Deal on Fire! The Quest | Blu-ray | Only $8.76 – Expires soon! Posted: 27 Apr 2014 12:00 AM PDT Today’s Deal on Fire is the Blu-ray for The Quest, a 1996 martial arts film directed by and starring Jean-Claude Van Damme. The Quest is about a pickpocket (Van Damme) who heads to the Far East in order to escape police trouble. While there, he meets James Bond (Roger Moore) and gets mixed up in a deadly martial arts competition. The Quest was allegedly based off a 1991 script Van Damme wrote with Frank Dux (the real life martial artist portrayed in Bloodsport) called The Kumite: Enter the New Dragon, which eventually lead to a suit filed by Dux. To make a long story short, Van Damme won, but Dux was given a writer’s credit. Order The Quest from Amazon.com today! |
Zack Snyder to shoot ‘Batman vs. Superman’ back-to-back with ‘Justice League’ Posted: 27 Apr 2014 12:00 AM PDT THE MOVIE: Justice League is heading to the big screen around 2017. The Justice League of America (or JLA) originally featured the line-up of Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Green Lantern, Aquaman, and the Martian Manhunter. Other characters: Green Arrow, Captain Marvel, Black Canary, the Atom, Hawkman, Hawkgirl, Plastic Man, Red Tornado, Firestorm, Zatanna, other Green Lanterns, and dozens of others. Mad Max’s George Miller and The Town’s Ben Affleck were previously attached to direct. Now, new reports are surfacing that Zack Snyder (Man of Steel) will be helming JLA. Updates: New rumors circulating online suggest that Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel may in fact be the first building block towards the Justice League movie. | AICN suggests we could see Joseph Gordon-Levitt as John Blake (aka the new Batman) during a Man of Steel ending teaser. | AICN relays word from Latino Review that the main villain in the Justice League film will be…Darkseid! AICN relays how Latino Review got their big scoop: Christopher Nolan, Zack Snyder, and David Goyer are now the stewards of the Justice League movie. The plan is presumably for Nolan and Goyer to collaborate on a script and Snyder to direct the film. Warner Brothers is reportedly ecstatic with Snyder’s take on Superman in Man of Steel, so it makes sense for the studio to hand him their next big superhero movie. And the speculation is that Nolan’s presence will help bring Christian Bale back to the role of Batman for Justice League. BREAKING NEWS: Collider reports that Zack Snyder will shoot Batman vs. Superman back-to-back with JLA, which means a 2017 release for JLA. |
