stalked by a man in her secluded home, had its premiere March 12 at South by Southwest. It'll be out on Netflix April 8. Author Maddie Young (Kate Siegel) lives an isolated life after losing her hearing as a teenager. One night, the masked face of a psychotic man appears in her window. There's no one else around for miles, and no way for her to call for help. Check out the super creepy trailer: "Walt Before Mickey" Thomas Ian Nicholas plays Walt Disney -- with Jon Heder as Roy Disney, and Jodie Sweetin as Charlotte Disney -- in this 2015 bio-drama that follows Walt's struggle to master the art and business of animation, 10 years before he created Mickey Mouse. Check out the historical drama on Netflix starting April 5. "Girl Meets World" Season 2 The second season of the Disney Channel series will be available for streaming on Netflix April 10. The New 'BFG' Trailer Takes the Kid in All of Us to Giant Country Posted: All of us, at some point in our childhoods, hid under the covers and imagined monsters lurking outside. In the new trailer for Steven Spielberg's "The BFG," one such monster scoops little Sophie out of her bed — but it turns out he's the good kind of monster. The full-length trailer gives us a better look at the adaptation of Roald Dahl's fantastical story. A 10-year-old Sophie (Ruby Barnhill) is whisked away by a big, friendly giant (voice of Oscar winner Mark Rylance) to Giant Country. Why her? "Because I hears your lonely heart," he rumbles. Unfortunately, not all giants are so friendly and kind and well-meaning. Some like to feast on people, and it's up to Sophie and her BFG to save her kind from them. Spielberg is a master of these kinda scary, coming-of-age kid stories ("E.T." anyone?), and posted a special message about the movie on Facebook:
"The BFG" opens in theaters on July 1. Want more stuff like this? Like us on Facebook. This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |
'Maze Runner' Star Dylan O'Brien Is 'Healing Very Well' After Set Injury Posted: "The Maze Runner" and star Dylan O'Brien, who was seriously injured in an on-set accident a few weeks ago, is on the mend, according to co-star Giancarlo Esposito. "He's healing very well," Esposito told E! News at the premiere of "The Jungle Book," in which he voices Akela. "He got put together a couple of weeks ago ... He's one tough cookie." Esposito added that O'Brien is expected to recover enough to return to filming "The Maze Runner: Death Cure" on May 15. A safety report seems to indicate O'Brien suffered a "concussion, facial fracture and lacerations" after falling off a motorcycle that went into a slide after a stunt. "He got his bell rung. I would imagine many who witnessed thought that was it ... [But] he's a survivor," Esposito said. The one good thing about Dylan that I think is going to help him get back on schedule with us very soon is he has a great attitude." "The Maze Runner: Death Cure" is the third film in the franchise, based on the popular dystopian YA novels. O'Brien also stars in MTV's "Teen Wolf." Want more stuff like this? Like us on Facebook. Melissa McCarthy Demolishes Lip Sync Battle With Messy 'Colors of the Wind' Posted: Melissa McCarthy, we are not worthy! The actress appeared on "The Tonight Show" last night to face off against Jimmy Fallon in his popular segment "Lip Sync Battle" (which spun off into a TV show on Spike), and she absolutely ruled with her two song selections. After Fallon performed Melanie's "Brand New Key," McCarthy got rough and tumble with DMX's "Gonna Give It to Ya." But it was her second tune, "Colors of the Wind" from the "Pocohontas" soundtrack that really turned it up, as "The Boss" star donned a pair of goggles and was showered with leaves, branches, plush woodland animals, and lots and lots of glitter. Fallon couldn't stop giggling in glee, and had to declare her the "Lip Sync Battle" champion of the evening. McCarthy next builds a girl troop cookie empire in "The Boss," which opens in theaters April 8. Want more stuff like this? Like us on Facebook.
