Michael Bay's 30 Most Gratuitously Sexy Shots (PHOTOS) Posted: The name Michael Bay is synonymous with "big explosive action," but if you're a true connoisseur of the man and his oeuvre, you know he also has a fantastic eye for combining the porn world with the mainstream blockbuster world. Not surprising coming from a man who cut his teeth on music videos, lingerie commercials, and Playboy Playmate video pictorials. Yes, the master of Bayhem has a sweet tooth for strippers and scantily clad dancers of all kinds, and we've been enjoying the fruits of his cinematic labor since the first "Bad Boys." In honor of the forthcoming "Transformers: Age of Extinction," let's take a trip down horndog lane as we explore the most porny moments of Bay's filmography. WARNING: Some of these are kinda NSFW. 7 Things You Should Know About Pixar's 'Inside Out' Posted: When you're invited by Pixar to check out footage from their upcoming movie, you don't turn it down. In fact, you count the days until the glorious moment that you're sitting the theater, ready to be wowed by the latest entry in an already esteemed library of animated films. Last Thursday (June 19), we were treated to select, work-in-progress scenes from Disney-Pixar's "Inside Out"(which comes out June 19, 2015) from the creative team behind "Up," Oscar-winning director Pete Docter and Oscar-nominated producer Jonas Rivera. While we don't want to give away everything we saw (where's the fun in that?), we will kick your imagination into overdrive with some of the highlights. Before we get started, you're going to need to know the story (if you don't already), and it's best to let the studio tell it to you straight:

James Gunn Confirms Nathan Fillion's 'Guardians of the Galaxy' Cameo Posted: After Captain Hammer himself hinted at the possibility earlier this year, it's now been confirmed: Nathan Fillion will have a small cameo in "Guardians of the Galaxy." "Guardians" director James Gunn delivered the news to his Twitter followers over the weekend, answering a fan query about the likelihood of Fillion appearing in the upcoming Marvel flick. That's good news for Fillion fans, who had suspected for some time that the actor would pop up in "Guardians," thanks to his longtime working relationship with Gunn on films like "Slither" and "Super." Fillion made coy reference to the possibility of a "Guardians" cameo back in April, when he not-so-subtly told an inquiring fan, "Maybe you'll be surprised. Maybe. Check the credits."We're excited to see Fillion return to his space roots (RIP, "Firefly"), and eager to see how he jells with the rest of the "Guardians" cast. EW has a rundown of possible parts the actor could play; we're thinking he'll probably pop up somewhere unexpected in the background. Be on the lookout for Fillion when "Guardians of the Galaxy" -- which also stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Dave Batista, and Karen Gillan -- hits theaters on August 1. 'Project Runway' Season 13 Reveals Premiere Date and Celebrity Guest Judges Posted: Several new twists and turns are in store for "Project Runway" viewers, as the fashion reality show is set to return for its 13th season next month. Three former contestants -- Ken Laurence (Season 12), Alexander Pope (Season 12), and Amanda Valentine (Season 11) -- are vying to return to the series via an Instagram campaign, the winner of which will be revealed during the season premiere. That lucky designer will compete against 18 new contestants, and three people total will be sent packing before the first challenge is even revealed. Variety reports that that challenge will involve designers "using only a trunk of fabric to create a look that reflects what their spring collection would look like if they were to present at New York Fashion Week." A handful of finalists will ultimately complete said collection to vie for the "Project Runway" crown. A list of guest judges was also revealed. They are: Julie Bowen ("Modern Family"), Elisabeth Moss ("Mad Men"), Shay Mitchell ("Pretty Little Liars"), skier Lindsey Vonn, burlesque dancer Dita Von Teese, fashion designer Christian Siriano (the winner of "Project Runway"'s fourth season), British TV personality and photographer Amanda de Cadenet, and YouTube star Bethany Mota. Host Heidi Klum, judges Nina Garcia and Zac Posen, and mentor Tim Gunn are all returning. Season 13 of "Project Runway" debuts on Lifetime on July 24. NBC Beatles Series Faces Issues Over Music Rights Posted: Beatles fans who got their hopes up about a proposed miniseries chronicling the band's rise to fame are now singing the blues: The project has hit some major development snags, and may be dead in the water. Like we predicted last week, the success of NBC's in-the-works series hinges on the network's acquisition of rights to the band's catalogue, and it seems that the current owner of those rights is already in the midst of developing its own competing project about the Fab Four. Billboard reports that Sony/ATV Music Publishing, which has the rights to all but six Lennon-McCartney compositions, has been planning a series with Sony Pictures TV -- possibly helmed by Baz Luhrmann, on a pay cable outlet like HBO -- with the same concept as NBC's show. Marty Bandier, the chairman and CEO of Sony/ATV Music Publishing, told Billboard that the next step in their process is contacting Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, and the estates of the late John Lennon and George Harrison, to obtain permission to use the Beatles's likenesses. Bandier said Sony had not yet reached out to those parties; it's unclear if NBC has done so. Even if NBC obtained likeness rights and wanted to go around Sony/ATV for music, that won't come cheap. According to Billboard, Steve Van Zandt worked out a deal to use four non-Sony/ATV Beatles tunes in David Chase's 2012 film "Not Fade Away" -- at a cool $250,000 apiece. So it seems the likelihood of NBC's series coming to fruition is low. Then again, sources familiar with the Peacock's plans told Billboard that reports of the project were "premature," so maybe the network has a plan to deal with these seemingly insurmountable issues. (Not using the Fab Four's music at all, perhaps?) Our fingers are crossed that they can work it out. [via: Billboard, h/t Uproxx] This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |
Susan Sarandon and Geena Davis's Epic 'Thelma & Louise' Selfie Is 23 Years in the Making (PHOTO) Posted: Back before smartphones were de rigeur, instant selfies only existed with the help of Polaroid cameras, as demonstrated in "Thelma & Louise" by stars Susan Sarandon and Geena Davis. Last week, the women reunited to show today's #selfie-obsessed kids how it's done. In an image posted to her Twitter account, Sarandon shared a snap of her and Davis as Thelma and Louise in the 1991 film alongside a photo of the pair's recent reunion. Twenty-three years later, and the actresses still look fabulous. While it may be too late for a "Thelma & Louise" sequel, we'd like to imagine Sarandon and Davis are real-life BFFs, too, and often take wacky, selfie-filled adventures together. Our fingers are crossed that Brad Pitt pops up at their next photo shoot.[via: Susan Sarandon, h/t People] This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |
Emmy Nominations 2014 Wish List: Reality Categories Posted: The 2014 Emmy nominations will be revealed July 10th, and in the days leading up to that big announcement we'll be sharing our dream picks for nods in the big categories. To kick things off, let's focus is on reality TV. Love it or ignore it (or try to...), the genre is a huge part of today's television lineup. It's not all "Kardashians" and mirror ball trophies though -- sometimes it's fisherman risking their lives for a catch or special effects experts debunking the world's craziest myths. This year's Emmys serves up four major reality categories -- host, competition, structured, and unstructured. Competition is pretty self-explanatory and past winners include "The Amazing Race" and ... "The Amazing Race." Yes, the has won every year from 2003-2012, aside from when "Top Chef" and "The Voice" surprisingly beat it out. Beginning this year, the category for Outstanding Reality Program has been split in to two. Unstructured points to "docu-soaps" like "Duck Dynasty" and "True Tori," while Structured encompasses programming that follows a set format, such as "Storage Wars" and "Ghost Hunters." Which shows deserve a nod? Check out our dream reality TV nominees, below, and stay tuned for more from our Emmy wish list over the next few weeks! 'Batman' Cast: Where Are They Now? (PHOTOS) Posted: When "Batman" debuted on June 23, 1989, Michael Keaton convinced those who doubted his casting, and audiences ate up Tim Burton's dark carnival aesthetic. Both Keaton and Burton were back for 1992's "Batman Returns," and oh how we missed them when Joel Schumacher took over the director's chair. Jack Nicholson still makes "best of" lists for his villainous turn as The Joker, but we'd like to forget about Prince's "Batdance." (Yes, please do use it as self-defense against zombies.) What has the cast been up to since 1989? Oh, just some Oscars here and there, "Dancing With the Stars" and ... "Birdman"? This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |
Pearl Jam's 'Let It Go' Cover Sounds Exactly Like You'd Think (VIDEO) Posted: Well, you can now add legendary American rock band Pearl Jam to the list of "people who have covered 'Let It Go'," where they now sit proudly beside every girl between the ages of 8 and 15 with access to a web cam. As People Magazine points out, the band played a concert in Milan on Friday night and covered "Let It Go," the Academy Award-winning song from Disney's "Frozen," in the middle of "Daughter." As People helpfully reminds us, in 2013, Pearl Jam bassist Jeff Ament admitted that the group had become "the ultimate dad band," and this rousing cover pretty much cements that title, with lead singer Eddie Vedder belting out the lyrics in his signature gravelly roar. (Vedder has two young daughters, who, like the rest of America, have probably seen the movie a total of 1 billion times.) "Frozen," of course, is the Disney animated feature that has broken box office records (it's the most successful animated film of all time, y'know?) and won two Oscars, including the Best Animated Feature statue. But now, the ultimate prize: being covered by Pearl Jam. Could you ask for anything more? What do you think of the band's cover? Did Vedder reach in and capture his inner Elsa, or does he just want to be a snowman? This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |
Will Forte To Guest On 'The Simpsons' As Never-Before-Seen Character Posted: Will Forte can seemingly do it all. The former "Saturday Night Live" cast member can anchor an Oscar-nominated drama (last year's "Nebraska") and show up on "Conan" as an oversized approximation of media mogul Ted Turner (complete with stuffed buffalo) and do pretty much everything in between. It was revealed last week that he'll get the chance to inhabit a legendary "Simpsons" role -- for the never-before-seen King Toot, owner of the music store that sits beside Moe's Tavern. Pretty cool. According to TV line, "Simpsons" executive producer Matt Selman revealed that Forte will play King Toot in the 26th season of the groundbreaking animated series, in an episode set to air this fall. Selman teased TV Line by saying: "Do they get along? I don't think so." King Toot's Music Store is most famously featured in Season 9 episode "Lisa's Sax," in which the family recounts how Lisa obtained her signature instrument, and has been highlighted in a handful of additional episodes. We can imagine that having a store next to Moe's isn't exactly a walk in the park. Forte will star in his own Fox sitcom, "The Last Man on Earth," from "22 Jump Street" masterminds Phil Lord and Chris Miller, starting in 2015. That should be very, very good too. Proof We Should Replace All Dinosaurs With Giant Dogs in 'Jurassic Park' (VIDEO) Posted: Have you ever asked yourself, "What would it look like if I replaced a dinosaur in 'Jurassic Park' with my dog?" Well, someone answered that question, inserting a bulldog named Wally into that pivotal scene in which we're introduced to that first dinosaur. Somehow, it makes the moment all the more magical. Box Office: For 'Think Like a Man Too' and 'Jersey Boys,' Where Were the Guys? Posted: C'mon, dudes! The manliness quotient of this weekend's two new wide releases, "Think Like a Man Too" and "Jersey Boys," was right there in the titles. So why did so few guys go see them? "Think Like a Man Too" opened at No. 1 with an estimated $30.0 million. For most movies (especially low-budget ensemble comedies), that number would seem an unmitigated success. But it's a lot lower than pundits had predicted (which was in the upper 30s), and lower even than the first "Think Like a Man," which seemingly came out of nowhere two years ago and premiered with $33.6 million, largely on the strength of then-rising comic Kevin Hart. The movie's marketing emphasized bro-friendly Vegas bachelor party premise, but today, not even Hart's presence is a guarantee that guys will show up. Back in February, just a month after his cop comedy "Ride Along" opened to $41.5 million, his remake of "About Last Night" debuted with a comparatively tepid $25.6 million. Much of that film's cast, including Hart, Michael Ealy, and Regina Hall, are back in "Think Too," but maybe viewers sense that "Think Too" is, like "About," more of a battle-of-the-sexes farce than a bros-party movie. That sort of thing tends to appeal more to women than to men. Indeed, exit polling shows that "Think Too"'s audience was 63 percent female and just 37 percent male. "Jersey Boys," which opened slightly better than its modest expectations -- pundits had predicted a debut of $11 million, but it debuted with an estimated $13.5 million, good for fourth place -- drew a similar gender-split crowd, an audience that was 61 percent women and 39 percent men. Again, this was a movie that was supposed to have guy appeal -- it's based on a hit stage show about a once very-popular band, it's directed by Clint Eastwood, and it's about four guys who came from a rough neighborhood and had to deal with organized-crime thuggery to reach the top. Unfortunately, neither Eastwood nor any other recognizable name star appears in any of the lead roles; the heyday of the Four Seasons was 50 years ago, long before younger moviegoers were born; and it's a musical. So, three strikes against it for the dude audience. Mind you, those who did go see "Think Too" or "Jersey Boys" really liked them, giving them each an A- grade at CinemaScore. That's despite the lukewarm reviews for both movies by most critics. Then again, most critics are men, and if they were disappointed by the machismo quotient of these films, well, maybe that was all the more reason women audiences liked them. But the guys' aversion to these two films is also happening during a summer when pure guy fare (like "A Million Ways to Die in the West" or "Edge of Tomorrow") has largely failed to live up to its box office potential, while movies aimed more at girls and women have been smashes (see "Maleficent" and "The Fault in Our Stars." Comedies that appeal to both sexes, like "Neighbors" and "22 Jump Street," have also done well. Hollywood traditionally thinks of summer as the time when teenage guys out of school are expected to be the ones choosing action blockbusters as date-night fare. But that hasn't been the case this summer. If Hollywood can't figure out why it's repelling the audience that was once it's most easily manipulated demographic, the next "Think Like a Man" movie is going to be about a brainstorming session among desperate studio executives.
