Showtime Picks Up Cameron Crowe's New Comedy Series, Roadies Posted: 18 Jun 2014 12:08 PM PDT Showtime has given a pilot production order to "Roadies," a comedy that follows the day-to-day life of a successful rock tour as seen through the eyes of music's unsung background players the crew members who help get the show on the road. Cameron Crowe, who won an Oscar for chronicling the highs and lows of rock and roll life as witnessed by a Rolling Stone magazine cub reporter in his semi-autobiographical film Almost Famous, wrote and will direct the one-hour pilot (for a potential half-hour series). Crowe will executive produce with Emmy and Tony nominee Winnie Holzman ("Huge," "My So-Called Life"), who will serve as showrunner, as well as Emmy winners J.J. Abrams ("Lost," Star Trek) and Bryan Burk ("Lost," "Fringe"). Kathy Lingg ("Person of Interest," "Revolution") is co-executive producer. Featuring never-before-seen footage, the two-minute trailer provides the best look yet at the intense drama, which tells the story of an undercover agent plunged into a terrifying mystery over his own identity. Lothaire Bluteau, Kevin Durand and Morgane Polanski Join Vikings Season 3 Posted: 18 Jun 2014 11:25 AM PDT History announced today new casting for season three of its hit scripted series "Vikings," including Lothaire Bluteau ("The Tudors") as Emperor Charles of France, a powerful man who views battling the Vikings as spiritual and earthly; Kevin Durand (pictured, "The Strain") as The Wanderer, a mysterious man who is not what he seems; and Morgane Polanski (The Ghost) as Princess Gisla, the elegant, self-possessed daughter of Emperor Charles and his most trusted advisor. They join previously announced Ben Robson who will play Kalf, Lagertha's trusted second in command. |
