Posted: 09 Jun 2014 12:05 AM PDT "Guardians of the Galaxy" Theatrical Poster THE MOVIE: In the far reaches of space, an American pilot named Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) finds himself the object of a manhunt after stealing an orb coveted by the villainous Ronan. Directed by James Gunn (Super), Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy hits theaters in August of 2014. The cast includes Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan, Djimon Hounsou, John C. Reilly, Glenn Close and Benicio del Toro Updates: According to THN, the cast of characters that will appear in the film are: Drax The Destroyer, Groot, Star Lord, Rocket Raccoon and Gamora. According to the Hollywood Reporter, James Gunn was chosen for his "sensibility and his ability to mix comedy elements with action and horror." Gunn is known for Dawn of the Dead, Slither and Super. | Collider reports that Gunn has confirmed that he will direct the film, and he will also rewrite Chris McCoy and Nicole Perlman's script.
